Red was the leader of Red Alert. He appeared in Mega Man X7. Red is more of an Anti-Hero than a true villain. Here is more about his background.

Not much is known about Red's Background. Although it is speculated that he was an officer of the Repliforce. This is due to his organization's R logo is almost Identical to the old Repliforce logo. It is believed during the war that he got wounded and that is why he wears an eye patch. Almost all other Repliforce members died during the war or perished during the events of Mega Man X5. While this has not been confirmed by Capcom it would make sense. This could explain why he is distrusting toward the Maverick Hunters and organizations in general.

A long time after Mega Man X6 Red founded Red Alert. His organization was a group of vigilantes. Red filled the void of X. X feeling guilty of the reploid wars decided to step back. Zero just woke up from his debugging in Mega Man X6. Red's organization was going good. Red lead his organization to victory several times.

Red though had conflicts with the Maverick Hunters even though he wanted the same goal to put down Mavericks. The problem was Red did not follow the morals or laws that the Maverick Hunters had to follow. Red was shown to be very ruthless. He did not care about laws. However, he was considered a hero to the world due to his organization putting down Maverick revolts.

Red really cared about his members especially Axle. Axle later defected to the Maverick Hunters this angered Red who considered the Hunters meddling in his organization. However, Red also came into contact with Sigma. Sigma infected his organization and threatened Red that he would kill all of Red Alerts members. Red does Sigma's bidding.

He launches a war against the Maverick Hunters saying he wants Axle back. Axle tells the Hunters why he left. Even though it appears Red is a bad guy now he is not really infected.

Unlike previous mavericks. Red knows he is being manipulated by Sigma. He even tells Axle to stop Sigma. Out of loyalty to his organization he engages the Hunters including former colleague Axle. He is defeated by X, Zero, and Axle.

As he is defeated, he tells the Hunters how remorseful he is and explains how Sigma corrupted his organization. He says out of remorse he set his base to self destruct and how he is going to commit suicide since he has been disgraced. Axle begs him to come alone. Instead he tells Axle how proud of him he is and how it is his time to go.

This is Red's Bio. He is a capable leader, and really cares for his organization's members. His downfall is he is not trusting. Due to not being really a villain in the first place. Red is often considered another tragic victim in the X franchise.
