The Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds (SNES) Review
The Legend of Zelda parallel worlds is a very difficult hack of the legend of Zelda a Link to the Past, it was made by Euclid & SePH. The game boasts a brand new overworld, completely revamped dungeons, and enticingly difficult puzzles. You still play as the same protagonist, link, but instead of being the "chosen hero" you are just a normal guy that wants to take part in the rebellion against the evil King Dreagor. You will encounter many hardships while trying to undermine the evil tyrant. And will need to resort to all your greatest efforts to defeat him.
-GRAPHICS- 10
The graphics are so neat and clean in this hack, link looks much better having yellow hair instead of pink, the tunics look spiffy and like something you would be proud to wear instead of it being laundry day. There are many new sprites added to the game, palm trees, new default trees, new enemies, and buildings (including boats), more decor to the over world, and even the hylian and mirror shield from Ocarina of Time! It really give the overworld a completely new look. There are many newly added areas along with changed and moved old ones, like coconut beach, the docks, and a snow covered parallel world. Interested already? Read on!
-SOUND/MUSIC- 10
There is only one new tune that was added in this hack, it is Daurians caverns (The Legend of Zelda NES dungeon remix) Euclid didn't want to alter the original tunes because he thought that they were great just the way there were, he was right. The music is awesome, All of the Music fit's the atmosphere perfectly. Kakariko sounds like a old tired but true village that has been around for centuries. The lost woods really set the scene for a mysterious forest. But The Darkworld theme (or in this game the snow world theme) really takes the cake, it is the best song in the entire Zelda series!
-STORY- 10
I know that I sound like a broken record giving another ten here, but I just really liked the story, and I quote:
Long, long ago. . . on the sky islands to the east the Triforce sleeps. . . A war was made to claim that power. . . in the end, the triforce turned the world into two worlds. . . One world which the climate was harsh, people helped each other to survive. . . They'll to anything to make the world a better place to live . . . The other world (was) where all the people who desired it's power went. The people there decides not to seek the triforce again. But it all began when 7 people traveled to this world from the other.
. . they wish to use their clues to the Triforce to make their world a better place to live. . .The Parallel Tower. . .where the Triforce sleeps. . . this begins the story. . . The King's assistant, Draegor, eliminated the old king and crowns himself as king. He searches for the 7 people from the other world for clues to the Parallel Tower. one by one, these 7 people are caught and interrogated for their clues to the tower. . . Once they told him the clue they were "disposed" of. . . Now only one remain. . . A rebel force has been planning to save this last person from him tonight. . . So it begins. . .

-DIFFICULTY- 10
This game is so stinking difficult, that they should put a warning label on the cart that says "warning this game will make you rage, (even with savestates) do not play if you have high blood pressure or are at risk of a heart attack because this is will increase your risk dramatically!" This game was made to be the most difficult Zelda Mod ever, and it has suceded. for an example, take the first dungeon, you have togo through a dark cave, with three hearts. That's not to bad right, well combine that with holes all over, the cave is pitch black, and there are these 'things' that are shooting fireballs form the corners of the room and if you get hit you will fall into one of the holes and will lose two hearts AND will have to start over from the beginning of the cave. if you manage to complete the task and actually make it into the guard house, you will wander around for 30 minutes before finding your
sword (15 if you know what your doing) and in the meantime you will be dodging guards, getting keys. and running into dead ends. this game is hard core. Oh, and did I mention that if you die YOU WILL HAVE TO START OVER FROM THE BEGINNING? Because that's called tough luck. and that's just the first dungeon. Put that in perspective for a minute. Later in the game you will have to perform glitches to advance like the Bomb boost (Bomb Boost: to get blasted by a bomb to clear a gap to advance in the game) and hammering spikes to advance, when you are given no clue on what to do whatsoever! By now it should be obvious that this game is for hardcore Zelda fans, and I'm right even I had a lot of trouble beating this game and it took me 6 month (on and off) to complete it. So I don't recommend that if be your first Zelda. :P
-ADDICTIVENESS- 7
I love this game, I a playing through it for the second time, even though the game is monstrous on difficulty I still am going to complete it a second time. (this time I am doing it without savestates) and there is a secret that can be unlocked if you collect all of the tablets in the 7 dungeons in the parallel world. It isn't to hard to find them all, if your looking for them that is. another thing that increases it, is that there are some weapons that can only be gotten if you skip earlier weapons, kind of like cave story did.
-DEPTH- 8
this game has quite a bit to offer, 2 quests, a secret ending, some secret weapons, (shh,) and as I have said before, a completely revamped overworld, and Completely unique Dungeons. The dungeons were all very creative and were thought out with care, Sheiks Hideout and Nuyru's bay were my favorite. Though all of them are truly great dungeons.
Another aspect to consider is that there are just over 55 pieces of heart in the game! woah, 55!?! what on earth for? well, the reason behind this is that Bosses no longer drop heart containers, to allow true three heart runs (not that anyone would take the challenge if they were in their right mind that is:P) but options are always good you know, even if some of them are rediciulous.
-OVERALL- 9
This really is one of those hacks that really stand out among the crowd it really should be THE hack that you should play if your a big Zelda fan. I have pretty summed up already what makes and breaks this game. so, one more time:
PROS:
New Overworld!
New Dungeons.
New Plot. (somewhat)
Better and lots of added graphics.
CONS:
Painstakingly difficult at times
Almost impossible to beat without Save states
As you can see, the only problem is the difficulty, everything else is A-OK, I'm not sure if I hammered the difficulty to hard
here so please forgive me if I did. But thankfully I only have to pick on the game for that.
Eluclid and SePH really deserve some credit for doing such a good job with this mod.

The Legend of Zelda- Parallel Worlds (SNES) Lumian
The Legend of Zelda - Parallel Worlds is a amateur hack that re-imagines the entire game nearly and manages to look professional about it. The game it remakes, The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past, is a legendary title game for the SNES and one of the most purchased games for the system. It was nothing if not enjoyable. Despite it's linear story and set in stone game world it managed to be fun enough for players to come back time and time again.
Parallel Worlds changes the following things about the original game: graphics, map layout, dungeons, story, and difficulty level. This last is changed significantly.... Parallel Worlds difficulty can only be described as Zelda: NIGHTMARE Mode. Unless you are an extraordinary expert, knowing every trick and glitch in the book, you will die again.... and again... and again... and again... and again! Even if you ARE an expert you may find yourself shouting expletives now and again because the game raped you in an utterly unfair way. For the first literal hour or more of the game you will have to go and sneak around in and fight through an entire encampment of guards with no shield or sword nor items to help you. If you die at any time, you will lose ALL of your progress because you cannot save the game without your sword (unless you save states...).
Despite the above stated trying difficulty, the hack is fabulous. The graphical changes are beautiful and perfectly natural looking, the level designed is ingenious and fun if frustrating, and the story is very well written as well! Further, if you SUCCEED, at beating this game you will feel like a champion, and can honestly claim to have played one of the most absurdly difficult games in history and won.
As a Zelda fan myself, I recommend it highly. But only for those with patient and lacking blood Pressure or heart problems!

zelda paralel worlds: the game. darkfrair
This game is an example of a hack done right. It isn't just another version of the game, but a completely different game. It also makes you stretch your imagination. Instead of cutting grass for rubies you pick it up and throw it at an enemy. You use pots as weapons. You are encouraged to use objects other then your sword to fight. Trust me you will need to use everything you can. It is difficult, but in a fun way. You will be using all your knowledge about the game, and learning new things as well. I give it a 8.3 out of 10 over all.
