One of the most first world problems i know some of us go through as gamers. A huge backlogs of games. How does this happens? SALES!
I found good games on sale, buy them up and leave them rotting away in my backlog because i keep going to same 3 games over and over.

I have like just under 100 games in backlog on Steam. Some of them are not very interesting indie games from years ago, Steam sales, or Humble Bundle monthly.

How big is your backlog of games?

I've never been one to fall for sales or anything, I only ever got games I was actually interested to and attempted to complete (even if it wasn't in a single run because of whatever reason).

My backlog currently consists of two games. KOF XV is still almost untouched, save for some training done to see the changes and what not, and New Pokemon Snap saw its progress halted so I could move on to other games I was more interested in completing. All the rest of games I own were either played extensively on their time, even if I haven't booted them up in a long while, or I dedicate some time to them every now and then.

supercool22 : I have every of my physical copy of console games in one single stack, and DS and 3DS games in the case. I have not counted, but I would estimate both of them would be around 20 or so.

Just from steam alone I have at least 270 which most are from humble bundle. (Steam says I have 292 in my library.)

If I were to include PS4/3ds/Switch add at least 30 more.

If I were to go with the number of games I am actually interested in I am going to shrink that down to like 10 but I keep going back to the same games I have beat before.

supercool22 : I have over hundreds of games at really any given time I could dive into but I tend to go back on my old habbits and play games I've been playing dozens of hours of, Splatoon 3 is a good example of that. In fairness I've been going a bit out of my way to play some of the games I've gotten and really enjoyed myself with some, but I still don't necessarily tend to go outside of the few games I constant.

i have so many games from nintendo switch, sega genesis, ds, xbox 360, playstation, and 3ds i tend to go back on the games that i played when i was a kid. like pokemon yellow for example.

it is...rather big, honestly. according to backloggery I have 330 games that I haven't finished and another 132 games that I have finished but haven't fully completed. I'm sure there's probably more that I've forgotten to put in, too

hmm I played and beat most of my games back when they were new.

Now that I'm married and my husband's and my games are mixed, I say my backlog is huge. Game count up and over 20 games from ps1 to ps4, 360 and now Switch games was added. XD Oh and my guy loves to add to the backlog. lol

Now that I plan to do let's plays of all of the games in my backlog.

As of right now, my backlog is like at 14 games. Not only I want to play some current games that I haven’t even touched yet, but also some classics that I want to relive and enjoy for reviews and such to better comprehend the graphics and gameplay of the games. It doesn’t help that right now I’ve been playing is Street Fighter 6 and Diablo IV on my spare time but I really need to get going on the ones I haven’t touched yet

Right now my backlog is well over 200 or 300 games. I still have a bunch of games that I need to play for reviews and streams that I haven't gotten around to yet even though I've been getting like 3 or 4 per week. And then don't even get me started on the games that I buy, which is even more.

I maybe in the minority here, but I do not have that many backlogsg of games. The reason is I pretty much play my games. However, It is easy to get a backlog especially when a lot of new games come out at once. This happened to me in 1996 and 1999 especially around Christmas. I got Mega Man 7, Donkey Kong Country 2 and Donkey Kong Country 3 back in 1996. The games were so addictive I had to play through one before I started on the other one. It took me a few months to complete all 3. In 1999, for Christmas I got the original Play station. I got a lot of games, Bust a move 99, Tiny Tank, Mega Man 8, Mega Man X4, and Mega Man Legends. I had a huge backlog and I did not complete playing through all the games until Summer 2000. By then I had gotten a few more games mainly baseball.

Even though it has not happened to me in a long time. The examples I gave is why it is so easy to get a backlog.

Does it depend on the format? I have plenty of PC games on me (I lost count most of them I don't play or can't play), plus at least less than ten but more than five Nintendo DS games, other than that I also have my Sega Genesis Mini (I didn't get the Mini 2 as it was an amazon exclusive)

Right now my backlog is at around 500 games. Ever since I took over as the owner of a Nintendo website, the number of games that I'm required to play for review purposes has tripled over the last few months. As a result, whenever I get a new game for me that I want to play, it now goes on the backburner since the games that I'm sent to review have to take priority before I can get to the games that I really want to play, which has been taking a really long time.

If your talking about the games that I play on the Xbox, and that I use, about 500, but if your talking about the games that I own, that like 3.

I told myself not to buy another handful of games without completing the many other backlog of games in my library, but nooooo, steam had to put such good games i wanted to play on sale this winter. I also forgot to paused my humble bundle choice subscription a few times already. My backlog has gotten a bit bigger. Can't wait to get to the new games i have.

You guys are insane. 100 or more backlog!? I might have like 5 games I bought, thinking I might play, but never did.

Since almost half a year ago, my backlog has increased. It went from 14 games to 30 games at this moment, mostly due to me playing EA FC religiously every time and playing the games that the gang be playing when they’re on. If anything I would want to start playing the games once the EA FC cycle is over and start with the Metal Gear Solid series that I recently bought for my Xbox. Slowly work my way and enjoy a variety of games again.

My backlog supposedly only sits at 26 currently but I'd almost guarantee that's inaccurate I mean I spent 10 years playing MC way too much I'm definitely forgetting other games I've not made time for yet.

I recently got into a Steam Family sharing group with a couple of friends and due to the build up of each others backlog over the years my library of games I have yet to touch has increased to 500+, before that I only really brought what I was intending to play so while I had a somewhat of a backlog it wasn't as big as it is currently.

I don't have a concrete number for how big my game backlog is, but I know it falls somewhere between 2 and 3 dozen. Nothing crazy, but still more than I'd like it to be, nonetheless. I just started playing on my Playstation again recently, so I hope to slowly chip away at a few of the games rotting in my backlog.
