Fancdew  :  That is good of you to share your feelings on the subject. Thank you very much.

I ought to point out before I sign off that Eminem has made some rather racist-ish recordings. He has cursed out entire communities of people far less peculiar than the trannies. His voice did have an influence. Now that public sentiment has turned against what he is known for saying, he is rarely heard about.

The greatest widespread effect Donald has had from just being recorded : talking that one time very lewdly about women. There were[still are] hateful, crass jerks all over the USA irreverently never giving women respect. The dawn of the day it became the "in" thing for people with hate- control problems to direct their ever-present hatred solely at the Donald, they started attempting a civil tongue so as not to be like the one they hated. Mister President is having an unexpected effect in reforming the behavior of horrible people so they may hate him more purely.

Homework assignment : Please, "do" try this at home.

Every single time something goes wrong in your personal life, acknowledge that it is definitely Donald Trump's fault that this drawback has befallen you. He's evil, right? Everybody says so. That makes all your problems his fault. It's not like your world experienced abjection before he won the presidential election so who else's agenda could have ruined your life, screwed up your day or made you feel enraged with your present situation?

At the mere mention of DT, practice assuming a bad mood complete with glued on dour expression. He did this to you. Do not deny it.

That's the true beauty of being female. You can say that you like women to loads of people and no one will freak. Women are seldom seen as the predators men can be. Even when women do have a history of predation and that is known to all present, the benefit of the doubt is usually tendered unconditionally. Judicial professionals get special training to cure that bias.

Be up front about your preferences. Not something that everyone needs to know[it is your personal life, after all]. When you decide you really like someone with no Y-chromosome, that preference ought to become the very next thing they learn about you - immediately before asking without demanding anything or giving creepy-too-interested-eyes, if they might like you that way. Do not emphasize your needs or even a need to know her answer. Keep your voice soft and aim for sympathy. Even if they say nothing or just a no, don't be upset.

Most importantly, do not drop away from friends and acquaintances you were interested in because they did not share your amorous interest. A network is your social arsenal. Keep in touch with people who say no but remain friendly. Dropping them the very moment they indicate no interest is terrible form. The best you can do is to respond calmly and congenially.

I would have no friends if I adopted an aversion to everyone who had not wanted a romantic relationship with me. Keep being nice. The second they say no to you is the point from which they learn who you really are. So be who you have been. Consistent. You stop being nice after hearing no and they will see a second face reform under your brow. Be a single personality human being.

It is always a mistake to ask someone for such a thing by text. It's highly impersonal. Meeting someone congenially is highly personal. There is an obvious status conflict between the interaction you chose and the interaction you want.

Texting it was not even the first mistake. It couldn't have been. If someone was gasping with excitement every time they got correspondences from you, even a flimsy, impersonal text might pass mettle.

Do you know how to flirt? Would you recognize it if someone was flirting with you?

I am not entirely sure the instant crushes you keep having are being communicated to the subjects of your feelings. There are actually improvement courses you can take to work specifically on flirting. Get that point across that you like them that way is the main goal for communicating.

I will agree . That Eminem is some rude weirdo .  Trump polarizes people for political reasons, Eminem does it to sell records as he famously explains in his raps .

Furret :  What can I say? I allowed you to save face after you trolled and now you are doing it again. You aptly point out here people that like it when you troll. The attitude of your feedback has been far from selfless. More irreverence than any significant substance added to the discussion.

If you had made your feedback more like the post I actually liked, that would have been genuine and helpful. You are a troll for your own amusement and only after being warned about it did you backtrack and now you backhandedly troll.

So I was right to call you out for your rat fink behavior. Only after that have you done as one should. After this duplicitous nature of yours has been revealed, do you really believe you can con people into thinking you do not lie?

Ferrets and by extension, Furret are weasels. Thus Furret, you are a weasel by your own choosing.

You also might want to go back and edit old posts while you still can. Every time I catch you lying, I will draw attention to it.

The Internet lasts beyond living memory.

EX Palen : It all seems so reasonable. Perhaps you are right. That traditional method of your mentioning has scarcely worked for me.
I state this as someone who types very precisely. If I ever make a typing error, I have always made sure to fix it immediately. I do not wait to the end to proofread for it. Seldom do I have anything to fix when I spell check every thing I post.

