Why my PS4 controller isn't charging?

Recently I bought a ps4 controller (a genuine one) and I played with it for a few days. Today, when I finished playing gta v for about 1 hour, I plugged the controller on a USB wire connected to my PC. However, the controller didn't begin to pulse as sual. I'm afraid the controller isn't charging anymore, is this normal? MOD EDIT-- Just removing a bot link!

In my experience it's likely a crappy micro USB cable. Try switching it out with a few different ones or ones that you know works.

For some reason certain Micro USB cables don't work across the platform for charging.

Even if it's a genuine controller, where did you buy it from? If it's pre owned it could have already been broken or damaged. in some way.

Since you were connecting a PS4 controller to a PC, there could have also been a problem with the driver so the PC isn't reading that the controller is even there.

In addition to there being problems with the USB such as bending it too many times to the point it breaks, there could be something wrong with the port on the PC like something inside that's blocking the cable.
