Ah man, Super Mario Land 2 was my childhood game! I would have definitely competed in this speedrun competition had I known sooner! Sadly I haven't been on Vizzed lately due to college, but without a doubt I tried practicing but I didn't have enough time to get all the levels down. The game itself isn't too hard until you get to the final level, and you can't afford getting a game over or else you lose your boss coins, lose access to Wario's castle, and your entire run is essentially blown. Thankfully the game gives you a ton of 1ups, so if you're good enough it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Davideo7 : ok, I sent the Viz

btw, in place of blazblue i am going to ask for la mulana. I sent 20,000 Viz earlier and now i just sent 5,000 more for la mulana
EDIT: Oops, I realized la mulana is sold out. let me try to figure out what else is in stock.
EDIT 2: I guess instead of La Mulana I'll take 100% Orange juicce and the character pack (9,000 Viz together instead of la mulana's 15,000) I'm not sure how this will work since I already sent 25,000 (10,000 + 15,000), but now the price would be 19,000 (10,000 + 9,000).

blahblahblah213 : Yeah, XY's budget is definitely higher than most seasons.  The episodes are actually pretty good and the fight scenes are animated much better and have less speed line background moments.

blahblahblah213 : Yeah, I know. I knew that's where the show was heading, but for the OVA ending, even if you totally were cheering for the
Spoiler:
kirino
route it still kinda screws everything over since
Spoiler:
Kirino and Kyosuke planned to only date for a week and broke up since 'society wouldn't accept them', so basically he possibly broke three friendships (one of them being a close friend he's known since childhood who know thinks he's nothing but a shameless pervert) just so he can pretend to date his sister for a week and then go back to being 'normal siblings'. It's pretty dumb because it kinda makes Kyousuke a jerk going through all that breaking all his friend's hearts for technically nothing. Personally by the second episode of the OVA I accepted the fact this was the canon pairing, but third episode was silly because if you're really going to commit to a pairing then actually go through with it and don't just back out at the last minute.

But yeah, I honestly don't care what 4chan says since half the people there are ridiculous.

Here are my suggestions.

-Update MAME/MESS/Mednafen: This would be great since like you said, it would make more games playable,  especially on MAME. It could by extension make the demand on computers for PS1 games less intensive and could also probably make Saturn run better. Also, seeing older consoles would be interesting too! (also, I don't know if it's been fixed yet but there was a speed issue on MSX2 titles, making it hard to play games like Metal Gear 2. Maybe updating MESS could fix this.)

-MAME/MESS Full screen support: Full screen would be very nice for more consoles. So far I believe the only console on RGR that has full screen is SNES. It would be cool to see full screen in other consoles. This is especially needed in MAME. There are a lot of great shooters on MAME that are kind hard to enjoy because their aspect ratio doesn't fit the fizzed display frame, therefore the game screen is tiny and only takes up a quarter of the screen. It would be great to have full screen so we could remedy this issue.

-MAME/MESS High Scores and Speed runs: Ok, this would be an amazing and much needed addition. I remember back when MAME was still in beta on RGR and I once said that it would be awesome if games like DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou had highscore contests or competitions to see who can beat the game or even clear it with only one credit! This opens a window of possibilities, and arcade games are made for scoring contests since practically every arcade game has some sort of scoring system tacked on. Let's see who can be the King of Kong on vizzed!

-Add DOS Games: I know a lot of people are requesting Dreamcast, and this definitely seems like a good idea, but I don't know if it will be a practical one. A lot of users are already experiencing problems with PSX and Saturn since their computers aren't powerful enough to run it on RGR, and those are 32-bit consoles. Dreamcast is 128-bits. That equates it to the power of around PS2 quality. If you added DC, it would be a feature that would be limited to those with good computers which would probably alienate a portion of the user base with less powerful computers. DOS would be a more practical suggestion since DOS games are less intensive and there are just as many great games on DOS (plus we'd finally get the original version of Doom on RGR which would be totally awesome.) Dreamcast is still a really great idea,  if it ever gets netplay support in the future, we could possibly make our own Phantasy Star Online private server (though that's an idea that's even more impractical), but as of now, DOS is probably a better bet.

-Other: A few things I'd really love for MAME is that you added mouse support for light gun games and you made the pause button work on MAME. Arcade games don't let you pause, which is really inconvenient in a home setting. MAME has a pause feature, I don't know how hard it would be to put that in, but it would be great to be able to pause in Arcade games. Also, plenty of MAME games have DIP Switch settings not seen in their test menus (or if they even have test menus at all). The RGR MAME settings menu is stripped down, but it would be cool if you added this feature.