So my advice does not work for you. Your tips have rarely worked for me. We surprisingly still agree on most points.

Thank you for the insights. I tried to change the title of this thread to include your user name but it would not let me. Typical.

By the way, it is just a colon. Double colon would mean two of the separating punctuation marks.
Edit: Oh looky. Came out as plain text. Time to employ my winning strategy to your name.

:  Thank you for your input.

By "traditional" system , do you happen to mean the old post editor?

I generally do not use the old post editor since there are an exceptional number of handy options in the new one. I suppose I could adjust my settings to use the old one by default but I do like where I am at right now. I also hold the old post editor responsible for many unexpected reloads which would always erase everything I had typed to that point. Throwing my hands in the air out of exasperation after typing thousands of words is not how I wanted to decide to give up on typing out game reviews on those particular days.

I am not expecting anyone to "abide by" the parameters of my advice, I am simply putting it forth so people know that there is a way that works. I have searched for a help thread like this one to make sure I was not redoing the subject but it seems no user has ever made one specifically to help people out of this jam.

If you could elucidate about "the exact procedure to summon through the traditional format", I am sure anyone taking the concept of "helping people" seriously would welcome the further contribution to the discussion.

Thank you for not being fussy. That is quite refreshing from what I have typically read in the help forum here.

In most sites and apps, there are ways to disable notifications for just about everything even if they occur by default. It just so happens that disabling them has not been worked into Vizzed. I see that now. It would be far from impossible to make it a Vizzed utility to disable anything that annoys us. I have learned to never underestimate the impossible.

Still can't trust a weasel though. They lie. Sometimes just to amuse themselves and other times for personal gain.

Oh. How fantastic. You have adjusted your settings to not receive any summon notifications. Either that or you are just flatly lying. I would not assume either deception was beneath you, given your inflammatory behavior so far.

Humour is definitely to be allowed, even when spelled the ignorant American way. I humbly point out that there are times when it is misplaced or does not suit a given circumstance. You would not throw old eggs at a foreign aid worker as a prank when they are out domestically canvassing for funding, would you?

I do not like the smell of your eggs. Your humour stinks.

All I am attempting to do is aid people around here in curtailing a minor foible Vizzed inherently has in this posting function. The plaint about failed summons is frequent for people who post and that somehow stresses them out just a little bit. It is no cure all. People will still lack the patience and persistence I easily have to ensure it works every time. Even with the provided advice, people will still do it wrong. When that happens, they will blame the method, not their own poor execution of the steps.

Why would you stand in the way of getting more information out there when it has a high likelihood of helping people solve a woe?

: See thread post at the top. Do read it entirely this time. Also, go back to it any time as a reference guide when you are making a post you want to include the summon function in.

: Try again. Use the method "properly". You will see that it works. That is why I gave explicit instructions for every action. I forgive you for trolling.
It has been a long time of abjection and not one person has been able to give a clear answer on how to fix it, evidently.

In any other thread I might welcome a joke and laugh uproariously. This is a help thread, FunnyFurret. It is designed to help people with solving this incessant woe in the forums.

Now it is different. This is the real deal. Please try it for yourself.

 Make it more like this.

I was confident that I could do that. Do you see a discrepancy in what I described myself doing in the thread post and what you did?

There again, you did not display an equivalent example. The equal terminology in that Twitter site you use would be " #GrandsCanyon2 " .  Is a Tweet to be interpreted somehow as formal English to be handed in to your university professor as part of an essay? Why would spelling matter when all other rules of formal English are ignored by the bird brains you are referencing? Why does this spelling blip warrant mentioning when proper spacing and use of numerical symbols are not accounted for to begin with?

: When you compare two different things using a different length of measuring stick, of course you will find an obvious discrepency in the resulting recorded data. That is how you have set it up to be. Why state the pretense of being confounded when you set the parameters of the program?

You should not refer to "you're" as one word. That is what causes people the confusion when they try to use the contraction as such without thinking of it as two words. It may come as a shock to you that you are one of the many young minds that are part of the problem you seek to critique. Change your perception and enlighten others of what I have taught you. Then you will be part of the change in how people tend to think in these terms.

