while i have a major soft spot for Mario Kart Wii, my favorite has to be Mario Kart 7. even if the character roster is odd and there's only 8 racer's, i think as a game it's a ton of fun and still has a lot to offer. especially in online matches and local wireless. which made playing it at lunch with friends easy as pie, it's just a shame the official online servers are down and while Pretendo exists, it has its limitations. despite this, i think the game is solid, i genuinely love the course selection, the glider mechanic and the soundtrack. it's hard for me not to love Mario Kart 7!

if i had to pick a few franchises i want to see comeback, it has to be starfy, robopon and technictix/technic beat.

firstly, the legendary starfy series. its a series i grew up loving and having played the other entries, its a genuine shame they never came out overseas. not to mention the series has a lot of potential to be a fun game that even casual gamers can enjoy, even if people aren't super big on floaty platformers.. i still think the series can make a come back especially with the GBA trilogy being available on nintendo switch online's catalogue of classic games. it's just a matter of TOSE deciding on when to do so and if they want to, as they do a lot of 3rd party work for nintendo, i wonder if they're gonna consider it soon..

secondly, robopon. robopon is a series like pokemon but with robots, its pretty cool! i've only really played the GBC games and i genuinely love them, the mechanics are fairly in-depth for a pokeclone and its worth checking out even if the series has been dormant for a while. even if the stories are a bit cliche, i still think the series, its humour and game-play has merit especially with people yearning for pokemon's more simpler times pre-XYZ.

lastly, technictix/technic beat. this one is a LOT more obscure than the last two, this was an arcade/PS2 game by Arika. it's a 3d rhythm game and is very hard to explain, you move a character along a small 3d field and you get your character in these circles that pop up and make sure your character spins in them to go along with the rhythm. while there is an iOS game called pitapat beat, its really old and hasn't been updated aside from getting it to work on more modern iOS versions. there is potential for this series to come back as a proper title and with the many talented composers at Arika and the chance to license video game remixes to entice more people? i think people will be curious and give it a shot!

if i had to pick 1 sonic game and only 1, i'd personally pick sonic heroes. not only was it my first sonic game ever but i genuinely find the gameplay and mechanics fun. once you learn how to take advantage of team formations and aren't afraid of replaying stages sometimes then i personally recommend it. even with its flaws, the game itself is a genuine blast.

make no mistake, i get this game is rather divisive among sonic fans and sony certainly did not help with it as they contributed to why its development was so chaotic, but knowing i can play as the chaotix(espio, vector and charmy)is awesome. ontop of that, the voice acting is really well done and the cutscenes were nice too. plus the villain too, even if its been 20 years i still don't wanna spoil it, seriously go check it out!

part of me wishes the game had more time to develop and that the staff weren't absolutely stretched thin, especially with sony adding to that already stressful development period with them insisting sonic heroes be on the ps2, only for it to hilariously be the worst way to play heroes. regardless, even if your not a fan of heroes, at least the soundtrack is a genuine bop!

this game, if you can even call it that is Image - Megaman for the Atari 2600. i originally was under the impression of this being a small tech demo with the main image as a title screen but i was wrong. upon investigation i made the very apparent discovery that this is indeed an image and that's all the game was. nothing more, nothing less.

now to this tech demo's credit, the image here looks pretty good for something on the Atari 2600. baring in mind that the graphics on the console were fairly limited, each line could only be 1 color so seeing an image like this on hardware(albeit in an emulator)like that to me is very impressive and its why i personally rated the graphics incredibly high. i think its worth praising since its the main feature of this "game", while i sadly don't know who made it(even search engines struggled), i hope they know their work is being appreciated. that said, what else can i even say?

aside from the mesmerizing graphics and clear effort put into displaying a picture of Mega man, there's nothing here. there's no game, just sprites and while those sprites would look even better on a proper CRT.. Sadly most emulators lack a filter like that so it looks like the image is flickering which might cause people with photo sensitivity to have a seizure which i urge people with photo sensitive epilepsy to avoid this. for everyone else who is curious, take a look. i promise you, your gonna be real disappointed if you think there's a game in there somehow.
