A few weeks ago I talked about how Guts Man was Wily's favorite robot master or that is the impression given. Guts Man has inspired the design of other robot masters. One of those is from Mega Man 5 and that robot master is Stone Man. Stone Man made his debut in Mega Man 5 and has appeared in other games.

Background- Dr Wily created Stone Man after the events of Mega Man 4 and based him off of Gut's man design. He was made to be hard and touch like bricks. During the events of Mega Man 5 Dr. Wily ordered Stone Man to take over a mountain top that also contained a mine. Stone Man took over the mine and the top of the Mountain. In fact, he turned it into a fort/base. It is speculated Wily ordered him to take over the mine so he could mine minerals for Wily.

He rigged his base/mine with several traps anticipating Mega Man. Moreover, he also hid secret passages in his base as well. He anticipated Mega Man's arrival. Mega Man confronted him and he put up a good fight but was defeated by Mega Man. After his defeat the mine was returned to normal operations.

During the events of Mega Man IV he is once again in charge of a mine most likely on another mountain. In this game he also holds a key to unlock a shield around Wily's fort. Once again he fights well but is defeated by Mega Man.

He also appears in the Mega Man fighting Games. This time he helps Wily in his latest schemes. He has been rebuilt several times by Wily just like Guts Man has been.

Appearance- Stone Man bears a slightly resemblance to Guts Man. He is a tall robot made out of bricks. He has a thick armor, but when he crumbles he can quickly resemble himself. His armor is very tough. He is usually seen wearing a brown/brick like colored armor. He also has a buster on one of his hands that he uses to fire his power stone or his stone hand weapon.

Personality- He enjoys Karaoke just like his friend Guts Man. He also likes going to movies and having a good time. He is also very loyal to Wily. He is also an effective manager as he manages his mine that he took over very effectively. However, Stone Man can be very stubborn at times.

Attack- In Mega Man 5 and IV he has several attacks. He likes to try to jump into the player/opponents by using his weight as an advantage. He also likes to use his power stone which will hurl large boulders at the player/opponent. He loves to use boulders as his main attack. If he is hit with an explosive weapon his body will crumble but he can resemble and repair himself quickly.

In the Mega Man fighting games. He can pick up a large boulder or a tone of bricks and hurl them at the opponent. Also he can create a new version of the Power Stone. In this case a large rock shaped hand will appear to try and smash his opponents.

Weaknesses- In Mega Man 5 and Mega Man IV he is weak to the Napalm Bomb weapon. The Napalm Bomb keeps him crumbling apart and given how it can bounce around it will do extra damage. In the Fighting Game he is weak to sound such as noise crush as sound waves mess with his ability to repair himself.

If the player defeats him they will get his Power Stone Weapon. In Mega Man 5 the player can launch 3 large boulders that spread out. However, hitting enemies can be difficult. In Mega Man IV they will get power stone again but this time the boulders are more effective at hitting their targets. In the fighting game they will be able to use his power stone smash attack as a weapon.

Bad Point- He is very stubborn at times.

Likes- Karaoke and going to movies.

Dislikes- Grouches

As stated he likes singing Karaoke and going to movies with his friend Guts Man. Both like to have a good time outside of their jobs. Also like his friend Guts Man he uses rock/bounders as his main weapon.

Stone Man not liking grouches is likely due to the fact he does not like it when somebody criticizes him. He also does not like it when people spoil his mood. Even though he can be stubborn he is often portrayed as being in a good mood. It could also be that grouches keep him from doing his job.

Stone Man is one of the more popular Mega Man 5 bosses given the number of games he has appeared in. He shares this with his other Mega Man 5 colleagues Napalm Man, Crystal Man, Gryo Man, and Charge Man. Like Guts Man Wily seems to favor him due to his loyalty and strength. Wily has rebuilt him several times and he continues to serve Wily. It could also be that Stone Man is an expert on technical advances as evident by his CD data. This concludes the Stone Man Biography.