It is a curiosity to examine the origins of things with a dialogue of how they came to be. If I could stamp out these misconceptions, false histories and errors before they start snowballing in people's minds, I always tell myself that I would do just that. This influence would be a preferable option above letting the errors ride the current course so I and others could have the fine experience of telling people they are wrong without telling them how to fix it.

You have displayed here a tendency to opt for the second train of thought. What does it matter whether or not you are seen as smarter than these people who mindlessly repeat modelled behaviors without thinking them through? Wouldn't exposing the root of where they went wrong clear up the confusion faster than uncorking a dated bottle of "vitriol" sauvignon to pour all over their website usage?

It may be that you are criticizing those users too harshly considering what they do not understand and what you have not demonstrated understanding of are one and the same.

: Are you quite sure a spelling error can fairly be attributed to the practice of combining two words with simply no space between them and flanking them with a numeral and pound sign? Why or why not? Less vitally, can we be sure that the "s" in the centre is intended with an apostrophe or could it perhaps be abbreviating some other notation that the most avid program watchers would be aware of?

Is this really much different than a fellow such as myself signing off with a number and letter combination like P3 !!! ?

You may have stubbed your toe on the root of the misunderstanding you were referring to Razor and just as promptly walked right over it without really seeing it.

Most contractions are not in reality intended to be interpreted as one word. As for the one contraction in semi-formal [with contractions] English that is really just one word, I cannot say enough wonderful things about it so I will therefore decline the mentioning of it.

"You're" is two words and not one because the contraction does still represent the two words. Calling it a "contraction word" would be incorrect. Contractions can be one word or more but the numerical quantity of words did not change just because you compacted them for the purpose of eliding ease in print or speech.

If more people knew what I have just explained to you, the contraction rule would cause less confusion. Ironically, contractions were first conceived to simplify the language and have merely resulted in an extra set of rules needing to be understood.

Oh. Let us not forget. That is a very interesting observation z-man. Thank you for pointing it out.

 P3 signs off emphatically!!

I am tired of reading through complaints about failed summons in this Help Forum. So now I am going to offer helpful advice.

I have recently found that while attempting a summon may be as failure ridden as ever - mostly because of how poorly understood the process happens to be - there is a reliable method to make it happen when it has not happened.

Every single summon I tried this month failed so I set about to examine methods of making it happen. These are derived from tricks I picked up over the years of making the occasional post , putting a great deal of thought into those posts , wanting them to be perfect and represent my user name well since I have not historically done them very often.

 Ahem. Here it is.

Preparation: Make sure to open the thread you are replying to in a separate tab if you are doing a reply summon to someone or multiple users who already posted. This is so you will have ready access to their user name(s) in formatted thread display. If you are summoning people who are not posters on the specific thread yet, find their user names on the member list and use the search box to locate their profile.

Prior to submitting your post with an attempted summon or submitting an edit for an existing post for which you wish to add a summon, prepare the intended line for the name with the usual space before the colon mark. It also might be prudent to leave at least a few spaces between the colon mark and all other type plus a few safety spaces immediately preceding your target for a copy and paste of the intended user name.

Next, using the other thread tab or whatever source you can readily derive a direct copy of the target user name, highlight that name with your cursor and either right-click to select copy or simply combine Ctrl and then the letter "C" key. With me so far?

Great. Now you are ready. Ready for the aim, fire action. Like the commander of a firing line, you will not have enough time to pronounce the word "and" in between the two key commands.

Go back to your posting or editing tab and this up next is what will make everything work.

Tip # 1 : Make sure to set your typing cursor to exactly one space behind the colon mark you carefully arranged.
Tip # 2 : Hover your mouse cursor on the submit button. That way you can save valuable jiffies[ think centi-seconds ] of not having to move your mouse cursor from wherever you had left it otherwise.

Now the key active action. Here it is:  Ctrl + V followed immediately by submission of your post. Aim fire! That is all it really takes.

I have done this separately in different edits on the same posts to test many times. It works every time. Every additional user name to be summoned just takes another edit once the earlier ones are done.

