Bald Bull is one of the most recognizable characters from the Punch Out series. This character has also appeared in other games outside of Punch Out. When people think of Punch out, chances are this character will come up in discussions. So just who is Bald Bull? Well we are going to learn about this character.

Bald Bull first appeared in the very first punch out game. A mid 1980's arcade game. Since then he has been in every punch out game and other games as well. He is known as one of the hardest punchers in the game.

Not much is known about Bald Bull's early life. He is from Instanbull Turkey. Given that he has appeared in wrestling arcade games. He was likely a Turkish wrestler at some point. It is rumored that even though this real life wrestler is from Iran the Iron Sheik may have inspired some of his design. Both characters have a similar mustache and both characters are bald. That has not been confirmed. But given how a real life wrestler inspired another Punch Out Character (Super Macho Man) it is possible that Sheik may have inspired Bald Bull. Like Macho Man Bald Bull is a villain in the boxing ring. Iron Sheik was a top villain in wrestling when these games first came out.

Anyway, Bald Bull at some turned to boxing. He ended up being very good winning championships. He quickly rose up in the ranks and even wore the top belt for a time before being defeated by Super Macho Man and later Mr. Sandman. Still, he is a top title contender. He is infamous for his powerful charging attacks that can knock out his opponents quickly. It was described as a bull charging which is most likely how he got his name. Obviously he embraced it calling himself Bald Bull.

Attack wise Bald Bull has powerful attacks. He loves to make opponents think he is going to throw a right handed punch only to hit them with the left. Likewise sometimes he acts like he is going to hit the player (who controls Mac) with a left only to hit them with a right jab. He has some randomness to him. This can make fighting him even more difficult. He also has a powerful uppercut that can stun the player putting them in danger of being knocked down. His most brutal attack is his bull charge. He will turn red and rush at the player hitting them with a powerful punch. One punch from the Bull Charge will knock the player down or knock them out.

He also has incredible stamina as he is able to take a star punch without going down. Also he takes several punches to take down. In addition, he can quickly get back up.

He does have a slight weakness though. Before he throws an uppercut there will be a few seconds delay. This is when the player can hit him with a star punch. On the other hand, the player has to be quick to pull this out. Basically, fighting Bald Bull is a lot of luck.

Personality Wise: He takes his role being a top contender very seriously. He is a very serious boxer and it is implied he wants to be champion again. He also loves his country as in some games he has the Turkish Flag and motto on his trunks. However, it is shown that he does not like reporters and journalists taking pictures of him. In fact, this really annoys him. In one scene reporters and journalists took pictures of him relaxing in his pool in his house, took pictures of him traning, and just being on his property. The next scene shows them running when he does his bull charge at them. It seems that Bald Bull does not want a lot of attention. He just wants to train hard, train well, be a top contender, and eventually champion. But outside of the ring he just wants to be left alone. This is mostly the source of his temper.

He also loves to laugh at the player if he knocks them out. Then he will do a dance making a championship symbol around his waist. During intermissions he will taunt the player. In the Championship mode he will use his bull charge and chase everyone out of the ring including the ref. According to translators he is saying I will knock out anyone who looks at me the wrong way. This could be implying how reporters and journalists hounded him outside of the ring.

As I mentioned earlier Bald Bull has appeared in every punch out game as well as wrestling games. Game Pro called him one of the most iconic characters from the punch out series. Game Pro also stated Bald Bull is such a hard opponent that it is a thrill and celebration just to knock him out for the first time. This is recognizing the characters difficulty in the game.
