I got my 100th PS4 plat today and i was going to write about my experiences with every single one of them, however i didn't want to torture the people that stumble upon this thread with a literal wall of text.

Regardless it's been a fun time, Granted some of the games i've platted are very easy but meh. I'm just working through my library at this point.

I stopped playing games as heavily once I got into the workforce. Went from playing 100+ hours a week to playing maybe 20 hours a week, and I'm usually playing the same games over and over.

I'd show my card again, but I actually set my account (and most of my other social media!) to private a while back, because I've chosen to be more insular in my life.

Would love to see someone take up the PSN Power Rankings mantle, but I don't have time.

m0ssb3rg935 : All progress is good progress trust me. The key for me is to play multiple games so i don't just burn out playing the same game.

legacyme3 : Yeah, I still actually do that quite a bit. I tend to have a few games that i just play casually and they tend to change over time like most recently its mlb19 and football manager 2020.

I'd love to do the power rankings honestly. But i don't really know if there would be enough people to make it viable.

Nice. I have a few questions:

What would you say were your hardest and easiest plats respectively? Which was the most enjoyable? Is there any game you tried to plat but gave up on? Did you return to it later?

Personally I'm not really going for achievements/trophies anymore, I found it killed my enjoyment with some games as I became too obsessed with the trophy count and achieving them all in the shortest time span possible eventually causing me to burn out. With that said it's all the more impressive that you've managed to stick through it with 100 games. Must have been a true test of patience.

Hardest plat
I'm honestly not sure so i'll just write the first 5 that come to mind and why. I'm currently in the process of getting some more tiresome plats at the moment so this list might change in the next year for sure

1, FIFA 16- Sports games can be notorious to plat due to many of them having online trophies. Especially those that encourage spending of money for the chance to get better players
2 Night in the woods- Solely difficult due to the fact you have to play through the whole game 4-5 times.
3. Dirt 4- Not super hard, but has certain online trophies that can be hard to get
4. Final Fantasy 12- Not hard again, but is probably the longest game i have got a plat in. Some rare beasts are annoying to get as well.
5.Kotodama- This is the most irritated i've got at a game for sure. I think i played through this game over a dozen times...
Honorable mentions
Trulon, Horizon chase turbo and 428 shibuya scramble.

I wouldn't consider any of the plats i have hard though tbh..

Easiest plat
This ones easy, I have a fair number of plats that can easily be achieved by anyone. These games are usually made solely so that people hunting for trophies purchase them. I'm not gonna pretend that i'm above such practices either. I pretty much purchased most of these games when a friend i was having a friendly competition with bought a ton, so i did to nullify their cheap advantage.

Plat i gave up on
I'll give three answers for this

1. Modern Warfare Remastered- I've got every single trophy except one in this game, I've done the notorious ones like mile high club etc. I just haven't got the one for killing a person with every gun in the game... I spent 10 hours making sure i did this and yet it did not give it.. It was very vexing indeed
2. Hatsune Miku project Diva X
There is a trophy for beating the hardest song on an insane difficulty, Its for sure doable. But the amount of practice i would need to be able to do it would be hundreds of hours for sure.
3. Final Fantasy X
Dodging 200 lightning bolts in a row with my epilepsy is basically impossible. Now flashing lights don't give me seizures as far as i'm aware, but they still make me feel incredibly nauseous, especially when i have to concentrate on them. I've done trophies that require 24 hours straight of real time driving (twice in fact) or have more frantic flashing lights on them (persona dancing games) But i can beat these by going vacant and not concentrating this i cant.. and i dont want to injure myself doing so lol

That's a lot. I think I only have 3 in total. I can't be bothered with the ones that require you to be online and the ones that require you to beat the game over and over with different circumstances or difficulties.

sonicmcmuffin : That dodge 200 lightning strikes trophy for FFX is ridiculous. I'm not at that point in the game yet, but I know it will be a drag once I get there.

The only Final Fantasy trophy that I think tops this one in terms of difficulty is the Hail to the King trophy in FF9 which requires you to jump rope 1,000 times without tripping. After 200 and 300 jumps, the pace gets faster too. Many people use remote play and have it run an automated script just to get this trophy and I don't blame them. This was back when FF had some seriously ridiculous trophy requirements. And how could I forget killing 10,000 enemies? Also FF9. Also a pain.

Final Fantasy do sometimes have some really irritating things in them.

Just to name a couple more.

-Gold chocobo breeding ff7
- Rare beast hunting ff12
- Games like 13-2 that basically need you to 100% everything etc.

I'm oddly enough waiting for ff13 to get ported one day hopefully. I hated the game when it came out and never really got to beat it or play the later 2 games. (Even though i bought both on release).

Currently in the progress of doing everything in Metal Gear Solid V which is a fun time...

Worth noting but the Final Fantasy platinums were also some of my favorites to earn. The FFX and XIII-2 platinums in particular were a lot of fun to work through (never bothered to finish XIII's, and I may go back to XII sometime down the line, I just don't enjoy the hunting, and that's what's mainly left for me besides the grind to 99).

legacyme3 : I honestly didn't have a problem with 12's Trophy list. Granted 12 was a game i played a ton of before the remaster so i probably found it less tedious than others.

Luckily the 12 trophy list doesn't demand you get the strongest weapons in the game otherwise that can be a nightmare.

There's not a level trophy either if i recall. So no need to get to 99?

Could be wrong though it was a good 2 1/2 years ago.

Pretty sure there are some bosses (Yiazmat maybe, unless I'm forgetting someone) that are only really stressfree at higher levels. I'm sure I could set an auto-gambit, but part of the game is having fun, and that's always been the part of XII I've liked the least.

It's one of my favorite games. But the gambit system is so annoying to me, I usually turn them off for my main character, and only leave them on for my allies.

I'd like to go back and platinum Zodiac Age as well, but the amount of grinding is unreal. The furthest I've gotten in the original PS2 version couldn't even get me along in the lower levels of the Pharos. I'd completed most hunts, but I just couldn't make my way through those lower levels. The best grinding spot I'd found was that hill in Nabreus where all the skeletons spawn. I'd managed to rig it up where I could leave it alone and have it auto grind, but with the introduction of the job system, I found it a little more difficult to be able to leave it alone since I couldn't give every character healing magic. Unless I'm remembering wrong.

Is that the best grinding spot and method or is there better?

m0ssb3rg935 : Honestly speaking when i platted Final fantasy 12, I don't really remember having to grind at all. The only fight i recall having an issue with was yiazmat (the one with like 50 m hp) and that's only because i was under leveled... and a lot of his attacks could mostly one shot a character.

Honestly it's usually just about making a gambit system that takes care of most of the work for you.... If all else fails you can grind for the better weapons or if you feel up to it get 3 seitengrats to basically coast through the game.

I would like to point out that i did explore a lot more than one would if using a guide or anything though, I did all of the game (except for the beast hunts) without a guide so ended up running through a lot of areas multiple times..