The reason I am advising that people paste the summoned user name immediately before submitting is quite essential to the process of how these user created in site icons work.

The text you pasted of just their user name starts out as colourized version if it went in right. If you leave it in your edit box more time than it is intended to stay there, the user name will revert to plain text and results in a failed summon if you submit it as plain text. To safeguard against that and make sure it is colourized and perfect, use my [investigated and tested] method which is detailed above.

If the user name you pasted after copying from the source shows up in your editing or posting box as plain text, redo it. Then follow at once with a submission click to not give it that chance to revert to its plain text version.

If you accomplished a failed summon, do not make a lame edit to say it failed. Just do what I do and fix it. No excuses. You will now have all pertinent information on this meta-Vizzed subject at your fingertips by navigating to this thread.

: Please make this sticky as a top priority to make sure every person coming here to this forum with this problem has a mere chance to see this thread that actually helps them before they make yet another annoying, whiny complaint thread about it when you usually have more important other things to attend to here.

I would rather be an honest to the maker Pokémon trainer. A light saber would be a dangerous weapon that by its very nature would definitely take time, practice and careful instruction to learn how to use. Even then, a highly skilled person could still lop their own foot off with such a perilous hand held weapon.

Pokémon expertise is something I have already had years of fun training with under the assumption that all it would ever be was a super fun Nintendo game. If Pokémon came to life and we needed containment strategies to avoid being wiped off the face of the Earth by their sometimes vast level of power, being a Pokémon trainer responsible for making sure they used their powers as an influence of good in the world could be a role that I would eagerly slide into. I know more Pokémon than most. Certain more than a person who just caught on when Pokémon Go launched and they got it on their phone. My years of experience playing would translate much better with living Pokémon than any newbie who just plays Pokémon Go and never did anything else with Pokémon. They know next to nothing. Better me to handle that reality than people who get hit by vehicles while getting lost in their single minded pursuit.

zanthehero :    Yes. You could be a fictional character in these scenarios but why would you want to be anyone but yourself? Bond has to get called away frequently for his utility as being the " secret agent man " lead in his adventures. The space adventure has more in common with his portrayed life [ at least the space travel a la Moonraker but I did not mention anyone being shot with laser weapons ] than any time he gets to relax and have a prolonged stretch of fun. Even in Thunderball when he was supposed to take a vacation, there were still assassins looking for him. Then there's the propensity of beautiful women being killed because they interacted with the unequivocal spy. You do not want that happening around you , do you ? It would not take James Bond very long to stink up that idyllic existence.

Also, in a reality based scenario [ stuff that is not too far out there to actually happen to someone ] , try to choose a more realistic character to fit into it. My chosen character fit the realities you had me choose between to a tee. That's because those cartoon characters your question featured were of complete " science fiction " narratives .

darthyoda :   Be careful what you wish for alternate timeline Yoda. Going into the future may seem a sure thing yet if you happened to doom the people of the future to utter annihilation just by being at the exact wrong juncture in future to immediately affect pivotal events that will not happen for hundreds of years from this date before being zipped back to your proper place in history, then you would have to live for the rest of your life knowing that everyone who descends from all the people that you know and everyone today that you have not gotten to meet will someday be destroyed because of your time travel action and in so doing, eliminate our collective legacy and testament on planet Earth.

Any member below me, would you rather that Time Warner produced and released yet another Batman film or another Wonder Woman film? Please do elucidate on why you prefer better whichever one you happen to opt for.

P3 signing off. Thank you. Have a wonderful time.

The most recent film I watched in full was Wonder Woman. The racially accurate picture featuring Gal Gadot [ a gal born in a community just off the Mediterranean ] portraying the heroic lady of a similar regional origin was a film that floored me in theatres and yet again this week. That bit where they are casting the actors accurately to what the characters are supposed to look and sound like is something makers and shakers in the filmed medium have pervasively been abjectly failing at. Even Ms. Gadot's accent is perfect for the role. Finally !

