Dauntez : My main Complaint with 1.9+ PvP is that it has no skill expression in my opinion you have so much more freedom and diverse playstyles with a fishing rod than anything in 1.9 PvP Now I will say with future updates like the different arrows or the Mace thing I do think it's improved a lot to actually be interesting again however! I also would argue it doesn't even look like MC Combat anymore. Considering I think you mostly play bedrock edition why do you like 1.9 Java PVP so much anyway? As for your question I would give you a much higher chance of success in 1.9 that said without any effort on my part I played on a 1.9 PvP server once back in the day and was fighting top ranked players and winning but I also think it's probably been 8 years since I did a 1.9+ PvP fight.
