So after this I switched to the surperior Sonic Adventure DX via emulation Basically after the cut scene off the egg carrier, head over to tails house and you get to play a little minigame called sky chase. I think either the Jump or spindash button fires and holding it= lock on After finishing that and a cut scene head to the casino area to meet Amy for a scene then to where the Elevator is near the coast and river to the sewer outside the station I guess now is a good time as ever to tell you all Chao breeders and emblem hunter where all of them are unless this gets me banned for Plagiarism From Jr786's Sonic Adventure DX emblem guide)(Note that some can be found only with different characters) = Station Square #1. In the Train Station. #2. In the Burger Shop. #3. In the courtyard where you first fought Chaos 0. #4. In the alley in the Casino section. = Mystic Ruins #1. On the ledge across from Tails' Workshop. #2. In the air close to Angel Island. #3. On a path in the Mystic Ruins Rain Forest. #4. In the tree of Big's Hut. = Egg Carrier #1. Above and across the pool. #2. On the high rotating dish. (transformation required) #3. In Robotnik's bed. (transformation required) #4. In a box near the glass area. (transformation required) (Major credits to Jr786 for the emblem guide here, you can check his helpful guide at https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=944135086 for more info on Emblems for all you Emblem hunters and 100% completionists) For more information on Chao egg locations check out https://chao-island.com/info-center/misc/secret-eggs which has tips and such on Chao breeding Now with the shilling and sort of plagiarism out of the way. Head in side the elevator to the next stage Twinkle Park: The first area has you needing to get a ride, so homing attack all or most of the baddies riding one and take a car. The raceway can be annoying due to the fact if you go slow you'll lose rings or die so make sure to go fast and stay on track. The second area is semi straightforward and quite fun. make sure to homing attack the item boxes one you get to the castle /tower esque area. Also wait for the spike balls to land and when they come back up run through them. After beating the level head outside and grab the keycard that landed in the cutscene. Go to the building near the Twinkle Park entrance for the next level Speed Highway: This level is fun and awesome. First two sections are very straightfoward and the last you'll need to find a fountain that bursts to find the goal After that cutscene, then go to the casino area for another scene then head on the train to Mystic Ruins for another scene then go to where IceCap entrance is but head onward to the Angel Island area and grab the powerup, use it on the Caged robot monkey to reach the next level Red Mountain: This level has a few gimmicks, the first area has a few rocks with steam coming out and you can use those two propel yourself foward. There are also alternate pathways that can make ompleting the level quicker. The second area is mostly going foward and homing attacking enemies to follow a path to the end. After you beat the level you get a scene a cool minigame with a miniboss (to avoid the minibosses laser attack head to the bottom left and make sure to mash the shoot button to destroy it. Cutscene, head foward, another cutscene, head up the ramp with the door, cutscene, next level It's at this point that the levels get slightly harder and harder but still have ways to complete. Sky Decks 2nd area has you grabbing onto certain things to avoid wind flow, Lost worlds puzzles can be a pain, and Final Egg has a lot of parts that require perfect timing. The cutscenes mostly tell your where to go and bosses like Chaos 6 (throw Eggmans ice thingys into its mouth then homing attack when its frozen) and the Egg Viper (Homing attack when eggman is out, avoid lasers, time jumps during the spinning things to get on them and homing attack Eggman, avoid Egg viper when it kamikazes your after draining it's health.) Can be hard but with enough practice and trial/error you can make it to the end of Sonics story. I should also mention before the FInal Egg level in the massive looking tower where you see Eggman retreating to has a very annoying Password thing that requires you to step on a button and get all 6 yellow. It's randomized so you'll need all the patience you can get. This Guide Right Now only covers Sonic:
First off I wanna know if these are editable cause i'm gonna speeeennnd a lot of time on this. So Sonic Adventure is a game released in the late 90s by SEGA and the start of the Dreamcast/Gamecube saga ending with the mediocre Shadow The Hedgehog. Fun fact: this game was originally meant to be on Saturn as seen here (Notice how they don't have the colored eyes) Note: You can read about development here "https://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Adventure/Development" Now onto the game Controls DPAD: Camera Analog: Move Start: start obviously A: Jump B: Spin dash, Carry/Throw X:Carry item Y:Carry Item L and R: Pan Camera -You can shake items by pressing B,X, or Y and using the analogue stick Personally I find the Dreamcast version lacking as the Gamecube port is vastly superior with upgraded models, better graphics, and the ability to skip cutscenes along with Game Gear minigames when collecting the Emblems. Anyway when you first start you see a cutscene that actually spoils a part of the game for you as in, an actual FMV from the last chapter (the city and water monster one). So the first character everyone starts with is Sonic "AWW YEAH THIS IS HAPPENIN'" The Hedgehog who after some night in Station Square gets to fight the first boss Chaos 0: Very easy, telegraphed attacks, use the jump button twice to homing attack it. Two cut-scenes play with mediocre at best voice acting and then it's on to the first level Emerald Coast: Level is pretty straightfoward with minimum difficulty, certain areas like the umbrella near the start and the tunnel at the second part contain Items. Also has the famous running from an orca scene. NOTE: the loop before the pier with checkppoint has a very finicky control sequence when emulating so you might die a few times After another cutscene (and unlocking the Tails Story) go to the station and collect an emblem by jumping on the ledge around near the second floor the flooring for this ledge is colored orange-ish brown After you arrive in Mystic Ruins explore a bit and at one area you'll find a cutscene (I suck at directions) where you fight the next boss Egg Hornet: Easy, when he says "All systems full power" and drills into the ground avoid the attack and when he's fully drilled use a homing attack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-9mG0XrBCU (see 0:55 for Egg Hornet strategy) After another cut-scene head near the building to pick up a stone and take that stone to a cave near the waterfall for the next level Windy Valley, the first part has a "branching path" with those flying small windmill things, quotations because it leads to the same area as the normal path but you get an item. Also, when you get to the bridge it'll get dark and the bridge breaks but if your fast enough get to the middle and homing attack the item box for a 1-up. The Tornado part is a straightfoward path and the 3rd part is where things get different. On the third half on of the loops when emulating SA1 is a pain to deal with since Sonic is supposed to go in a forward direction but the emulation seems to make it forward left causing a few difficultys (and deaths). Thankfully the parts after are easy and straightfoward. After this head back to Station Sqaure, when at Station Sqaure head into the Second Area which contains the arena where you fought Chaos 0 theres an open manhole. Once your in jump up to the balcony and get the Light Speed shoes. Hold the spindash button and then release to follow the ring path. Then head to the hotel, go up the stairs and use the two buttons, one opens a door and one creates a trail of rings. Time it and you can get an upgrade that shortens the time it takes to charge up the Light Speed/Dash mechanic then head through the other door that doesn't lead to the pool This takes you to an area with a Casino, the switch there reveals a trail of rings so use that to open the door and head to Level 3 Casinopolis: This level sucks, it sucks it sucks it sucks. You have to gather 400 rings to reach the Chaos Emerald thats in the room with the two rotating Gold Coins. I used the Nights and Sonic ones to gather them and if you don't have 100 rings you get dumped to what is basically a long hallway, you'll need to gather rings, avoid enemies and spikeballs and at the end use the light dash to get a few itemboxes and climb up a ladder. Once you eventually gather enough rings you get 2 more cutscenes. One shows you a certain key thats in the alley near where the casino is so after the cutscene where Eggy steals your s*** grab it and head on the train to Mystic Ruins while holding it. You should see a cutscene that reveals another entrance so jump up the rocks and head in there, go up and you'll find a door with a snowflake symbol, that's where you release/throw the Ice key. After that head up the ladder. Ice Cap: I won't talk about the long path on this because there's a shorter way. Remember those jump panels from Emerald Coast? theres one labeled 2 on the small cliff/hill when you go downwards after leaving the starting area but before jumping on the spring and going to the lighter-looking cave. Using it lets you skip that part and on to the second area which is mostly easy if you know platforming basics. The third area is a straightfoward slope on a snowboard thats fun and easy at the same time. You can press the jump button on a ramp to gain speed and do a trick. After you finish the level head down and towards the waterfall to fight Knuckles who is easy and eventually Chaos 4: Chaos 4 can be hard for newcomers. But if you keep jumping and avoid it's telegraphed attacks it will eventually come up and you can homing attack it That's all i'm writing for now First off I wanna know if these are editable cause i'm gonna speeeennnd a lot of time on this. in other words some recent news came out that the playstation is just the pcsx r emulator but you have to pay
So basically, you could just play it here https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/11/sony-using-open-source-emulator-for-playstation-classic-plug-and-play/ So basically, you could just play it here https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/11/sony-using-open-source-emulator-for-playstation-classic-plug-and-play/ |