Also there is an add-on for mame called command list. It basically is a menu that displays special moves for the game you're playing (for example you can see all of Ryu's moves in Street Fighter.) This feature would be VERY helpful in vizzed, especially for fighting games.

blahblahblah213 : I kinda liked Kirino in season 1, but by season 2 I found her incredibly unlikable and arrogant, whereas before she was merely really angry and could pass as tsundere, but now she's not even tsundere; she's just mean.

But yeah, Kuroneko / Ruri Gokou > Kirino anyway.

For me I have two. Technically three.

  • Night Walker: The Midnight Detective.
This show is cheesy as heck. It's basically about this guy named Shido who becomes a vampire and fights these creatures called the Night Breed. The night breed kill humans and sometimes posses them to cause havoc. Shido fights them with blood swords and stuff. Why is it on here? The massive cheese factor, the questionable ending, and how it does nothing really new keep it from being a good anime. Another thing about it is that while it's not on the level of MD Giest (kids, please don't look up MD Geist; it's not appropriate for kids whatsoever) AT ALL, it still has quite a bit of violence and sexual themes. While it's mainly PG-13-ish, you can tell this show was adapted from a more... risqué visual novel (please don't look up the visual novel unless you're 18+), and apparently it was one of the first anime to be adapted from a visual novel. While this show is not exactly great, I still enjoy the retro anime aesthetics and it's at least entertaining.
  • Oreimo.
I'm not going to say the full title because anime these days have obscenely long titles, but I'll get a lot of looks from people for liking this show; heck, on tumblr it's a meme to make fun of this show or anyone who likes it. It has some.. Odd themes, but to me, Oreimo is about so much more than its controversial moments. Oreimo is basically about a brother (Kyousuke) and his little sister (Kirino) who hate each other greatly, but then Kyosuke's sister reveals to him a secret she's been hiding for years.

You see, Kirino is a top athlete at her school and a teen fashion model who appears in magazines, but she's hiding a secret she can't let anyone know or else her reputation will be ruined. Kirino is an otaku who gets enjoyment from watching anime, buying figurines of her favorite characters, and playing risqué visual novels involving little sisters despite her being a little sister herself... She is a nerd with questionable interests; it's obvious why she'd want to keep this a secret, but the fact she has no one to share her nerdy interests with kinda isolates her. This is why she tries to get the help of her brother to help her find new friends who are otaku like her, and that's mainly what this show's about. It's about  a guy who's sister makes friends with fellow nerds who then pull him into their crazy shenanigans. There's plenty of great moments in the first season and it's all about nerds who yearn for acceptance in a society who thinks they are nothing but freaks. There's plenty of memorable characters, like my favorite, Ruri Gokou, the girl who wears cosplays in fancy dresses all the time and pretends she's a dark magician all the time. There's a lot of funny moments with these characters.

Why is this show so notorious? Well, that would be because of some of the subject matter. While the first season only jokes around about this but never really goes all the way with it, towards the end of the second season the show turns into a romantic comedy where the otaku girls become love interests for kyousuke... all of them... including kirino... Considering how this show's full title translates to "My Little Sister Cannot Be This Cute", you can see where this is going. A lot of people felt reasonably uncomfortable with this plot element, especially in second season's later part where it stopped being joked about and implied and more and more in your face about it. To me, I don't really like this element of the plot either, and kirino does act really mean to kyousuke as well, so why on earth would he fall for her anyway is beyond me. The second season is where Kirino goes from being just grouchy to being full-on plain mean yet people still bend over backwards for her and you can only sympathize with her for so long.

The season 2 OVA endings also are really sub par.  The show becomes so engrossed in romance that it has to make these ovas to confirm the final pairing, but it does so in the worst way possible. It's almost as if they did it in a way to intentionally anger a portion of the fan base. Even if are some how ok with creepy sibling romance, you won't be happy with this ending either. Something happens at the end that makes everything all for nothing and will ruin a lot of characters for you.

Over all, If you want to watch a show that's about a bunch of nerds having fun and a guy who works towards making his sister no longer hate him, just watch the first  season and pretend the second one doesn't exist, or if you really need to see season 2, just watch it up until the last episode and then never watch the S2 OVAs; they will anger you.
  • Strike Witches.
This one I didn't finish because I was embarrassed I was watching it. This is some social life-destroying stuff. Strike Witches is about a group of girls from around the world who are a part of an international military air force known as Strike Witches; a group who flies around in magically powered jet boots and with giant machine guns fight this alien threat known as the Neuroi.
This show seems alright. It's about a strong group of girls who hang out and fight evil with high-tech jet boots and cute cat ears, but why is it so hard for one to admit they watched this show? The fan service. Every five seconds there's a scene where the camera positions itself in awkward places. Even in fight scenes they take every opportunity to position the camera in shameful ways. It doesn't help that the strike witches themselves dress in suggestive clothing. The plot is interesting, but with all of the focus on dirty stuff, it's hard to enjoy this one, but I still enjoyed this show from what I watched.

