Jordanv78 : Nah man. Postponing shouldn't be an issue if we can't get a 12th person in 2 days. Since we got till mid September before the 1st game. Pushing the draft back to next Wednesday wouldnt be a problem...at least for my end but the extra days should give people time to do mocks, make plans that day, and see if any players get injured i.e. James White.

Hmm. So I'm thinking Wednesday night would be a good night to do the Manuel draft. Unless someone can't that day. I'm just going off what leggy and gamer said for their preferences. Me I don't have any preference as Wednesday sounds good

Surprised their isn't a thread about this news.

So incase someone doesn't follow football or hasn't heard this news. Ray Rice, a RB who used to play for the Baltimore Ravens was accused of hitting his fiancé, who later became his wife. At first Rodger Goodell, with advice from the Raven's ownership suspended Rice for 2 games over the accused beating. Later, a TMZ source revealed the tape of what happened during the confrontation between Rice and his fiancé. As a result, Rodger Goodell suspended Rice for the whole season and Rice filed an appeal to be reinstated. Rice argued that he is being punished twice for the same crime (double jeopardy). The judge agreed and Rice has now been reinstated.

Now the question is, will someone sign Rice to a deal? Here are some options...

1. Atlanta Falcons- Their run game isn't that good and Stephen Jackson has been disappointing to say the least. A Rice signing could be an upgrade and could improve Atlanta's offense that has been struggling a bit. Rice can catch the ball out of the backfield and could be decent in picking up the blitz, which will be helpful in protecting Matt Ryan.

2. Indianapolis Colts- They lost Bradshaw to an injury and Trent Richardson is clearly not performing well. A sign of Rice could replace Bradshaw and become their 1st and 2nd down back while Richardson becomes their short yardage and goal-line RB.

3. New York Jets- The Jets are in a rebuilding mode and Rex Ryan could be out a job. Chris Johnson hasn't performed the way the Jets thought he would and I believe is on a 1 year deal. Rice could be an improvement in both running the ball and catching the ball out of the backfield. The question would be does Ryan or the next head coach going to take the option.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers- Might sound weird given that Rice was a Raven, but this does have some sense. Steelers cut Blount over some antics, leaving Bell as their only good running back. Rice could provide some insurance incase Bell gets injured and give them a 3rd down option as Pittsburgh tries to separate from a crowded AFC North.

So here are some questions...

1. Do you agree with Rice's reinstatement?

2. Do you believe that Goodell should have suspended Rice longer the 1st time and should Goodell be blamed for Rice's reinstatement if you disagree with Rice being reinstated?

3. Do you believe he will sign with a team this season and who will sign him?

thing1 : A 2 league could be a good compromise, but it would have to be the unofficial one that David isn't sponsoring. I'm sure he would approve of a second league (and since a league doesn't take that much effort to do, even those in the 12 league could potentially join).

Now are you getting rid of bench? Cause you really need to have 2 QBs and Defenses because you just don't know how QB's and Defense will do at the start of the season (Panthers and Bears D as example). Maybe instead of a 16 player roster that we currently have that we limit it down to 14 cause you only need at least an extra QB, Def, 1 WR, 1 RB to fill out your bye period (assuming you draft correctly).

I think the bigger issue is that attending the draft should be MANDATORY. Cause we don't need people letting the computer decide their draft and they end up taking a person who isn't on the roster. And this is an easy solution because...

1. There is a draft app that you can use on your phone/tablet that works well.
2. We do it on a day that is easy/easiest for people to attend.

Also if we do a 12 man team, we should really focus on player our division rivals twice similar to how the NFL does. It makes no sense that both Me, mrfe's dad, and Maniacs are a combined 22-4 and in the same division while a division leader is at .500 or below. Just a suggestion that could help and we would most likely end up doing this if we do a 12-man league anyway.

I don't think we would really need to add a flex option if we are going to limit the league from 16 teams to 12 teams. As the players that those 4 cut off teams will fill out for a good majority of the players. For example...

team V's (who I assume we are not going to allow in next season given his inactivity) current roster is:

QB: Brady & Kaepernick
RB: Foster & Ball
WR: Tate, Wayne, Hunter, Bennett, Gordon.
K: Vinateri
Def: Buffalo.

So obvious those players are going to be picked up by the 12, if we just limit the league to 12 teams, it will limit the amount of players on the roster and add more options in the waiver wire.

Of course if we do a 12 team league, it will limit the amount of Vizzed users who will join. Obviously David will be 1 of those teams, those who come in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; so 1/3 of the spots are taken. Obviously V is gone. Not sure if Attack Pack will rejoin or mrfe's dad (although if he wins the league, I assume he will rejoin as title defender). So potentially we will lose 1 or 2 users who are active on the league.

