This is one of my hobbies. I do tarot card readings as well as rune stone readings. I also have a scrying crystal for simple questions and am working on prophecy stones.

I started to learn reading tarot cards before high school when one of my neighbors tought me and I just picked it up from there myself and tought myself most of what I know.

What are your personal experiance with divination and it's tools? Do you do it yourself? Have you had it done for you?

Also, as always, I will be more than happy to answer questions on any of the methods.

It was really hard for me to learn tarot because I never had any sort of instruction. I was told, "What do the cards tell you?" and went from there. I have yet to find a scrying crystal, simply because I have yet to have one 'call out' to me. I have a feeling that when I do find the right crystal, it'll be a very powerful tool for me.

Oh yes, that is a very important thing to keep in mid with any divination tool. It has to have a special feeling for you. Any will do to learn, but to get the best possible response from them, you must have a special link with it. I have one that I found at the renfair and I still remember the way is sort of just drew me to it. I bought it without even thinking about it.

My friend has this really awesome crystal ball.. and he let me hold it.. and without thinking about it, I sat there meditating for the whole of lunch hour stroking it. I really didn't want to give it back, because I was SO drawn to it.

LOL, well I can see that being a problem unless your friend wants to give it up, which I doubt. Crystal balls, as well as scrying mirrors are very expensive. Before I move on to that type of scrying, I'm going to practice with a bowl of water. It works just as well.

Well, for now I have my tarot cards, which I am getting rather good with; and my scrying crystal. I have done some work with Prophet's Pebbles, but WhiteRose is better with them than I am. My current scrying crystal is actually a necklace that she gave me, a crystal set in pewter with a spider on it. For the most part it works well, but I have not touched it much in awhile... been sticking to the cards.

Actually... there's this place down here that sells things rather cheaply (in my opinion). His crystal ball was about 5 inches in diameter and only cost around $15. He also got a small crystal wand from that place. I haven't been able to go there yet, but once I find out it's location, and once I have the money, I'm goin'..>.>

I wan to learn the different divination forms but I'm still trying to just get past learning the basic information about my own religion that WhiteRose pretty much has memorized verbatim.

need to find bookstore with good resource material.

Actually Pockets, Points of Light in Long Beach has a really good selection last time I checked on druidry and just paganism all together. I love that shop!

Mike, this is a warning. Please make sure you put a little more to your post here.

Pocket, I think you might want to try your hand at Rune stones. I get the feeling you would do well with those.

Tarot is fun.. works well.

I have done scrying crystals although not my own...

The most success i ever had was with a little trick from Raven Grimassi, with the bowl of water... worked well

I've read about that trick, but I forgot how to do it... care to refresh my memory or point me to the book it's in?
