Yeah in complete honesty it is *not* worth it right now. Consoles are rarely worth it during their initial launch windows (within ~1 to ~1 1/2 years of release).

Once it gets a better lineup--Persona 4 Golden, Phantasy Star Online 2, etc--and with some more bundles and price drops, it will certainly be worth it. But right now, it's absolutely not worth most peoples' money. I still thoroughly enjoy it, but it is far too expensive for the masses and the storage card prices are insane.

Also, I'm not going to really entertain the idea that PlayStation Vita copied Wii U because 1) it's a handheld, Wii U isn't and 2) Wii U came out way after. So that's absolutely preposterous.

Seishiro Leonhart : Granted, but then there's too much to do and you get overwhelmed.
I wish I didn't have such a huge backlog of games I don't ever intend on finishing :

  • Tron & Tron: Legacy
  • ParaNorman
  • Cry_Wolf
  • District 9
Those are the ones I can watch over and over and still enjoy. Usually with films I watch them 1-2 times and can't stomach watching them again, no matter how good they are.

I ended up buying one on release day, and it's pretty fun. There's an immense lack of compelling titles right now but that happens during the launch window of new systems. The future looks great though, especially if you're a fan of RPGs. Ragnarok Odyssey and Persona 4 Golden will be here in October and November respectively, and the latter is something I've been looking forward to since it was announced a while ago. It's certainly not worth choosing over the 3DS if you can only afford one or the other right now, but it's got a lot of potential.
I can't wait until Sega puts PSO2 on it! I hope it arrives in the US alongside the PC version so I can play with friends!

liveinvainne : Sorry for the extremely late reply, but yes. Currently, Phantasy Star Online 2 is only in Japanese. However, Sega is going to release it in the United States on PC, Vita, iOS & Android (mobile versions with single-player content) in 2013. It'll also be free and if you play PSO2 on Vita, the data is the same as PC so it's cross-compatible, meaning you can play as the same character and play with the same people between both platforms! It's really cool. I played the JP version for a brief period but now I'm just gonna wait for the English version.

Granted, but you can only export the videos into BetaMax format.
Speaking of formats, I wish the Vizzed RGR plugin was in .DMG format so people with OS X could run it!

I think it's nice that Nintendo is making this a second "flavor" instead of a redesign that would replace the original 3DS. If you're looking for a big screen and don't own a 3DS already, then this would be a good option. It's not going to actually replace the vanilla 3DS, so that's a good thing. It just provides another option for consumers to choose from when purchasing a 3DS!

Phantasy Star Online 2. You can use bumped.org to learn how to navigate through all the Japanese. The game has a very large English-speaking player base on ship 2. It's a free game, and it only needs 2GB RAM to run it. There's also graphics settings that are very friendly with older computers.

There's absolutely no contest; this show is the best series currently airing on television. There are many great shows, but this is definitely the greatest one. It's powerful, the direction is outstanding, the writers do not pull any punches whatsoever, and if someone dies, the writers kill them in the most brutal fashion. It's dark and realistic, and there's virtually no "melodramatic gloss" on it.
Sorry, I just really love this show. It will always have a place in my heart. Anybody watching the first part of the final season in 2 weeks?

I wish my sleep schedule wasn't so horrendous.

I love homework most of the time, if it's not just mindless busy work. If it's something I can do to legitimately learn new things, then I'll enjoy it. Davideo7 :

>implying I said this layout was the same for seven years

Except not really. I said that we had more layout options 7 years ago. The default layout has always been a variation of Daily Cycle.

And I know it's not a "business" website, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be professional. A website can be fun while also being clean and professional...

It's fine. I shouldn't have brought it up again. I know I brought it up before because it's a good idea

Professional web designers will stumble upon this site someday and cringe. It's not because the layout is bad, mind you. Everyone in the designing world knows that less = more. If you make a layout too busy then it won't look as nice.

Do you want to know why I brought this up so many times? It's because I wanted you to do it. I've said it many times over the course of a couple years. A website not being 'corporate' or 'business' is absolutely no excuse to have a layout that isn't streamlined.

It's fine. I wish you the best... I'll probably be around again sometime. Gaming websites all over the internet have clean layouts. There's no reasoning to shoot down a 'corporate' look, as you put it.

Bye. Now I know why I left the last few times :

I prefer to write in pen. One of the main reasons is that it looks nicer, but I also don't miss sharpening pencils.

If you want a really challenging RPG, get Wizardry. It'll kick your ass. I love it. It's $14.99 on the PSN shop.

tRIUNE : You're definitely right. I don't personally have a problem with the current one. Back in like 2005 there were 10-15 different layouts if I believe, and everyone's preferences were mostly fulfilled in the design department.

I dunno, I just like simpler layouts better :p but the Daily Cycle is still really nice.

The different options for board layouts is a feature I would love to see return gradually. A third layout would be lovely in my opinion. Hope David considers it!

Some people like glossy and shiny, while others like clean-cut/professional/'quiet' and simple schemes.

Absolutely! The current layout is pretty!

It'd be awesome to have a minimal alternative with a clean/smooth setup. Maybe the minimal version could have a minimal Vizzed logo as well? I mean, since it'd be an optional layout and Daily Cycle would be default 100% of the time, it wouldn't hurt to have a different logo for the alternate layout.

I did a really fast mock-up of what I mean by a 'minimal' logo below:

I really like this site. I really do. But there's something that's been bothering me for a while: the layout. It's not ugly, but it's just too busy for my tastes. There's too much going on. There's gloss everywhere. My computer actually lags while rendering pages on this board.

What I was wondering is if it'd be possible to offer a third layout choice? Currently there's 'daily cycle' and 'Christmas'. It by no means will be a default board layout. It will be completely optional and Daily Cycle will remain the default. I was just wondering if sometime someone could develop a smooth/simple layout scheme that's not graphic-intensive or glossy? Maybe something with a very simple pastel blue, white and gray color scheme? Something minimal and clean would be fantastic as a third layout option in the drop-down menu.

That's really the only thing I dislike about this website. In the nearly 7 years I've been here on-and-off, the layout has been the primary reason for me not returning. I like the community and I feel comfortable here, but the layout hurts to look at because it takes a long time to render, even on my high speed connection.

Just a humble suggestion. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

I was extremely skeptical when this first came out. I thought that it was kind of dumb, but then I tried it. There's automatic updating, free games/movie rentals, huge discounts and access to games before anyone else.

The fact that I paid $18 for three months and got $35 worth of free games in the first week, it's so worth it. It pays for itself.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
