Mega Man 2 gave us some interesting robot masters. In fact, it was the first Mega Man game to introduce the common 8 robot master format. As I have stated several times Mega Man 2 is what established Mega Man as one of the greatest all time video game characters. Metal Man made his debut in Mega Man 2.

Background- After the events of the first Mega Man game, Dr. Wily created 8 new robot masters to conquer the world. Not only did Dr. Wily create 8 new robot masters to conquer the world, he also created them to get revenge against Mega Man. Metal Man was one of the 8 new robot masters Dr. Wily created in his latest scheme.

Metal Man was built off of Cut Man's design. In fact, Metal Man is seen as an upgrade from Cut Man. He has thicker armor than cut man but still has thin armor. Dr. Wily gave him the ability to throw metal blades a weapon that can cut through just about anything.

He seems to have taken over a Toy factory in Mega Man 2 implying that he may like working with toys. Another theory is that Dr. Wily ordered him to take over the toy factory. Regardless he made his base out of the toy factory and was causing all kinds of havoc. He also rigged the base with bobby traps in hopes of luring Mega Man into a trap. He challenged Mega Man to a duel but despite being an upgrade over cut man he was defeated. He has since appeared in other games.

Appearance- He is about the same high as Mega Man. It seems like he often wears a saw blade like thing on his helmet. In most games his armor is a dark red with some yellow on it. In some games it is shown he has spikes coming out of his shoulders and even out the sides of his hand. There are also two saw blades around each shoulder.

Personality- While he is effective at what he does. His workers do not really like him. His colleagues do not seem to care for his personality and there are several reasons for this. First, he is known to be shrewed and a swindler. He is also not very trust worthy. Therefore, it is speculated he might be two faced. Despite his flaws he is an effective and loyal worker for Dr. Wily

Attacks- He often fights on a conveyor belt that he can change the direction he wants it too. His main attack is jumping a lot and throwing his metal blade. He can throw several metal blades at the same time. Due to his jumping and spamming metal blades he can be a little tricky to dodge.

Weaknesses- Meta Man does have some weaknesses. As a Joke he is weak against his own weapon. He is one of the few robot masters not immune to their own weapon. His main weakness is quick boomerang as it is shown that he messes up his timing and jumping. In some games he is weak to the Crash Bomb as his armor cannot withstand the explosives due to not being that heavy. Even though he jumps and can be tricky to dodge. His pattern can be learned and manipulated in some games.

Once the player defeats him they will get his Metal Blade weapon. The Metal Blade is an effective weapon that can be used to clear out a lot of enemies in the game.

Dislikes- Dogs

The reason he does not like dogs is because dogs will catch his metal blade when he is using them as a frisbee. Thus dogs like to return the metal blade to him since they are good at fetch. This causes him problems as he is not immune to his own weapon.

Metal Man is seen as an upgrade from Cut Man but just like Cut man he still has flaws. While he is very agile that can work against him. Boomerang weapons work against him because they mess up his jumping. It could also be that they send his metal blade back at him. Therefore, he could be considered a faulty design by Dr. Wily due to his flaws. This could also be the fact that he was one of the first robot masters Wily created on his own. Moreover, him liking frisbees could also confirm that he does like toys, and that could be a reason why he took over a toy factory in Mega Man 2. Anyway, this concludes the Meta Man biography.
