Only three images I want to post.

This is the only entrance to the sunken tower. The true entrance, as the following signs

and this long-destroyed room

show, the official entrance was washed away long ago...

(In all seriousness, the tower goes down about four floors. Let me tell you, of the stuff I've built on the server (my home, my mansion, my crafting pavilion, and this,) the sunken tower was the hardest. I don't know how many times I came close to drowning - and I don't know how to make or where to buy night vision and water breathing potions. If it wasn't absurdly ambitious, I would have gone down to the seafloor.

And yes, it defies physics. Let's say that the underwater city anchors it, and be done with it.)

ghostfishy : One such move, Miracle Eye, already exists.

Anyway, two new moves from me.

Normal/Special
120 BP
100 ACC
All foes.
5 PP

With Godlike power, the user creates a miniature universe. This move deals untyped damage.

Destructive Force
Normal/Physical
50 BP
100 ACC
One nearby foe.
15% chance to sharply raise Attack., Sp. Atk, and Speed
5 PP

The user amasses destructive power, and rams a foe. This move deals untyped damage, and may raise offensive stats.

Both are unique to Arceus.

Yet Another Fire Red Hack. Just, Yet Another Fire Red Hack. It's easily one of the best hacks I've played.

My favorite Pokemon hack...

This is an honestly tough question, seeing as I'm not fond of most of the more ambitious projects *cough*Victory Fire*cough*.

That doesn't mean I can't pick a couple of hacks, but I do believe the likes of Light Platinum and Flora Sky to be overrated. I can't give a single favorite hack, so you'll have to put up with my rambling.

The first of my two favorite hacks is Touhoumon Purple. If the name is unfamiliar, that's because it isn't in the RGR. The game takes vanilla Emerald and replaces every Pokemon with animated puppets that resemble the cast of the Touhou franchise. The other one is Yet Another Fire Red Hack, one I've previously written a review on. It's main claim to fame is that it has 151 Pokemon spanning the first five generations. Other than that, it's vanilla Fire Red.

Both games have two things in common. First, they both edit the roster in some way, shape, or form while leaving plot untouched. Second, they're difficult. Really difficult. But for all the right reasons. Both rely more on good AI and balanced enemy movesets for difficult, instead of obscene level curves and stupidly-high BSTs. Sure, the curve can be a bit steep, but it's no worse than Platinum.

Then there's Dark Violet.

Dark Violet is a hack that has gone through many iterations - the most recent one going up to the seventh gym. It's a Kanto game with a roster spanning five generations and a completely redone Kanto. By completely redone, I mean that the hacker created what amounts to a Gen V Kanto, with all of the plot that descriptor entails. My only objections are the quality of the dialogue, and certain design choices the hacker made. But even with those flaws, Dark Violet is the main reason I dislike only most of the ambitious hacks.

I'm speechless.

I expected to get only the 2500 prize, not second place.

I'll take the 15 grand in MViz, I guess.

Zlinqx : Blue is, at the very least, one of the first video games I've ever played. It was a great game, and I had fun with it, but it has its issues. Case in point, Missingno. and the Psychic type.

My point is, I agree with you. They were good for their time, but later entries were much better.

Around the time I truly became a fixture on the server, I tried going into Gen. Lag killed me. Or rather, the lag let the Zombies kill me.

I recovered, I got diamonds, I had more successful runs. But recently, lag killed me again.

That got me thinking "Hey, this portal should be made safer." So I petition the board to either get the portal moved, or else build a safehouse around it.

Thank you for your time.

Zlinqx : Regarding Touhou, the core games are a series of shoot 'em ups - specifically bullet curtain shoot 'em ups. There are a few fighting game spinoffs, but even those are more projectile focused than the rest of the genre. The games are also notoriously difficult, but there's no shame in playing on easy.

If you don't want to jump right in to the bullet curtain titles, I can recommend the Touhoumon hacks as a good starting point. You can even find three of them in the RGR - Merry's Version, World Link, and Another World. Don't start with any of those, by the way - Merry's Version has an absurd level curve, and the latter two have 'mons that outclass Mega-Mewtwo's BST by 210 points. There's also Marisa's Magic World, but that's more of a utility than a fleshed out game.

My personal recommendations regarding Touhou are Touhoumon Blue on the Touhoumon front, and Double Dealing Character on the official games front.

I kept my (delayed) introduction in the newbie forum short, so I'll be a little more detailed here.

I'm Swiftwynd, though I go by ZephyrValgale in other parts of the Internet. I'm a nineteen year old guy what incessantly plays video games. I originally stumbled on the site after my younger brother found it, and I joined to remove the five plays per day limit on the games.

Regarding games, I like anything made or licensed by Nintendo (especially Pokémon), Touhou (and its many fan games), and any RPG not named Final Fantasy XII. I also have a few games on steam (though I mostly play Skyrim), and I have a paid Minecraft account. I've even been on the server a few times - if you see a guy in a Youmu skin named StormSageZeph, that's me.

I wish to become a more notable part of the forums, and I hope to enjoy the rest of my time here.

Zlinqx : Went ahead and added you, and may lurk around the MC server (assuming no lag-based shenanigans occur).

And as an open reply, thanks for the welcome! I intend to make myself an active part of the community from here on out, and I hope you all don't mind my commentary.

I'll go ahead and make an "About Me" thread outside of the newbie forums now.

Not counting the Lake of Rage Gyarados (but counting Rom hacks), I have 3. A shiny Zangoose in Black (deleted that save), a shiny something-or-other in a hack that raised the odds of finding a shiny to 1/500 or so (forgot the hack's name), and my magnum opus - a shiny CRin in an LP of Touhoumon Aqua+Yui (alternatively, Touhoumon Merry's Version). The best part is, I got that last one on camera.

Pokémon, with Touhou in a very, very close second. I grew up with the former, and got hooked on the latter via the RGR.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
