Since my area has had clouds. I decided I would do a cloud character today. Lakilester also known as spike is a character that first appeared in the events of the first Paper Mario Game. He is first encountered as an enemy but later becomes an ally to Mario and his friends. He has a wild personality. Indeed, I will explore his personality in my biography.

Kakilester, again also known as Spike, is part of the Lakitu species. Lakitus are a species of turtles that ride in clouds and drop spike balls that turn into spineys on players. A lot of them work for Powers and are part of Bowser's army. However, some Lakitu do not work for Bowser and are independent.

Lakitu lives in Flower Fields which can be accessed in Toad Town. Bowser had granted power to the large thunder head known as Puff N Huff. Lakilester being a Lakitu was requited by Bowser to help him in his army and to help Huff N Puff take control of the normally peaceful fills. Lakiluster felt empowered and important so he agreed to help Bowser. Like most Lakitus he would provide air support for Bowser's troops. He would also help create spineys.

Eventually, he is encountered by Mario near a towwer in Flower Fields. He introduces himself as Lakiluster and that his nickname is Spike. He tries to sound gruff and confident. He challenges Mario to a fight which he looses. Before Mario can knock him out, his girlfriend Lakilulu appears and tells Mario that Lakilester is not evil. That Bowser had tricked him into joining his army by telling him he would be stronger. Lakilester tells Mario that is the truth and that he only wanted to be stronger to impress his girlfriend. He ask forgiveness from Mario which Mario excepts. He also tells Mario where Huff N Puff and his Puff Machine is. Mario asks him to join his party to prove himself and to help him. Likely Mario is giving him a change to improve himself for the right reasons.

Lakilester proves to be a valuable ally for Mario. He helps Mario defeat Bowser. Thus he betrayed the bad guys and joined the good guys. This is different than the other characters who where good guys to begin with. He is later invited along with his girlfriend to Peach's castle in a victory party. This signatures that he is a good guy for good. In some versions he states he has no desire to join the bad guys. He is last seen living peacefully with the Flower Field's residents.

Appearance- He is a typical Lakitu and rides in a cloud. He is also typical Lakitu yellow and green. However, he has green or multi colored hair. He also wears dark sun glasses.

Personality- At first he talks like he is a tough guy. He is actually a tough guy but a good guy at heart. He mainly did this to try to impress Mario. He likes to use catchphrases to sound cool. Even when he becomes a good guy he uses catchphrases. In his girlfriend's words he is hip. He might be a little insecure as he joined Bowser's army to impress people. In reality he was already respected by the residents of Flower Fields and his Girlfriend. Furthermore, he might be easily tricked. As according to his girlfriend Bowser was able to trick him into joining him for more power and to impress others.

He is also brave and confident. This is shown when he challenges Mario to a duel. Even after he betrays the bad guys. He shows he is not afraid of consequences. He has a warrior type spirit.

After becoming a good guy he reveals he has a loyal personality. He also shows he is a good guy at heart by showing remorse for his previous actions. It could be argued that once he sees he is in the wrong he tries to make up for it. For example, he told Mario where Huff N Puff had his machines at, and excepted Mario's offer to join him on his quest.

Abilities- Being a Lakitu he can fly in the air by his cloud. He can also drop an unlimited supply of spike balls on ground enemies. The spike balls or spike eggs turn into spineys. When he is charged up he can create giant winds that can help him in battle. He can also let other take a ride in his cloud. Mario can use his cloud to get over obstacles.

Attacks- He has several powerful attacks. His main attack is to drop spike balls/eggs on opponents. This can rack up several hit points. He can also create Spines for them to walk into the opponent and stick them with their spikes. He can also create a spiny surge. When he is fully charged up he can create gale force winds to blow certain opponents away in battle.

Relationships. His relationships changed throughout the game because he was originally a bad guy but later became a good guy.

Lakilulu-He loves his girlfriend and tries to look out for her. Likewise she loves him and looks after him. The two try to protect each other. He wants to be the best boyfriend to her as well as impress her. In reality she was already impressed by him.

Mario- At first he challenges Mario to a fight. After Mario defeats him he respects Mario. He apologies to Mario and is thankful to Mario for giving him a second chance. He looks up to Mario and considers him a friend.

Koops- Since they are both turtles he respects Koops. He respects Koops and Koops respects him. They consider each other friends.

Other helpers- He is on friendly terms with the other helpers

Peach- He is eager to help rescue Peach to atone for his past actions.

Enemies-

Bowser- He was once hired by Bowser. However, after he learned that Bowser had tricked him. He switch sides. He decides to help Mario defeat Bowser. He also states he did not know what Bowser was doing was evil.

Huff N Puff- He betrayed Huff N Puff who was ordered by Bowser to take over Flower Fields. He was eager to betray him and told Mario where his machines where. He states how he was used by Huff N Puff to block the sun. He wants to make things right.


Lakilester- is a unique character in the Paper Mario Game. The main reason is because he was a bad guy at first. Yet he became a good guy and tried to make things right. He really showed that he was a good guy at heart. He was tricked into becoming a bad guy. He actually did it to become more respected and to be more impressive. Unknown to him though Flower Fields already respected him and where impressed by him. He seems to gain more respect after helping Mario in his quest. He proves to be a useful ally to Mario and his friends. Mario and his Friends where also so accepting of him despite him helping Bowser. This is likely due to him wanting to make things right and providing key information on Bower's army and bosses. Anyway, this concludes his biography.
