Yamato Man is a robot master that first appeared in Mega Man 6. He is a Japanese themed robot master. He is also one of my four favorites from the game. The others being Tomahawk Man, Wind Man, and Knight Man. Anyway, lets learn about this robot master.

Yamato Man was built by a Japanese company. He was based on a Japanese Samurai. He was 1 out of 3 robot masters from Mega Man 6 specifically designed for combat. The others where Tomahawk Man and Knight Man.

He originally was built to put on Samurai shows using actual weapons. He was a great fighter and skilled in martial arts. The company that made him decided to enroll him in the world tournament hosted by Mister X. The tournament turned out to be a ruse. As Mister X (Dr. Wily in disguise) admitted he was taken over the world. He captured Yamato Man along with the other robot masters to use in his latest world domination scheme.

His original armor was very heavy and he could not move that much. His company changed the armor to make him more agile. It greatly increased his offense capabilities but it lowered his defense. Still he makes up for it with his powerful offense. Color wise he has purple armor with some blue on it. He also has orange. He has red on his armor too. In some of his earlier artwork he had a red circle representing the Japanese Flag. As Japan is known as the land of the rising sun.

Yamato Man has several ways to attack. He can fire sharp spear projectiles that can cut through steel from his buster cannon. His other main attack is throwing his very sharp spear. However, he has to run real quick to retrieve it. He is also very good at hand to hand combat as he knows several martial arts. Being a Samurai he will fight till he can no longer fight.

His weaknesses is he does not have the best defense, but he makes up for this with his speed and offense. When he throws his spear and has to retrieve it he is open to attacks even if he uses his buster cannon. He is also weak to Silver Tomahawk. Silver Tomahawk cuts through his armor.

He set up a base near Mount Fuji as Mount Fuji is in the background. The sun is in his background. This could be a note to how Japan is known as the land of the rising sun. His base is built like a samurai fortress. After all he is based off a Japanese samurai. Eventually, he was defeated by Mega Man.

Personality wise he is extremely shy. This could be due to his samurai nature. As the samurai where known to be quite fighters. He also is a big spender and loves to gamble. He has a high sense of honor being a Japanese and samurai robot. He is shown to be good friends with Knight Man. As they both have a sense of honor about them. He can also come across as a Japanese Nationalist. He believes everything made in Japan is superior. He also loves his country's history and thinks its the greatest nation.

When he is not fighting. He collects all kinds of Japanese Swords. He also is known to make swords when he has the time.

In conclusion, Yamato Man takes his country very seriously. He is a skilled robot master in martial arts. He has powerful weapons. His name simply means home in Japan and is a common name. Even Japan's royal family has used the name Yamato. He has a high sense of honor. As I stated he is one of my favorite robot masters from the game.
