GateKeeper_A, thank you for your insight. I see others have come up with the idea before me, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. It's at least something to reference to while I do my research on the subject, but it'll be a long time before I get it developed. I am participating in a Pathfinder's Campaign group myself, and I hope I'll be able to learn enough from playing the game to use in the creation of this FFd20 setting I'm brainstorming.

Regarding the Job system, I'm not really sure how to incorporate that at all. The way I see it, that would require you to carry a lot more sheets attached to your character, especially for magic classes. Perhaps a more open-ended job system would work, like what we've seen in FF12 and even Skyrim. This way, character development could be more skill and feat focused, stats generalized to however we'd like, and some added versatility when needed, perhaps. Maybe for simplicity, we can use the FFV job system as a bases for how growth works for job experience, learning feats or skills after using a job enough times. However, it's all still a hypothesis, so input would be nice.

At the moment, I'm open for a discussion, I have no actual plans to make this actually happen until I get some experience with pen and paper RPGs. The idea is to create a Final Fantasy XII/Tactics/Tactics Advance/A2 setting adapted to the d20 rule and playable with pen and paper. Fortunately, I am involved with a Pathfinders game group, so I have a chance to not only study, but experience how the d20 system works.

Well, there goes that idea. I really need to post what I've discovered, but there's no double posting on this forum, and I don't know who does the maintenance for the retro room here.

So if I mention someone's name, like Bintsy for instance, they'll get a notification and may come looking? Does this also work for editing posts as well?

Thank you Mal and everyone else.

I was wondering who I could talk regarding technical issues running emulators on the site? I have a thread up addressing the issue, but since no one has replied since my last post, I'm unable to report my recent findings.

I wonder if this is the right place, but I think it's close enough, anyway~:

I had an idea floating in my head for a long while about adapting a Final Fantasy setting into d20 rules and making it a table top RPG. The setting will use the Ivalice setting set out by Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Advance, A2, and XII. It's got a lot of fluff already (special thanks goes to FFXII's bestiary and plethora of Side quests), and several games all taking place in the land of Ivalice.

I've also been wondering to myself if the Job System could be incorporated into the d20 system? Being able to change jobs on the fly is fun, but I haven't figure out anything with that yet. The races were pretty easy to relate to the basic fantasy races, so let me list them here.

Hume <-> Human (of course, they're one and the same)
Viera <-> Elf
Bangaa <-> Dwarf
Moogle <-> Gnomes
Nu Mou <-> Tiefling? (Not sure, just my best guess.)
Seeq <-> Orc/Half Orc
Gria <-> Dragonkin (or however it's listed)

So that's what I've gotten thought out so far. Has anyone else had a similar thought, or has my idea already been tried/produced?

My favorite Final Fantasy is VI. I really enjoyed the story and the music that accompanied it along the way. My next favorite is Final Fantasy 10, again having an enthralling story that I enjoyed so much that I felt it necessary to get the sequel for closure, and both were fun to play. My third favorite is Final Fantasy XII, but this time, not because of the story, but because of the Cosmic amount of lore, background, and character information stuffed into it, as well as the spectacularly composed music tracks and the battle system.

Other runner ups are Final Fantasy I, II, IV, and VII. With the exception of II, I haven't beaten the others listed. VII was fun, but over hyped, like my opinion of Diablo II.

I see all kinds of hacks as I look through the library more thoroughly. Too bad, there are some Japanese games I want to play that don't have translations. I want to try, but I don't know Japanese. I got books and language teaching software, but I don't got someone to teach me. :<

Could it be an issue with system performance and/or specs, or perhaps the settings of the plugin that supports running the games with? I'm still experimenting here, but all I can do here is flip switches and see what works. I don't have the software to tweak the inner workings.

Okay, with all my tinkering that I know how to do, I fixed the issue with my save game... then it came back... then it got fixed again. This has me perplex, but overall, the issue has been resolved. So thank you all for the help you have given. :3

Yeah I noticed all the Pokémon hacks... there are pages of them all. Makes it hard to browse without being specific. I haven't tried out that many yet. Pokémon isn't a game you pick up and play.

ROM hacking is interesting, but what games can one hack at the moment? I was wondering if I could learn the art myself, and apply it to more then making Pokémon hacks, like a Fire Emblem hack. :3

Thank you. If I recall, I actually had trouble saving in Paper Mario when I ran the ROM file through the Project64 Emulator. Perhaps this might help?

That's about all I know about the issue. Thank you for looking in to it.

I tried it out with both copies on the site. I'm thinking one's USA and the other is European.

https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/game.php?id=9146
and
https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/game.php?id=64261

in both copies, I used the 1964 emulator, the one supported the plugin this site provides.

I'm Cole Mcgrath from inFamous.

I can survive electrical blasts that can incinerate anyone within a 50 meter radius... but if all the electricity is gone, how will I survive?

If there is already a thread about this, forgive me for not knowing about it.

Anyway, I'm having a problem saving my game in Paper Mario for the N64. The in game save functions don't work, and making a save state and loading it causes the player to quit. Any ideas what might be going on?

I saw you checking out my thread earlier. :3

I was kind of curious if it was possible that I could make my own hacks. I don't have any idea's at the moment, but being able to tinker with a ROM file sounds like fun. In fact, I started modding with TESIII: Morrowind, and had lots of fun with that. :3

Another thing that's curious, how come you guys have pictures in your post box? I've been to plenty of Forums over the net, but I haven't seen a format that let's you post a picture in the post box. :o

Hello everyone. I am Zero_Raider1  and I am a hardcore gamer by hobby. I'm rather surprise a site like this exists where I can use emulators and roms inside a browser. Not to mention the mountains of Pokémon Hacks all over this site. It's rather silly, but at the same time, interesting. I don't mean to offend all the people who took time to make them, and I apologize if I did.

Is there someone or someplace who/that can tell me about the site, or give me a tour?
