Mega Man 8 introduced us to a new batch of robot masters. Like most Mega Man games element themed robot masters were in Mega Man 8. Aqua Man is one of the element themed robot masters as he represents water. He made his debut in Mega Man 8.

Background- The Mega Man 8 booklet states that Aqua Man was developed out of parts Wily used when he tried to create Frost Man. Instead of throwing away the parts he just made a new robot master and named him Aqua Man. However, the Japanese version states that Aqua Man may have been a water control robot at a Marine Lab before being modified by Dr. Wily. Regardless, he was created or modified into a combat robot by Dr. Wily.

Wily was impressed with Aqua Man ability to fight in the water and on land. Wily ordered him to take over a Marine lab. Aqua Man took over a Marine water lab in Madagascar and turned it into a base. He rigged his new base with spike traps, water falls, and a lot of under water enemies. He awaited Mega Man's arrival. Surprisingly he put up a good fight against Mega Man but was defeated.

After defeating him Mega Man liberated the Marine water research lab. It is revealed that Aqua Man is still alive although he has not appeared in any other games.

Appearance- Aqua Man is a short and chubby robot master. His belly is a huge water tank that he can store water in. He has several values on him that he uses to control his water pressure. His helmet also contains water. He is sphere shaped overall. He has blue, red, and gold armor. He has a regular hand on one arm. His other hand is his cannon that he releases water out of.

Personality- Aqua Man is considered immature and has the mind of a child. He loves pranks and child like humor which often gets on his peers nerves. He loves to be the center of attention and will do whatever he can to be the center of attention. It does not take things seriously at all. Despite his child like manner he can be competent in battle. He is an effective fighter and he will even taunt.

Attack- Aqua Man has a lot of attacks that make him a tough opponent. He can fire his water balloon weapon at random. He can fire just a single shot or he can spam it. How much water he uses and how much pressure he releases is up to him. It should be noted his water does corrosion like damage. Another dangerous attack is he can cause his water gun to move in a straight our up down pattern. This can cause him to corner the player. He also likes to jump around a lot. Another dangerous attack is he can summon the water below him to create a tidal wave. He is very effective at using water, and he does a lot of cheap shots making him hard to read.

Weakness- He is weak to Astro Crush. Astro Crush shreds him. It messes with his vales and his ability to use water pressure. In fact, his armor does not hold up well against the Astro Crush. After he is hit with it his armor starts cracking and breaking.

If the player defeats him they will get his water balloon weapon. The water balloon fires corrosive water at enemies. It is mostly effective against fire based enemies and bosses.

A water themed robot master. He can store water in his belly and seems to suffer from being chubby because of it.

Aqua Man name could be a reference to the color Aqua. As there is a lot of Aqua colors in his stage. Also Aqua is associated with water. As his CD data implies he never takes anything serious. Therefore, he can be a good off. He is very child like and immature. His jokes are either real bad or dirty which gets on his peers nerves.

It is not know what happened to him after Mega Man 8. His CD data shows he is still alive. It is not known if he still works for wily or if he went to a water control treatment center. The Japanese booklet suggest that he went back to being the later as he was a water control robot. On the other hand, the American Booklet states that he was created by Wily from the get go. Thus, it is speculated he may have gotten a job after being freed from Wily. This concludes the Aqua Man bio
