I'd have to go with none of the above. On all the latest games I'd say it's wrong. On any games that you can get via the VC or another console's service I'd say it's a bit wrong, if you don't own the game. On games you just can't find anymore except for Ebay I don't see as much of a problem with that.

Modding a system to play foreign games I don't see a problem with, but there is a point where I think modding is wrong.

Very good points, yeah for games that will never come out in the USA, it might be more acceptible. I made that option, also "other" is now an option.

I know its wrong. But alot of games are just like 'meh'. And its not so often games that I love, and if I do, I buy them.

I have StarCraft, CNC3, Dawn Of War (all PC). And all my xbox games are full versions (not only because its not chipped). And there all the games I really REALLY like. Same goes for movies, sure, download it play/watch it a bit. If your a fan, you SHOULD go and buy the full version.

I agree, I mostly only emulate/mod games that are foreign (aka Jap or Chinese) as they are VERY difficult to find otherwise, and then in Japanese.

I only pirate roms... (bad me...) and only now and then. Mostly I like to get roms of games I have, because their too hard to beat without savestate (Capcom you crazy buggers)

A game called 'Live A Live' for the SNES was only released in Japan, but someone translated a rom for it. This was my only opportunity to play this awsome game since it was never officially translated. This applies for a lot of games that have only been released in Japan.

I pirate a lot of games for emulators and my chipped ps2 but in some cases if the game is good enough I go out and buy it soon afterwards as to show support for the company. I also pirate lots of japan only releases of course.

Most of the games I pirate I own anyway. Sometimes I like to rip the graphics/sound from the games and for cartridge based games, the best way of doing it is thru emulation. I also like putting snes and nes emulators on my DS and cell phone to be able to play them on the go (and half of the time the games I like to bring on the go I already own).

I think that it is wrong, but I do it anyway just because that there are some games that are just very hard to find. I know it doesn't make it right but if it is the only way for me to get that game I will do it anyway.

I don't really care. The gaming companies will continue to make games. The rich folk will continue to buy them. I am not going to play these games unless i take them. I don't see it as wrong. Neither with the music industry.

I think its wrong but i still do it is the best answer for me, its like downloading music... everyone does it even tho it is considered wrong.

i think downloading roms and emulators is a good way to relive the childhood games you love and cant find available is stores anymore.

i think it's good to download old games that we can't find
but sometimes we also need to download new games

I picked other. Some systems are no longer made, and people still want games that were made for them. Also, some games are in other languages. Those are really the only cases I can see it making sense.

I usually get games that aren't available here in the US; if they're games that I can't find or I'm too cheap to buy, I'm just going to get the ROMs.

I many times download ROMs for the simple fact to try games. I got tired of game shopping, seeing a game, going "This looks cool", buying said new game for $40+, then playing said game and going "This game sucks!"

Now I'm out $40+ and stuck with a game I don't like. I use emulation as a way to demo games first. Then I purchase the ones I like.

I remember when I bought Summon Night for GBA.... Kind of a big mistake... I should've tried it on an EMU first.

Testing them makes sense, but not keeping them if you can buy them otherwise

Sometimes I kinda take the games and keep 'em on there Like, when MOTHER 3 came out in USA a couple weeks ago for PC, I snatched it immediately.

I chose "It's wrong: The game companies need all the money they can get" because that couldn't be farther from the truth. These companies put up thousands if not millions on developing games and they need to make good profits from it or else they could go out of business. I think people are pretty much wanting everything free these days but it's bad for the economy. How would you like it if you spent millions on a game only to discover you lost money on it due to illegal distribution on the net or something.

Games that are out of print I think that is fine, but new releases should not be up for grabs for free cause that is just wrong. I'm not the kind of person who will go download free roms and stuff, if I see something I want I will buy it.

I don't know about anyone else but I like to have actual hard copies of stuff, with the artwork and all that stuff.

Digital copies of it do suck and they are nothing like the real deal that's why I would pay. Just my 2 cents.

You've got a point there , me too i like the real thing not just the game but the artworks and
the things that come with it , I generally download only old games but sometimes i go
to new ones because i can't get it because in my country there's nearly only pirated versions
