Web Spider is a reploid, cyborgs that have human traits, that first appeared in Mega Man X4. As his name implies he is based off of a spider. During the tragic war between the Maverick Hunters and Repliforce he was labled a maverick, which are reploids that pose a danger to the world. Let's learn about Web Spider.


Even though he first appeared in Mega Man X4 it is revealed he has been around for a while. It is speculated he may have been built by Cain Labs. He was once a Maverick Hunter in the elite 0 unit. This likely means he worked closely with Magnet Centipede and Blast Hornet. Zero was over the 0 unit so he also reported to Zero. Web Spider won several medals and awards for being an excellent maverick hunter.

At some time he transferred to Repliforce to be an officer in their army. The Maverick Hunters did not mind this as at that time they were on good terms with Repliforce. Repliforce was originally created to help the Maverick Hunters and to be police in their own right. As an officer he reported directly to the Colonel and General. Once again he earned respect in organizations outside of Repliforce. He was well respected and continued to earn awards as well as medals for his service.

Spider was put over the Jungle Unit and guarded a repliforce cannon in the Jungle. At that time Repliforce did not want their weapons following in Maverick Hands. However, war soon broke out. Sigma ordered a traitor to crash the sky lagoon city down at the surface. Maverick Hunters and Repliforce both arrived to help. However, Repliforce refused to surrender for questioning. The General and Colonel decided that they would create their own nation with reploids only. Thus, a coupe started. The Maverick Hunters and Repliforce fought in a civil war. Only to realize at the end it was Sigma behind it all after 90% of both armies were destroyed.

Spider being torn between surrendering to his old friends and loyalty to his duties, decided to join the Coupe. X and Zero went to the Jungle to retrieve the cannon so it could not be used against the world. Eventually, they encountered their former comrade. They gave him a chance to surrender. Instead Spider said as an officer it was his duty to fight to the end. That proved to be foolish as X and Zero destroyed Web Spider and retrieved the cannon securing the area in the process.

Appearance- As I stated Web Spider is based off a spider. He has large pincers with multiple lens for eyes. He has a blue helmet. His armor is green and yellow. He also has a large abdomen

Personality- Spider is a dedicated officer. Early on he had a high sense of honor. He was well respected and enjoyed his role. When he transferred organization he was considered the ideal officer. He looked up to his superiors and his troops under him respected him. He also respects soldiers under him. It is shown he believes in destiny as he believes him, X, and Zero are destined to fight in wars and serve. Basically, he knows no life outside of the military. He is strongly loyal and prideful. The later leads to his downfall as he refused to even listen to X and Zero.

Abilities- Web Spider has excellent vision due to all his eyes having telescope like lens. This allows him to see opponents all around him. Having superior vision is probably why he is trusted with guarding the cannon. He can produce electricity and spin webs with electricity. Moreover, he can send small versions of himself out as bombs. He uses guerrilla like tactics in battle ambushing his opponents. It should be noted he is fast and agile.

Attacks- Spider has several ways to attack. He loves to ambush his opponents by coming out of the trees. He likes to use guerrilla like tactics in battle. His main attack is his lightning web. Spider can shoot out a web that can trap and electrocute his opponent. His other attack is his mini spider attack. In this attack Web Spider will send out mini versions of himself out. The mini spiders search the ground, walk around and then explode like bombs.

Weakness- He is week to the slasher weapons. Both of these weapons cut him down. It will also cut his webs down. In addition, it keeps him from using his guerrilla tactics. Another weakness is he can sometimes follow a simple pattern letting the player get some shots in before he fires his weapons.

If the player defeats him they will get his lightning web. X can use the web to shock enemies. In addition, he can use the web as a platform to reach hard places. Zero can use an electric dagger stab attack. This attack is very powerful as Zero saber is charged with electricity.

Height- Unknown since he is a spider and is never seen standing up.

Weight- Due to being agile and the ability to spin webs it is speculated he is less than 136 kilograms or 300 pounds.

Speed- He is fast and agile

Overall, Web Spider can be seen as a tragic figure. He was once a Maverick Hunter and transferred to another unit. He had a good relationship with everybody until the war started. He was a dedicated solider for peace until the events of Mega Man X4. X and Zero felt remorse for destroying him due to being a former comrade to them. He was not really a bad guy and he was not infected with the virus. He was caught in a war that saw 90% of both armies get wiped out. Only for it to be Sigma behind it all. However, his traits did lead to his downfall. He could have surrendered and not join the coupe. He could have been questioned and would have been released. Instead he chose to join the coupe which was foolish. Therefore, it could be argued that his own actions lead to him getting destroyed.

It should be noted he is another Maverick Hunter in the 0 unit to end up in a tragic death. Magnet Centipede was an officer in the 0 unit but ended up becoming infected. Blast Hornet was also an officer and ended up getting infected. Spider did not become infected but joined a coupe and was killed. This concludes the Web Spider Bio
