Paper Mario 64 introduced a lot of new characters. A lot of these characters would end up becoming mainstays in Mario games. A group of characters that first appeared in Paper Mario 64 was the 7 elite star spirits. Klevar is one of the 7 elite star spirits, so lets learn about him.

Klevar origins are unknown, but it was likely that he was born as a star kid. Most likely he was chosen by Eldstar to be one of the 7 elite star spirits. Regardless he is an elite star spirit that helps watch over the Star Rod in Star Haven. In addition, he also helps grant wishes to those that are worthy, have good moral character, and are not selfish.

One day Bowser and his Army invaded Star Haven. Bowser frustrated that his wishes were not being granted, because he was selfish, wanted power, and to defeat Mario, decided to steal the star rod for himself. He also imprisoned the 7 star spirits. Klevar was imprisoned and given to Huff N Puff to guard in Flower Fields. Bowser now enhanced then invaded the Mushroom Kingdom and kidnapped Peach. Mario tried to save the day but he was no match for the new enhanced Bowser. Bowser sent him flying out of the castle.

Mario was injured and knocked out. Klevar was seen along with the other star spirits appearing in Mario's vision. When Mario recovered and went to Star Haven. The 7 elite star spirits used their last power to tell Mario the situation.

After Klevar was liberated his power was restored. He helped Mario in his quest. He is last seen in the ending of the game appearing in Star Haven with the star rod fully restored. Klevar along with the other elite star spirits appear in future games to also aid Mario and his friends.

Appearance- It is hinted he might be the youngest star spirit. He is a yellow star with a coral colored bow tie. He also has pink coral freckles on each side. He is always carrying a book similar to his fellow star spirit Skolar.

Personality- His name is a pun on the world clever. Like Skolar he is always studying and trying to solve problems. He is very intelligent and cheerful. In addition, he is shown to be thankful for Mario liberating him.

Abilities- As I stated he is always learning and trying to solve problems. His biggest ability is his time out move. After Mario liberates him he lets Mario use this ability. Klevar will appear and freeze the enemy in battle. This means that the enemy will not be able to attack for a few turns.

Allies

His colleagues- He is close to the other star spirts. He looks up to Eldstar. He is also close to Skolar. This is because Klevera and SKholar both study, are always learning, and trying to solve problems. The other star spirits are like siblings to him.

Twink- He is close to Twink because of Twink's cheerful personality, him trying to help Peach, and how Twink helps defeat Bowser at the end.

Peach- Like the other star spirits he considers Peach to be worthy, and noble.

Mario- He helps Mario in his quest and knows that Mario is the last hope. He also is thankful for Mario freeing him. At the end he helps Mario defeat Bowser.

Mario Party Members- He is close to all of Mario's helpers due to them helping Marion in his quest.

Enemies-

Bowser- Like the other star spirits he considers Bowser evil, dishonest, selfish, and not having good intentions. He does not like Bowser due to his latest antics.

Kammy Koopa- She helped Bowser breach Star Haven so it is likely he does not like her.

Huff N Puff- He does not like Huff N Puff because he works for Bowser and is one of his minions. Second Huff N Puff blocked the sun from the flowers which he hated.

In summary, Klevar is an intelligent star spirit who goes out of his way to help Mario. He is also cheerful. IT is hinted that he loves trees and flowers. After Mario defeats Huff N Puff Klevar states now the trees and flowers can see the light again. This is such a lovely place. Therefore, he has become an important character in the Mario franchise.
