Ok, here's a starter topic. I'm a druid, or actually, I'm studing to be a druid. I'm still gathering info on it. This thread is for people to post information about it or to ask questions and just to talk about this religion in general.

For those that haven't seen the othe rthreads where I've mentioned this I am a studying druid as well so to speak. Just like WhiteRose though I consider her sort of Senior Druid as she's been studying longer and she was the one that got me interested in the religion.

It fit my personality and the way that I view the world around me very well so I felt it was perfect for me on a general scale. Plus there are pieces of it that I find to be very interesting and personally fulfilling.

Well, the most basic definition of Pagan is "someone who does not follow the Judeo-Christian or Islamic religions"... so basically anyone who is not Christian (in some way shape or form), Jewish, or Muslim. Most Pagan religions predate or have their roots in religions predated the rise of these religions (i.e. the religions of the Celts, the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians, as well as the Romans), this also includes Buddhism and Hinduism as well as Native American Spirituality.

Like I said, that is the most basic and modern definition of "Pagan", there are many. A more indepth look into the term can be found on theReligious Tolerance website.

Hope that answered the question.

Celtic magic, in forms of Druids and High Priestesses exsisted long before Chrisrian, Muslim, or Islamic religions. Christianity didn't really predate the Druids. Humans used Earth magicks long before Christianity came along.

What references do you use for Druid magic? I have a book titled Druid Magic, and a Druid Tarot deck. I've been searching online some, for books, mythology (since every story has some truth behind it, and it's good to know your ancestors' tales), or even internet resources, however inaccurate they are, considering you can tell if they are bogus or truth most of the time.

For druids, we can do our magic like wiccans with spells and rituals, but we can do minor things as well without all that. Most of it concerning nature of course. What you do is talk to what you want to happen. For example, if you wish for it to stop raining for a bit, talk to the sky and point out your situation. It usually helps if you offer something in return. I'm not saying you can cause whole floods, but you can change a couple a things. Another example, which I belives in in the Druid Magic book, is asking animals to move for certain reasons, like ants at a picnic. I know there is more, but I still need to look that up.

Sure, I'll be glad to answer the question. Drudry is a pagan religion in which we focus around nature. That is pretty much it down in a nutshell, the details get very long. If you would like to learn more, there is a lot of helpful books like Druid Magic. You can also find information(lot more information) on http://druidry.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=PagEd&file=index&topic_id=1&page_id=30#section2

For the record, Silver Ravenwolf writes books for teenagers interested in Wicca, though it seems to be targeted at girls more. I have Teen Witch, though I haven't actually read it since I got it when I was 20 and practicing for 5 years already. A good book for beginners though.

I hate Silver Ravenwolf. I've read some of her stuff... and it's just bogus to me. I'd prefer Scott Cunningham over her any day.

I agree with you there, I actually like Cunningham's books. Perhaps because they are not geared towards the 90s teenage girl.
