Video game series can get really bad and dwindle to a shadow of their original form. Some prime examples of this are.

- Most sports franchises.
- The 2000's Spyro games.
- The 2000's Crash games.
- Paper Mario.
- The Sims.

And many, many more. Is there any series that you used to love, that you just can't get into anymore?

personally i can think of several series id like to see reach a conclusion. not because i dislike them but because if they dont end ill never catch up lol.

Plain and simple, the Bayonetta and Leisure Suit Larry series. Given how exceedingly absurd, over-the-top, pointless, tasteless, hypersexual, adult-oriented, and overall f***ing terrible they both are, I shouldn't have to explain why unless people in this godforsaken world are really THAT damn stupid!

Every other series doesn't matter, and those who like these two series should get a lobotomy. If you're afraid of permanent consequences, well... Don't be. With an opinion like that, you've got nothing to lose.

I feel like the Black Ops series in Call of Duty should end. It was fun at the beginning and new features are always great but in this case I think it hurt the series other than Blackout. I think they shoyld kill the series and begin working on a brand new multi-game series with reworked campaigns.

You've already mentioned Paper Mario so I'll save everyone from my rant on that game, but I feel like Mario Party has had enough as well. I don't even know what number we're on but I remember looking at all the recent ones and just being severely unimpressed by them all.

The original trilogy was the best, and nothing will ever change my mind on that one.

These are all the ones that come to mind:

- Sonic (haven't had any standout good games in a while aside from Generations and Sonic Mania. Sonic forces seems decent though.)

- The Sims

- Lego Games ( I don't have anything personal against them, but it just seems like there is a lego game out there for everything. I don't imagine there's too much different between each one. Having played a couple different ones myself, they all seem the same.)

I'm in with the sports franchises. I mean, I like sports, though I don't like having to change games every 10 months because things have updated, and I find it really ridiculous that some sports can have more than one dedicated series (FIFA and PES being the clearest examples).

Also, not sure if this is within topic limits, but I'd like for the MotoGP games to stop appearing unless they're made by a good developer. Milestone just doesn't know how to make proper racing games, I've tested it myself with Gravel and other games and they're just not at the level of Codemasters or Slightly Mad Studios, which in turn is damaging the image of the sport itself.

Probably the lego games, I liked them a lot originally but I do also think that at this point they are also kind of just drawing it out and it is kind of painful to see I must admit. XD

Mortal Kombat.

The games stopped being fun about 7 or 8 games ago. They aren't even mid-tier fighting games any more, and get by on name recognition alone.

Honestly, Super Smash Bros. should've ended with Brawl. Smash 64 was great for its time and is still worth a playthrough today, Melee is a huge part of my childhood despite me seeing it as too-fast paced today as well as acknowledging its horrendous competitive playerbase, and I'm not exaggerating when I say Brawl might very well be the best Nintendo game ever made.

But yeah, ever since Smash 4, Super Smash Bros. has been total garbage. I could sum it up as easily as, "Ever since Bayonetta showed up, Smash has been an uncomfortable universe to play in.", but many viewers out there would demand more explanation for such a name.

I've invested hundreds of hours into Smash 3DS, and I ultimately regret it, since it generally plays terribly, The CPU air dodge every air attack you use, some characters like Falco and King Dedede feel uncomfortably gutted, many moves in one characters arsenal feel useless (usually due to being outclassed by another), the Trophies aren't fun to read and instead are an abysmal joke, there's many pointless newcomers (Wii Fit Trainer, Robin, Corrin, Cloud), returning characters look awful (Marth, Ike, Zero Suit Samus), and like I said earlier, Bayonetta's presence in a family game - optional or not - makes me feel very uncomfortable. It's just really, really bad looking back. And, no, I'm not bothering with the Wii U version. Are you crazy?

Smash Ultimate looks twenty times worse, however, and I haven't even played it - not that I ever would, even for free. I'd rather leave my kids to play CarnEvil than this inhumane mishmash of edgy Nazi garbage. The main problem is that Bayonetta isn't even optional this time around, so that alone is a major dealbreaker, but it stretches well past there; there's so many pointless characters (Pichu, Young Link, Roy, Dr. Mario, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Greninja, Palutena, Lucina, Dark Pit, Lucas, Robin, Corrin, Shulk, Bowser Jr., Cloud, Dark Samus, Ken, Simon & Richter, Isabelle, Incineroar, and literally every DLC character aside from Banjo - I doubt there will be any other exception), World of Light looks terrible, Spirits are a crappy replacement for trophies, too much third-party content (Is this Super Smash Bros. or MUGEN?), and in conclusion, this game is simply the physical definition of a clusterf***. It's really that bad!

And don't even get me started on Project M! Yeah, it's a fangame, but I had to bring it up because I hate the damned inhumane pile of s*** so f***ing much! It's not only a perfect embodiment of how obsessive and overall hateable the competitive Melee fandom is (They just couldn't stand Brawl's new mechanics THAT much and just HAD to change it, didn't they?), but it's also a big middle finger to the original Super Smash Bros. Brawl and everything that made that game not only so unique but also so extraordinarily awesome. If you want Melee's mechanics, play Melee, simple as that. Don't change Brawl into something it's not!

In conclusion, Brawl really was the "One brawl to end them all!", and that Sakurai stated "he was making Brawl like it was the last one and not that it was going to be the last" is evident in not only how much of a legendary masterpiece of awesomeness Brawl is, but also how indescribably terrible, shameless, flimsy, convoluted, and overall freaking disgraceful and substandard the later games are.

the question you asked in your post is kind of different from the thread title's question i believe. if there's a series i used to like but now i cant get into it anymore it does not necessarily mean i want it to end. I'll answer both anyways.

Yes, I think there are maybe a few series that I used to love but now i cant get into anymore. there's the crash bandicoot series (but i will likely give it another chance with n sane trilogy), and Donkey Kong (not really motivated to try the new games, but i still enjoy the first DKC games). I cant think of another serie at the moment.

To answer the thread title's question, it's not that Id like a specific series to end, but rather the plot a video game offers. the best example i can think of now is kingdom hearts. at first i think it isn't very complicated, hut as you play more and more games, the series gets more and more confusing (Dream Drop Distance flipped the entire story..). it becomes now a headache. I'm not trying to say it is bad or anything, but it's too confusing now i guess? and complex. like if they just end the story now but still produce some games for the series (such a fighting game maybe? but i think its unlikely) it would be okay, for some at least. Nomura like to play with us hehehe

Furret : i did like thousand year door one. for paper mario on wii, snes ones needed major work.

I actually want the Paper Mario game series to end. I think the original as well as The Thousand Year Door were super good, but I haven't been too impressed with the games that followed. I heard there will be another Paper Mario game coming out so... lol

I'm really hoping they quit making Metal Gear Solid games. There's no need to keep going... Survive was already awful enough as it was. I hope they just leave it to rest, V was enough.

Minuano : Luckily for you, Kojima is busy doing things like making naked Norman Reedus the game, so it's probably over. Konami loves abandoning it's series, so it'll be good.