my best guess for not adding crash or spyro would be because of the recent trilogy remasters that are out and coming out respectively, Personally i would remove ff7 for the same reason since it's already out on almost every PlayStation console and |

i guess i'll throw my 2 cents into as to why (from someone who doesn't frequent the site often). Mostly because, for people like me who came here back in its heyday for the roms simply just.. well they kinda move on in life, they go to college; get a job, start a family, and even though this site boasts over 600k users most are probably just trying to live a normal life since it's rare to stay on a site your whole lifetime, of course by word of mouth people may eventually find this place and enjoy but i feel for david since he's the one keeping this site alive and the mods for having it be their duty to at least fix the site in anyway possible. I don't see the site dying right now because in general it's the same as many other sites with a dedicated userbase. Maybe i'm just optimistic but i don't really know. |

Then again, you know your trailers bad when the sonic twitter and screwattack of all things make fun of it. The fact that one of the creators called it unforgivable and c*** and to mention it's on the cringe channel of all things. |

i'm interested in it, might get all 3, i still need more info on stuff like bank compatibility, prices, or any ability to buy all games at one or you can only play red and yellow (assuming you chose red) or the ability to trade with yourself, (highly unlikely) but legend of zelda oracles did something like that with the linked thing (not 100% sure). i would like to see a translated green, or Japanese blue. and maybe some of the things seen for Japanese people
