I like Pokemon, but chose the layout because it was a dragon. lol

I agree that certain games can be much for fun with online co-op than with a CPU ally. But you have to take the good with the bad and accept that some people will be self-centered and abandon the team for their own goals. Then, there are those hacker-types who use and abuse holes in the levels and whatnot. Those people upset me. Heh, heh.

Hi everyone! I just got the official news, and wanted to share it with you all! As of next Wednesday, 03/23/2011, I will officially be a college student! After realizing that the job market in Jacksonville was rated as 9th WORST in the country and not getting better anytime soon, I figured I'd put that Montgomery G.I. Bill I earned in the Navy to use. I was looking at, and comparing, different schools in the area for a while.

My first choice was the Art Institute of Jacksonville, but I'd have had to sell my soul to be able to afford it on just my G.I. Bill and unemployment benefits. It bummed me out, because drawing is like breathing to me, and getting an education that would help me get paid for something I love to do would've been great. It wasn't meant to be, though. I told a couple of good friends that I was interested in college, and the most resounding recommendation I got was the University of Phoenix. So, I checked them out.

While they don't have an art program, they DO have web design and digital media. I figured, I already know how to draw, I just need to get the knowledge of how to bring my art to life on the intarwebz. They'll teach me how to master things like Adobe Flash, Photo Shop, Dream Weaver, and even how to write my own code. So, I'm all set on the "Bachelor of Science in Information Technology for Web Design" path of destiny. Say THAT five times fast, ha ha!

I had also found out that I qualified for something better than the Montgomery G.I. Bill, too! The M.G.I.B. would basically cut me a check every month for $800-1500 until my benefits were exhausted (something like $35,000), and I would be responsible for paying my tuition, fees, supplies, and books with it. Turns out, there is now the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill for anyone who served in the military from 09/11/2001 and onward. The longer you were in, the more you qualified for, up to a maximum of 36 months. I was in the Navy for over three years after 9/11 happened. I was told that I qualify for the full 100%, provided I was willing to give up the Montgomery G.I. Bill in return. That was a no-brainer, heh. That means that the government will pay all of my tuition and fees directly to the college AND send me a monthly housing allowance (this area is estimated around $1200+ a month) AND give me a yearly book stipend of $500 for the next three years! As long as I maintain a C average, I keep getting my benefits.

I'm totally stoked! I can go to college AND pay my bills without having to sacrifice one for the other! Financial woes were one of the big reasons I avoided college for so long. I'm also a bit scared, too. I graduated high school 11 years ago, and aside from some informal classes while I was on deployment, haven't been in a classroom since. I'm going to be 29 in August, and I'm hoping it's not too late for an old dog to learn a new trick. Well, that's all I have to report. Wish me luck!

Well, I didn't have much choice in the matter. I went wherever my ship went. Thankfully, it went to some nice places. Of course, it went to some rather unsavory places as well, but that can't be helped. To DBDonald, I got out of the Navy five years ago, so I'm not sure how we'd run into each other unless you were stationed at NS Mayport here in Jacksonville, FL. If you're ever here, though, look me up!

I voted for Online, but I guess it all depends on your preferences. I recently got Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the PS3, and have had just as much mastering the offline Arcade mode as I have mashing it up in the Online lobbies. There are times when the Online fighters bug or annoy me with cheap tactics, so I go back to offline for a while and cool down.

Everyone's art is great in its own way. The best thing about imagination is that it doesn't restrict you to a certain design or expectation. Here's a pic of a character made after my best friend. His name is Rephaim, which is Hebrew for "shadow" or "phantom".

septembern : It happened six years ago. She was killed upon impact with the SUV. I had a really rough time with it because I blamed myself for it for a long time. She had come up to Orlando from West Palm Beach to watch my son for me while my ex-wife, roommate, and I went to a concert. I was convinced for a long time that if I hadn't asked her to make the trip, she'd still be alive.

I don't actually do tattoo work. I don't think my hands would be steady enough to permanently mark someone's body. I just draw up designs. I sold the dragon design I drew for my right shoulder to a tattoo parlor in St. Thomas for $250. 95% of my work is comic book style art.

Here is a cover art concept design I did for a comic I was working on a couple years ago. I was never able to get too far into it due to some heavy real-life issues that popped up.

Thanks! Mechanics are always a challenge for me. Abe took me almost three hours just to sketch out and get right. I had to add extra elements during the inking phase in order to make him look even less organic.

I've done a total of five tattoo designs. Two of which I designed for myself (a broadsword with tribal band on my left shoulder and a dragon on my right shoulder), two for my ex-wife (tribal butterfly tramp stamp and a frilly design for her foot), and one for my girlfriend.
