patrat : There's one little issue with the advice Chewedmint gave you, most of the moves he mentioned aren't even in the game. Since it is a hack of Pokémon Ruby moves like Dark Pulse, Dragon Pulse or Aura Sphere aren't even available in the hack, due to being released after Pokemon Ruby.

I generally had next to no problem with the team I used:
Charizard/Milotic/Electivire/Scrafty/Excadrill/Archeops (Scrafty can probably be replaced with Lucario or any other Fighting type, but I like how it learns a lot of those moves you need to advance in the Lauren region: Ice Smash, Rock Climb, Focus Punch. Also, I highly recommend Archeops. It gets a surprisingly well-balanced moveset, and has huge attacking capabilities.)

You do get a Lucario in Flamerny Town if I recall correctly. (Remember the lake where you got to catch the Feebas at the beginning of the game? That town on the other side. You get Lava Surf there as well.) In a house, someone will give you a Riolu. Train it to level 35 and it'll evolve to Lucario.

@Honest_Mike: I'm not entirely sure what could cause that glitch, except to assume that you saved ingame - I would suggest to try and fix the issue by using a save state and restarting from that until it works. If that doesn't work, well, I'm sorry, I can't think of anything except restarting.

@killerrocks: If you mean the boat that takes you from Esmerald City to Bamboach City, not to my knowledge. If you mean the Wailord Boat travel to Imatari Island before you can get to challenge the 3rd gym in Seanport, only if you lose to someone.
