Pikachu didnt want to elvolve because it wanted to beat st. Surge in the form it was in and bring respect to the pikachus and ash.(Ash gave it the choice to elvolve or to stay like that and pikachu hit the stone out of ashes hand with its tail)

The Hardest catch ever for me was zapdos... 0_o
Not that it is especially HARD to catch its just that every time i attacked it the health would go all the way donw anfd i waould have to reset and try again. Then the one time i got lucky and it ended up with 1hp (im geussesing it was really low) i tryed to catch it with like 35 ultraballs and none worked and i didnt have any pokemon that could make status affections. But after that and i restarted i got him like halfway donw and said to myself "self if i sont catch it this one pokeball then oh well (because i already had one on my pokemon staduim) and i threw an ultraball with him at half health and causst him! i was like wow. The pokemon must not have a real rate of catching.

I think that pokemon Crystal was the funnest game i ever played. I dont know really what made it so fun, maybe just the concept of it being an advanced version of the pokemon silver and pokemon gold, which were already awesome games.
