My sincere condolences to all who may have been impacted by this mass shooting event. Many lives had ended far too soon this morning and many families have been scarred. My heart goes out to each and every one of you affected and I can only hope that you may find some peace in the coming years.

Davideo7 : I REFUSE!!! I REFUSE!!! I so absolutely refuseeeeeeee... to enable adblock on this site. XD Seriously, enabling adblock (even with the item) is just asking for this site to die. And so I refuse. No matter how much I contribute in the future, I wouldn't want to hinder the success of this site. I mean, if anyone gets upset about this move and leaves, you didn't need them here anyway. They'd only be costing the site more than they contribute. Do what you need to do to keep us afloat. I applaud you.

m0ssb3rg935 : Certainly. I suppose different people may have different ideas as to what the transgender community implies, however my post is only asking for opinions on the popular transgender media, at the moment. This only involves those who were born as one sex, but identify as the opposite.

Hermaphrodites are people who were born with reproductive organs of both the male and female sexes. Sometimes people associate hermaphrodites as people who have secondary sex characteristics that are similar to their opposite sex, but hermaphrodites are, by definition, born as both sexes. Therefore, hermaphrodites transitioning to a certain sex really only means that they are choosing to eliminate the certain qualities that they were born with in favor of other qualities they were also born with.

Otherkin are an interesting subject, but once again, they stray from the original topic at hand. I'm not really sure that popular media even really understands what "otherkin" are, at the moment. Transgender people are people who were born with a certain physical dysphoria that (be it from the way society views them or the way they view themselves) causes them extreme discomfort when being force to identify as the sex they were born as. Otherkin encompasses a large variety of different transitions. While some may include otherkin as a member of the transgender community, they are not the subjects of the media attention, at the moment, and thus, are not including in my questioning.

Thank you very much for the clarification request.

yoshirulez! : Observation is, in its own right, research. Thank you very much for elaborating on your previous post. I only felt that the brevity of your original statement felt more of an attack than it was an observational statement. Your response was well thought out and I appreciate that.

maguc : While I do agree with your end statement asking if there were some way he could go about researching before posting, I have to say that the language in your post is a bit harsh and disrespectful. Just like you have posted your opinions, he has posted his. They may come into direct conflict with your own, but I ask that you remain civil with this discussion. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with what he has said, but it just seemed a bit harsh of a read. If you'd like to debate his opinions, might I suggest posting research to back up your claims rather than calling him names? Responding with great research is a great strategy in winning a debate, after all. And who knows? It might help inform others who read your post.

yoshirulez! : Please be aware that there may or may not be transgender Vizzed members who are viewing this thread. Telling people that their identities are inconsequential and leaving it at that is rude. If you could post research to back up your post, that would be appreciated, but otherwise please refrain from short posts that merely work to alienate.

Hello, people of the Vizzed board!
In today's American media, transgender people are at the forefront of public attention. I'm curious on how the people of Vizzed actually view the actions of those who identify as transgender during these times. The transgender community seems to have flown under the radar for a while now and suddenly, laws have been put into effect for the "betterment" of transgender people that have, in fact, brought transgender people back into the spotlight, for better or worse. I'd like to know if the people of Vizzed actually believe that this newfound media attention is in the transgender community's best interest or if you believe it just make things worse. How do you view the new bathroom laws? Do you have certain opinions of transgender people, in general? I'd like to hear some honest feedback, however, I understand that this is a hot button topic. I ask that everyone be respectful of others' opinions on this thread, even if their opinions come in direct conflict with your own. Let this be a safe place to express your opinion. Remember, no flaming please.
