Silva Saga II

To start off, this game is an old, English modified SNES game. It is a turn-based RPG game that has a very interesting story line to it. Personally, I love the turn-based RPG games just like this one. As I stated before, it has a very interesting story line to the game that makes you want to keep playing it. This game is not generally hard to figure out how to play, but it is still very entertaining. It does not show your characters in the battle. It will only shows the picture of your characters which is a bummer, but you have to think that this game was created a long time ago so it is alright. In most of the towns, you can find stores such as the General store for health related stuff, Armory for Armor and Weapons, Mercenary Guild for hiring Mercenaries, Magic Guild for revival of people or idols and the Inn which is where you can sleep or rest to pass time. I loved the style of fighting and the frequently switching of characters that are used as your partners. I also liked the fact that you could use 3 different type of characters to battle. The first group you can use is your team, the second is hiring mercenaries, and the last is Statue Idols that use magic spells. The only downfall of this is when the mercenaries or the Idols are being used, the player has no control over what attacks the use or which monster they attack. If you are using the mercenaries, then you need to be careful because once they die they disappear forever. Which you can just buy back more, but that can be expensive. Your team and the idols do not disappear. A member on your team or an idol can be revived from the Magic Guild for a price, of course. The level based system is also really cool in this game because I don't know if there is a limit on the level you can reach, but I played through the whole game and never was held up by a level limit. Although, I personally suggest that if you want to have a strong team to train outside of the villages to become stronger for bigger fights. The Zuhl monsters that you battled would change depending on the area you were in and they would always get harder as the game went on. There were tons of boss battles and mini-boss battles, so you weren't always fighting the little minions all the time before you got to the Big Boss at the end.

This game has a lot of different weapons and armor which you could find throughout the game and if you check in all the people's houses, you may find something in their cupboards or shelves. Also, when you have obtained the items needed to get across the snow and water, check all over the world outside of the villages for hidden items that can be useful. You can talk to just about any NPC in the game, even the animals which put a twist into the game. The characters that you will fight with for your team will change as you reach different check points in the game. Usually this happens when you have just defeated a boss of the area you are in. The good thing about this is even though you have a different character, he will have the same exact abilities, equipment and stats as the previous person. So, make sure you train early because it will not go to waste in the end. The only character who doesn't change is your character because your character is obviously the hero of this game.

While playing the game, you need to keep an open mind and try every single area of every town and open areas because you never know what you can find. Some things you may find can be useful to you whether it is because it is a better armor/weapon or if it is something that you can sell for a good bit of money so you can acquire something that can be useful. As I said earlier about the Inn, time is a very big key in this game. Throughout the day on the game, you can see different people in the towns depending on if it is morning, day or night. Also, you can only visit most important people, such as a King, during the morning or day. The monsters in the game can vary depending on the time of day. Some monsters that you may fight during the day may not be out at night. Another way to progress time is to walk around outside of the village and the time will change depending on how long you walk around out there. There is no walkthrough for this game made, so if you get stuck at a part you have to do things you would never think of because there is no one to help you figure out what you are supposed to do. So, talk to everyone in the villages or else you may get stuck a lot.  Again, this game was a very enjoyable game and I recommend it to anyone who loves turn-based and RPG games.