Real talk : When WB tried to launch new television series of the same name, it seemed like the creators of that pilot episode had only seen a few clips of the nineteen seventies Wonder Woman television program. Forget about reading the Woman of Wonder's greatest stories ever told. The ignoramuses had to have thought their job was simple and they just had to make Diana a feminist parroting small-scale crime-fighting superheroine with no social life [to her despair] and a successful business honcho [maybe because in feminist dialogue, a woman who is not a CEO is apparently nobody of significance and it's that or nothing]. So it really is disappointing when new creators take over a franchise that they just plainly do not understand.

It is so sweet when you can tell film makers put an exceptional degree of thought into making something special for their audiences. The role of Diana of Themyscira is now everything you would expect with respect to her widely accepted comic book origin story. The audio-visual bar has been raised to unsurpassed levels in terms of Wonder Woman's character development. Now they have a real actress who brings far more than beauty, who trains like a pro for action scenes [obviously, not the seventies anymore] and has a feel for the character's origin.

There is one little, "dull impact" make out scene with Gadot that doesn't really fit with the rest of the story but no film maker, script writer or director is ever going to be perfect .  Besides, the actors sign up for huge sums of money knowing full well the fact that they will have to be a party to some form of that kind of exploitation upon themselves and their co-stars. Although back in the old movies starring the likes of guys like Elvis Presley, the men and women acting in them were properly and politely embarrassed by the inappropriate physical lewdness that was asked of them.

Time Warner really made Wonder Woman good this time and entrusted it to the hands of the right people. Hats off for the Wonder Woman feature film. Finally !

When my brother [who practiced feigning critical thinking skills to write "good" responses to pass his film analysis course at UVic - and he did pass] told me of his experience of watching Wonder Woman before I saw it in theatres, he focused on very insignificant negative items which did not affect plot, entertainment value, character or emotional impact. Yes, I am referring to the unrealistic special effects that he didn't particularly care for. In full reasoning that Wonder Woman could not possibly exist, why is it a problem that a film shows her making unrealistic fighting movements? Hello? Superheroine!

I make like Leonardo and catch both katanas behind my back before blitzing the refined metal weapons into a traditional kata exercise to keep my skills up where they belong ( expert level ) .  I can fight off scores of ninja with the weaponry you have just provided for my usage . I thank you , my kind , considerate ally .

I use my sweet new katanas to chop pizza slices riddled with anchovies , artichoke hearts , black olives, pineapple bits , extra mozzarella and marble cheddar cheese , 100 % turkey sausage (sliced) , ranch dip , double tomato sauce and tortilla chips crushed into tiny triangles . I garnish each slice with a fresh sliced tomato piece .  I use my neat new katanas to spear each slice and wing them one by one with ninja level swiftness at the user posting below my post .

 Bon appetit .  P3

I see then. The first two are always the top two. The rest are superfluous money makers with nothing added to arts and culture. Agreed.

Return of the Jedi was just a little bit worse than The Empire Strikes Back but slightly better than everything that followed.

Spider-Man III showed what a bunch fakers the creative minds and top talent running the franchise really were.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was directed by Alfonso Cuaron. The faulty production of the entire film was a mistake and the movie franchise became unravelled from then on to be unrecognizable from the literature. Hiring Alfonso Cuaron is always a mistake. His films can make money but only when the core material is a sure thing, like Potter. Being a creative risk-taker does not suit the career of a man of such low standards of ability.

Despicable Me 1 and 2 worked great. Minions spin off was fine. Then they make main film number 3 and it is old news a month into theatres. Maybe Minions 2 would have worked better for people but is anyone still interested now.

2 Fast 2 Furious from way back was the final one of them that was bearable to watch. Too far diverged from franchise launching story material and it gets stale even if the formula stays the same.

Toy Story 3 ? Well, did anyone go see that ? I would not guess so.

Transformers. How many times do movie audiences have to hear Shia scream "BUMBLEBEEEEE!!" before they realized how wholly unoriginal and stupid it is? I think I realized that in the second one it had reached its expiry date.

Shrek 2 was the upwards limit of how much the franchise material could be retrodden all over again.

You are right on target with this one Vanelan. All these characters and stories started out very fun to watch on the silver screen but it took a while for the nerds in charge to recognize the magic petering out when it was happening before their eyes.

P3    Bye bye Miss American Pie.
