Gravity Beetle is a reploid, cyborgs that have human features such as DNA, logical thinking, feelings, and can make their own decisions, who appeared in Mega Man X3. He would join the Mavericks, reploids who pose a danger to the world, so lets learn about Gravity Beetle.


Even though, Gravity Beetle appeared in Mega Man X3 he was actually around for the events of the first game. He was built from the same DNA as Boomer Kuwanger this made him and Kuwanger brothers. Both Kuwanger and Beetle are based on the beetle insect species. Kuwanger was based off the Stag Beetle while Gravity Beelte was based off of the Rhino Beetle. Like his brother he was part of the elite 17th Maverick Hunter Unit. He was known to be effective in combat using his weapon to hold enemies in place. He could also use his weight as a weapon and stab with his horns on his face.

Gravity Beetle saw his brother become a Maverick when he followed Sigma. X had to destroy his brother. Beetle swore revenge even though is brother was in the wrong. He was so consumed with revenge he could not see his brother had to be destroyed due to being a Maverick. He went into hiding for several decades. When he heard that Doppler was revolting in Doppler Town, it was later revealed it was Sigma pulling the strings, He hijacked a transport vehicle from the Maverick Hunters. He converted what he had captured into an aerial fortress. He also took over an air force base near Doppler Town. He would use the air force base to move supplies for Doppler later Sigma's forces.

Beetle knew that his actions would lead to X or Zero to come for him. He waited for his chance to fight the two hunters especially X which he had a grudge against. He planned to fight the two hunters to the death. He is eventually encountered by both X and Zero. Despite putting up a fight he is destroyed by them. With Beetle destroyed. The Doppler Forces could no longer use the air base he captured. He also recaptured all the aircraft and transport vehicles he had stolen from the Maverick Hunters.

Appearance- Beetle is a mostly blue type maverick with horns as part of his face. He is also very bulky.

Personality- He was loyal to his brother and was close to him. After his brother's death he is consumed with rage. He holds grudges as he cannot see that his brother was a danger. He appears to be a planner as he went into hiding for several decades before reemerging . When he emerged he joined Doppler's revolt and set a trap for the Maverick Hunters. Unlike other mavericks who were manipulated or infected by Sigma. Beetle joined them just out of hatred for X and Zero. Basically, he just wanted revenge. On the other hand, he had a do not care attitude. In one scene he does not care that he burns almost an entire city down. He also does not care what happens due to his actions.

Abilities- Beetle has the ability to alter gravity with his gravity weapon he can hold opponents in place for a while. While is one of the slower mavericks he makes up for it in power. He loves to use his weight as an advantage. In addition, he can gore opponents.

Attacks- His Gravity well is powerful plasma shots that can grow in size if they bounce. He can also use them to hold his opponents in place temporarily. In addition, he can charge his weapon to pull opponents closer to him so he can hit them. His other powerful attack is his gore attack. Beetle will use his horns and gore his opponents sending them flying across the room. He can also jump and try to smash the player. It should be noted when he fully charges his gravity well this gives him the ability to jump higher. In fact, he has to use this to jump high due to being heavy as well as bulky.

Weakness-He is weak to the Ray Splash weapon. This weapon takes him down quickly. It also keeps him from using some of his other attacks. One reason is the ray splash is a powerful light weapon that works with a machine gun. Since Gravity Beetle is a Beetle the light could hurt him or stun him. Regardless it is his main weakness. Another weakness is he is not very mobile due to his bulk armor and weight. The player can use his lack of speed to their advantage if they have the right power ups though, just be sure not to get caught by him or the player will end up getting gored.

If the player defeats him they will get his gravity well weapon. The player can use it to hold enemies in place whil damaging them. Fully charged the player can even more some machinery platforms to reach higher places.

Gravity Beetle- is a complex individual. Since his brother was killed he could seen as a sympathetic character as he was just close to his brother and wanted revenge. However, his brother had become a danger and needed to be killed by the Maverick Hunters. Beetle gets so consumed of hate and revenge he basically looses his mind and becomes a maverick himself.