Oh dear, Where I'm from a lot of people don't really like AoT or SAO and find them overrated, though a lot of those people are anime elitists and neo geo fanboys who are mad that the snk tag on tumblr is full of aot rather than neo geo stuff.

I haven't watched the show, but from what I hear it's not the most amazing thing ever, but it's a fun action show. Don't go in expecting a thought-provoking masterpiece, This is just fun popcorn material. If you just want a cool, fun, intense show, then go watch Titan.

Is it better than  Sword Art Online? Probably. I've seen a lot of haters for both, but I never really see any actual criticism against the AoT than I have with SAO. A big problem people had with SAO was that the second part of the first season removes the tension the first part had since they are no longer in an mmo that will kill them and that the show focuses more on romantic sub-plots at this point rather than actual plot (and a character who was once really strong gets kidnapped and weak). I don't really hear any actual complaints about AoT other than "BLAGH IT's OVERRATED" I guess a lot of hate comes from people expecting the best thing ever but are disappointed that it's just ok and fan boys who annoy people and bug them to watch it. Chances are if there's any problems with AoT, it's probably minor stuff rather than glaring problems SAO seems to have.
Is it Overrated? Maybe. Every time there is a new anime that gets popular and mainstream there will always be elitists who will bash on it for being ranted and worshipped by fans, they'll event try to analyze the work deep to find minor things to nitpick and blow out of proportion to make it look worse. Maybe it's overrated. Maybe. Watch the show and judge for yourself. Just expect it to be fun. Not amazing or godlike, but fun. Who knows, you might really like it anyway. I say you're more likely to enjoy AoT than you are to enjoy SAO.

There's hardly snow where I'm from, with me being from So Cal. However, last year around Christmas late at night we got some snow. I remember mom woke me up to look out the window and what do you know, there's snow. It was a very special moment for me since this is the first time I actually got to see snow. Of course, I couldn't go out since it was late at night, but just seeing it was memorable. I hope we get snow again next December!

I know there's plenty of threads on this, but I need some help with the psx emulation.
You see, I used to use an older computer that was good for its time, but now it's considered old, but that's not important.
I was able to run psx games very well on that computer, but sadly It broke down, so we had to get a new computer. Eventually I got a new laptop, and it's supposed to be higher specs than our old desktop computer.

It runs games fairly well, but when I try to run psx games on rgr, it doesn't work. It gets all laggy and slow, and the audio stutters. The strange thing about this is that this is supposed to be a better computer, so why is this higher end machine doing a worse job at emulating psx on rgr? I tried to see if running an emulator myself would run well along with my copy of ridge racer revolution, and what do you know? It ends up working flawlessly. No lag or stuttering. I'm not sure what is going on, but for some reason this is happening. To make things even more strange, every other system besides Saturn and a few 3d mame games run fine on rgr.

I don't know the specs of our old computer since we got rid of it, but the computer I have now runs Windows 8 and has a AMD A4-5000 APU processor with Radeon HD Graphics 1.50 GHz. I have 4 GB of ram, and I have a 64-bit operating system.

Any sort of help is appreciated!

Sadly while there is a netplay item, the way netplay currently works makes game boy multiplayer non-functional.

Netplay on vizzed relies on one system being hosted for multiple people to play on. Game boy has two systems interacting with each other. The netplay on vizzed can not support dual-console interaction yet. I hope that one day they can get game boy netplay working.

As a consolation, however, maybe you can try playing Pokémon Stadium 2 instead. You can't use the team you made in Crystal (sadly we haven't figured out how to support that feature on vizzed yet), but at least it's Pokémon battling that works with netplay. Try using some rental Pokémon.

You needed a device called a transfer pack that would plug into your controller to play gbc games on your n64. You plug in the game in the transfer pack, though only a few games supported this and Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 were the only ones that actually let you play gb/gbc games (though only Pokémon RBY and GSC were playable). The transfer pack even let you use your Pokémon from your game boy games in stadium.

Sadly, Vizzed emulation does not yet support Transfer Pak functionality, though other emulators are able to do it with the right plug ins; all that's needed is the right rom and save file.

For me it would be Deoxys. It looks weird, but It was the last legendary that people were trying to figure out how to capture. The Internet was just starting to become more widespread with Pokémon information, so Deoxys was still full of mystery at the time.

My favorite was Cyndaquil. I love fire types plus Typlosion is really cool looking. Whenever I play Pokémon Gold, I'd always pick either Cyndaquil or Totodile.
