Therapist. Or just don’t play them and keep the negativity to yourself

Also I don’t like the IV’s either but they’re not important in Pokémon games unless you are trying to battle against other competitors and tournaments so... yeah

IVs add a "theoretically" random nature to the game, to keep it from being 100% exactly the same every single time.

For the casual gamer, it adds a level of nuance that makes the game more realistic, and adds some (albeit minimal) source of replay value. After all, not every person or dog or 300 foot super demon god is made equal. They will each have their own individual strengths and weaknesses.

It's a completely logical addition to the franchise, even if they are annoying to deal with if you play competitively. It was these competitive gamers that broke it open and made it a necessity to use to win.

Sounds to me like you just need to admit that if you were ever going to play the games... you'd be a casual gamer of it. Not a hardcore/competitive one. And that's fine. That's what 90% of players are. Casual gamers of the series. I myself am a casual gamer of the series.

It's not about "gitting gud". It's about figuring out what you want out of the game, and getting it. For some people, it's completing the pokedex. For some it's merely completing the easy to clear story. For some it's about collecting shiny pokemon. For some it's about min-maxing their squads for competitive play. It's possible none of those appeal to you, but there's a reason it's a widespread phenomenon that has lasted 20+ years. Because it appeals to a wide variety of people who all have different tastes in what they believe a Pokemon game should be.

Worth noting, but in the most recent installment, they've changed IVs a little bit, and it's become a lot easier to raise that "min-max god" that a minority of the population is actually after.

IV's are only a problem with competitive, while they are quite hard to get perfect, it isn't impossible. In fact newer gens make it even easier to get competitive pokemon. To the point where you can catch up to 5 perfect IV pokemon, outside of competitive, IV's don't serve much of a purpose as from my knowledge every trainer has 0IV's in every stat, so unless you are incredibly unlucky, you are always at an advantage.