Now this isn't a huge issue as this is a first come first serve type of deal and their is a limited amount of people on Vizzed who watch football, let alone play fantasy football. If we do a 12 man league next year, I would suggest that we create a "wait list" where those who wish to join the league but can't because the league is full can reserve a spot to replace a user if that user goes inactive for a certain amount of time.

I wouldn't mind seeing the flex option as an experiment for next season.

I disagree with limiting roster spots. If you do your draft correctly and you take into account your player's bye period, your starting roster shouldn't change that much. That is why at most I would need to swap out 1 WR and 1 RB. Not to mention if we limit to a 12-team league it will equal a more quality bench as I have previously stated. At least that would be true for QBs as a team as there would still be some starter QBs on the wire (like the Raiders or Jaguars QB).

I would suggest that if we do a 12 team league next year that we see how the draft goes before deciding on whether to limit roster spots/benches or if we do allow for a flex option.

Yes anybody can be funny. You just have to find your own brand of humor.

For example some jokes involve personal experiences that the comedian faced or seen

Ex: So I press the flight attendant button and the lady asks me "How can I help you?" I tell her "Yes I would like to make a complaint about the flight attendant's services, they have been really awful."

Some jokes involve making sarcastic comments about objects, people, or headlines.

Ex: Headline: Government officials say that missing cows is the result of rising milk prices; in other news Slaughterhouses report that they have too much meat and are cutting prices

Some jokes involve stereotypes.

Ex: Dave Chappelle, Carlos Mencia

While others involve props.

Ex: Carrot-top or that guy with the puppets.

Once you find your own type of humor, you must then find people who like that sort of jokes. This can be kind of hard to due as people have different types of humor. That is why its important to play too your audience (ex. If your doing a comedy event involving Rednecks, than you don't make jokes about Asians unless you can tie it into the event.)

Hopefully that helps a bit. Just remember that while half the effort involves coming up with good jokes, the other half involves knowing who your audience is.

Oh this seems like a good thread. We need some more threads dedicated to quotes/proverbs and what they mean. Here are some that I like (most of them involve war).

"A wise man speaks because he has something to say, a fool speaks because he has to say something." - Plato (My favorite)

"A brave man may fall, but he cannot kneel." - Greek Proverb

"Humans and animals kill each other, only humanity attempts to justify and rationalize their lethality." - Random Quote

"Sons bury their fathers in times of peace, in times of war father's bury their sons." - Greek Proverb.

This season is becoming crazy. First Josh Gordon is suspended, next you get the whole Ray Rice controversy, Wes Welker gets suspended 4 games, Matt Prater, now it looks like Adrian Peterson might miss some time for hitting his child too hard with a tree branch. Feels like your going to have to watch ESPN or Yahoo all day just to figure out who else is going to get suspended.

On another note I really hope Welker doesn't return this Sunday as that will cut into J. Thomas' production. Also good for whoever has Josh Gordon as his suspension could get reduce to 10 games. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, there are reports that if the NFLPA signs a new anti-drug policy that those who were suspended before the ratification of the new drug policy could have their suspensions reduced.

megamanmaniac : All depends on RG3 being healthy. Although I'm not sure why you traded away Tate when Bell is splitting reps with Bush and Tate is going to be getting major work with Gordon suspended given Cleveland's WR situation.

Kind of wish Yahoo would stop underselling some of my players. Benjamin projected 7 points, is kind of insulting when he is going to be Cam's #1 target (he should easily cover or at least earn double what he is projected). Steve Smith should earn more than 5 with Rice suspended and most likely the Ravens throw the ball 65% of the time if Pierce doesn't get going.

Also I really can't decide if I should start Williams or switch him for Bradshaw. I like Bradshaw's chances of getting more reps given Richardson's lack of yards this preseason plus last year; but Williams is the starter and should get more reps compared to Bradshaw if Richardson gets going.

Also I really can't decide if I should start Williams or switch him for Bradshaw. I like Bradshaw's chances of getting more reps given Richardson's lack of yards this preseason plus last year; but Williams is the starter and should get more reps compared to Bradshaw if Richardson gets going.

Just a heads up. I might be late for the draft as I get out of work around the time the draft starts. I should arrive by round 3. I'm hoping that my phone will allow me to do rounds 1-2 given that is where all the good players all, but I set my pre-draft rankings just in case my phone doesn't work.

I prefer to be by myself most of the time given that I have a lone-wolf mentality. However I do enjoy the company of friends that I'm familiar with or family. I'm not good with random strangers unless their is a common topic or thing we have in common.

thing1 : Try creating a different yahoo account under a different name. I'm thinking that underscore might be effecting the login. Try something like FlyingFalcons or DawnofRavens with the @yahoo.com at the end. Still have openings available.

thing1 : So far only 9 have renewed (unless we started adding the new guys already). 6 of the 9 have posted their team names on here already. And if sox, mlb, and Jordan renew; that would put us at 12. Plus since Leggy decided not to join and I don't think 3 of the previous players will renew; we will have at least some spots open.
