I think our driving age should be 18, and the drinking age should be 16. That way, kids learn the responsibility first, and then they learn to drive later. Teenagers are going to drink anyway, but they don't drive without a lisence.

Dude, John, THINK! Christianity is a bad example, because the Christian God FORGIVES YOU!!! It does NOT mean that you get thrown into hell just for not believing in him! besides, if forums are about just staying on topic, that would be boring. Shouldnt we go further? I mean we got into a good discussion, having already talked about your theory. That was the value of it; it made us think. I hate that "WOAH! INDEPENDANT THOUGHT! Get back on topic!" bulls***. Well, here's how i think it is:
Capitalism is just a name for the American Dream: that anyone can make it big no matter where they start off. It used to be amazing, but now it's outdated. There are so many people trying to get a piece of that American pie that everyone's slice is too small, and some corporations are so big that they just dominate the market and it's really hard to start a business. It's sort of sad, you know? Something like six companies control the entire American media, and there's just no room for anyone to stary a newspaper. How about computer hardware? Dell and HP are so big that it's impissible to build an electronics business. The only thing about capitalism is that it's an american tradition, and now that we're stuck in this hole, where six conservative, capitalist companies can control everything that Americans hear about the world and the President and which companies are screwing who over, America is not going to change. We're sinking; our capitalist empire is over.

I don't really understand Christianity; i mean, i know the beliefs and stuff, but, why do people believe it? I can totally understand why someone would feel touched by God, but i just can't see how someone would care if it was Jesus or Mary or God or some saint that's answering their prayers; isn't it all the same thing in the end?

As I hope most of you know, communism is an economic system in which everybody is totally equal, in which every citizen is a patriot who works hard for the good of his country, and is paid the same as everybody else. Everybody in this system has an equal shot at everything.
Personally, I don't like it. It's like a classroom where instead of the hardworking students being rewarded with an A and the slackers being punished with an F, everybody gets a C.
What do you guys think?

Jin, what you're talking about is communism, which i hope you've realized, does not work. It's a nice idea, but... well, ill make a thread about it.

John, don't be silly. God doesn't just punish your ass because you f***ed up. He's all-loving and forgiving. If you crash your car into Jesus and you kill him, God will still forgive you if you're sorry for it. God isn't about vengeance, man; He's all about looove!

Knight, thanks for getting my point, but you have to see about the bible: It wasn't written by god, it was written by people who believed in him. I guess 'inspired' is a key word, but since it wasn't written by god, the bible is just as real as every other religious scripture, you know?

Um, you can sort of tell that you don't really get what you're talking about, Nasus. Purgatory isn't fun, but it isn't hell. You see, heaven is this land of endless entertainment and bliss, hell is this place where everybody is in pain and everything is bad, and pergatory is a concious void. I heard it described that people who aren't good enough to go to heaven just wait in this place
and every year one person goes to heaven. Now, seeing as plenty of people havent made it, i would not be happy there.
Oh, and that's a nice theory, John, but you didn't make it up. It makes sense, and it does a very good job scaring people into church, but the truth is that the Church does not represent god accurately. There are some things that church says are bad(homosexuality, sex), which are obviously not bad. My point is just that church isn't the real word of god, and neither is the bible.
Look, if you believe in god, you believe in a real, spiritual quintessence of good, not in a book; not in a human organization; not in ten phrases scratched into stone; If your primary belief is god, and some of the stuff that is said in these MAN-MADE things is bulls***, why would you follow them at all?

Here's my point: If god is the perfect judge, he will forgive those who deserve to be forgiven, and if, on judgement day, you meet god, and you're like, "gee, i really wish i believed in you, sorry, man, i was mislead into thinking you were just a load of crap," Do you actually think he would punish you?

I have it. Gondor seems a bit unbalanced to me because it has really strong walls and good defenses. I took on 2 hard computers on teh same team with gondor. Piece of cake. Also, rohan doesnt have any siege except for ents. And to make ents you need a 5000 resource entmoot, and to top it off, it's so easy to kill ents with fire arrows and fire stones, rohan is just screwed.

i agree totally. politics sucks. it's all the darn liberal lawyers trying to screw us all and trying to destroy christianity and judaism and islam. i dont understand how you could live with yourself if you voted for john kerry. i thought of a good acronym for him: hok jerry! he sucks. thank god he lost or else we would all be dead. he probably would have started a nuclear war by now or something

i got a book for christmas. i like it very much. it's called lies and the lying liers that tell them by al franken. it was interesting, but it got boring towards the end. it was basically total slander towards the right, and it was full of very low, stupid jokes. i couldnt help but laugh some times, though. al franken must have been a comedian.
