Jet Stingray is a reploid, cyborgs with human traits, that appeared in Mega Man X4. He was later labeled a maverick, reploids who pose a danger to the world, in a tragic war. He was caught in the tragic war between the Maverick Hunters and Repliforce. Anyway, lets learn about Stingray.


Jet Stingray was created by Repliforce. Repliforce was created to assist the Maverick Hunters and was a world peace organization. Stingray quickly rose up in the naval ranks quickly achieving the rank of Captain. He eventually was in charge of an entire naval unit. He patrolled the area he was assigned to with pride. He protected the area he was assigned to from maverick activity. He also served in a coast guard role protecting his area from poachers, polluters, and other criminal activity. As an officer Jet Stingray really looked up to the Colonel and the General. He was very loyal to his two superior officers. He was highly respected outside of the repliforce.

However, after mavericks under the control of Sigma sent the Sky Lagoon City crashing. Repliforce was asked to come to Maverick Hunter HQ for questioning. Repliforce being military refused to surrender. The General and Colonel decide to build a reploid only nation with no humans present. Sigma kept manipulating both the Maverick Hunters and Repliforce. Both armies started to fight each other in a civil war, which proved to be tragic for both armies. Out of loyalty to the General and Colonel Jet Stingray joined the military coupe.

To cause confusion and a distraction he sabotaged an underground power plant causing mass panic, anarchy, and confusion. When it was discovered he was responsible. X and Zero went to his Naval Base in attempt to stop the coupe and to bring Stingray to justice. X and Zero really wanted to question him to get to the bottom on who was pulling the strings in the coupe. Jet Stingray had ordered his troops under him to put booby traps around the base. X and Zero eventually made their way to him. He foolishly challenged the two Maverick Hunters to a duel. He was destroyed in the process. He died in the sea he swore to protect. He also died as a military disgrace, and a person who lost all respect.

Appearance- Jet Stingray is based off the Stingray a sea animal that usually leaves at the bottom of the ocean. He has aqua, blue, and yellow/gold armor. He has a long tail with a long stinger at the end of it.

Personality- Jet Stingray was a prideful soldier and originally had honor. He patrolled and protected his area with pride. He originally had a strong sense of justice as part of his job. This is why he was respected outside of his organization. He was also very loyal. On the other hand, his pride and loyal traits lead to his downfall. After the Coupe Stringray was no longer full of honor. All he cared about was being loyal. He also became full of rage. He also started to harass people even X and Zero daring them to chase him in his base. It is highly speculated that due to his personality changed he became infected by the Sigma Virus. That would explain why his personality changed.

Abilities- Jet Stingray is very fast in the water. He can fire min versions of himself to hunt his opponents. Even though he prefers the water he is seen being able to fight on land although he is a little slower. As his name implies he can also fly and glide a little bit. He is also able to grab and sting his opponents.

Attacks- Jet Stingray has several ways to attack. His main attack is to use his ground hunter attack. Stingray will fire mini versions of himself. The mini versions will hunt for his opponent then explode on contact. He can also swoop and grab his opponent. Another powerful attack is his big tackle. In this attack he will grab his opponent and tackle them against the wall doing massive damage. Another powerful attack is Stingray will come under his opponent uppercut them and sting them with his stinger in the process.

Weakness- Jet Stingray is weak to ice. Any ice weapon freezes him, but its frost tower that does the most damage to him. He is also weak to the frost saber as well. The ice freezes him in place and makes him not able to use his most powerful attacks. One reason Ice is probably his weakness is Stingrays are found in warm waters in the ocean. They cannot tolerate the cold.

If the player defeats him they will gain two weapons. X will take his ground hunter weapon. X will send small stingrays that will explode on contact. Zero will gain a dash attack weapon. Zero will be able to dash and attack with his saber after defeating him.

Power- he has good power due to his attack power

Speed- it varies when he is in the water he is very fast on land he is still mobile, but not as quick.

In Summary, Jet Stingray was once an officer with great honor. He was well respected not only by his peers but by other organizations. However, his pride and loyalty that made him great also lead to his downfall. He refused to surrender and joined the coupe out of loyalty. He also turned to maverick activity. He died as a military disgrace and as a traitor as well as non respected person. A far cry from what he originally was. He could be considered a tragic figure as he was a victim of the Maverick Hunters and Repliforce civil war which would destroy 90% of both armies. It was later revealed Sigma was behind the entire thing. On the other hand, he could have not joined the coupe. Anyway this concludes the Jet Stringray biography.
