What are secret bonuses and how do I get them?
These bonuses award you extra credits at the end of the race and you earn them by completing certain achievements.
Secret Bonus A (30000 credits) : Finish the last lap while a boost is active.
Secret Bonus C (70000 credits) : Do not collide with any cars during the entire race.
Secret Bonus D (40000 credits) : Do not collide with any obstacles.
Secret Bonus E (20000 credits) : Stay perfectly inside the road at all times.

What about secret bonus B?
It is technically possible to earn 50 thousand credits with this bonus, but no one knows how to consistently get it.
It must be either something very specific or completely random rare event. If you have solid information on this, please share with the world because the community had no luck with it since 1995.

1 player split screen mode? How is that different from the normal 1p mode?
This mode basically trades one of the racers for what is usually known in racing games as a champion or rival, adding him as a computer controlled player 2.
Besides obviously being able to see him within the split screen, he is different from the other racers because he can collide with obstacles, grab bonuses, needs fuel and constantly upgrades his car whenever you do. He also cannot be disqualified by ranking 11 or lower and will not use turbo boosts.
On simple tracks your rival will be by far the most skilled computer racer, but on planets with very low fuel or abundance of sharp corners, he may end up on the last position even on hard mode, as only the two of you are affected by these hazards.

Should I save money for expensive parts one at a time or aim for a well rounded car first?
There is no way to sell used parts, so every time you need to substitute a part it means you just lost a lot of money. Considering tiers 5 and 6 are not unlocked from the start, you cant simply run around with the first engine for 40 races, likewise you wont have enough money to buy every single upgrade one tier at a time, so you must decide on a middle ground. A really good idea is to jump straight to tier 4, then ignore the 5th and buy the last upgrade when it becomes available, but as long as you don't waste colossal amounts of money you should have a fully upgraded car near the end of the game. Keep in mind Easy and Normal modes wont have all parts available.

Should I upgrade my engine or gearbox first?
Both of them increase your acceleration and top speed, however engines are more focused on top speed while gearboxes give better acceleration. It really boils down to preference, or rather, how long you can keep driving at full speed without hitting anything.

I keep running out of fuel on [insert planet here], what should I do?
A number of things, depending on why you ran out of fuel in the first place :
-If the planet had VERY small fuel refill strips, then hit the brakes whenever reaching them. Keep track of how much fuel you used to complete a full lap (starting from the fuel strip) and make sure you refill enough for another lap. Some later planets may require you to stop completely on top of one or face a game over before you finish lap 2.
-If you kept smashing your car into things, buy better tires. Tires, not armor. Cheap armor upgrades give you almost no extra hits before your car gets ruined, so you will more than likely end up wasting your money.? By the way, not only high speed crashes damage your car much more, but boosts can also be used to quickstart a broken car and save precious time (assuming you have fuel left), so don't start blowing all your boosts before you know the whole track.

The starting engine's description says its "economical to run". Will my fuel problems get worse when I upgrade my engine?
Despite what some descriptions imply, no engine (or gearbox) consumes fuel faster or slower at top speed. So in other words, that "economical" engine has actually the worse fuel efficiency in the game. Usually the fastest you can move, the less fuel problems you should have. Just don't try driving past fuel strips at 600 km/h.
