El Psy Congroo! ^_ ^ Oh man, I'm a big fan of Steins;Gate myself. It is definitely one of the best animes I've ever seen, thus far. I can't wait to see how the story plays out in the beta world line, as well. I hope that the ones behind the project can make justice to the first season (that is IF a new director, writer or producers will be taking it upon themselves to do such delicate task. xP). Regardless, I'll look forward to this one. Brain-Splattered : I couldn't had said it any better, my friend. After all, wasn't it thanks to games like Super Mario Bros and the home console NES, that made it possible for the crashed American video game market of the 1980s to be resurrected?.Thanks to the successful manufacturer Nintendo, the worldwide video game industry excluding Japan was revitalized and introduced a brand new business model of licensing third-party developers like Capcom and Konami and authorizing them to produce and distribute titles for Nintendo. They are widely considered as the most influential video game company in the industry as a whole and therefore they cannot be lightly dismissed. Their immense contributions for the sake of bringing further joy and entertainment for future generations is one of the greatest images ever conceived. Just the mere sight of Nintendo's staff manifesting more dynamic approaches in the form of revolutionary video games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 is simply outstanding. I hope they never go bankrupt and that they continue doing what they do. Well, I admit that Nintendo can make a lot of people angry but still...Where would we be without them? ![]() After all, wasn't it thanks to games like Super Mario Bros and the home console NES, that made it possible for the crashed American video game market of the 1980s to be resurrected?.Thanks to the successful manufacturer Nintendo, the worldwide video game industry excluding Japan was revitalized and introduced a brand new business model of licensing third-party developers like Capcom and Konami and authorizing them to produce and distribute titles for Nintendo. relinquish022 : Btw,I must apologize to you man I did some paragraph grouping to my reply in your last thread. That way,it should be easier for you to read it.I wasn't considerate enough.Shame on me.From now on,I'll always do more extra work for my readers Plus,I should stop being so stubborn and use sentence spacing.Like this: Hello, how are you? and not this:Hello, how are you? Do you see the difference? Although, I know there are some people who claimed there is no point in using one, two or three spaces after comas or full stops lol That's why I've never used spaces too often. However, I must do it when I write essays and other school stuff. Hi guys! I've learned that at an event mid-November last year with the purpose of celebrating the opening day of the first movie: "Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow" in Japan, the director Tetsuro Araki announced that AoT will get a second season in 2016, but a release date was not given. Some speculate, that it will run from April to September 2016. In October, it was confirmed that the production of the second season of AoT had started. Previously, reports cited that the Season 2 premiere will air on July 26 but Wit Studios set the record straight and said the release is on hold to allow the completion of Volume 14 and Volume 15 of the AoT manga series 0.0. Furthermore, there is the second anime compilation film which will be released on June 27, 2015 in Japan. What do you guys think? What are your expectations for the second season? Do you want to see it as soon as possible? Do you knew that fans can get two original animation DVDs of the prequel anime called "Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Birth of Levi" that will be bundled with the 15th and 16th volumes of the main manga? (the first was released on Dec. 9, 2014 and the next will be released April 9, 2015) Does it matter if the second season is going to be bad? Are we going to be satisfied? Is the story going to improve tremendously? Aren't you happy that we are getting another movie? Show me how important these news are for you guys! ![]() I've learned that at an event mid-November last year with the purpose of celebrating the opening day of the first movie: "Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow" in Japan, the director Tetsuro Araki announced that AoT will get a second season in 2016, but a release date was not given. Hi guys, how is it going?. I'm sorry (as always) if there is already a thread like this one but since I did a thread asking about SAO then I figured: Why not? Let's ask about Attack on Titan! (btw you can find it easily on this section the thread title is: Is Sword Art Online a good anime to watch? I've got my answer but the thread is still open soooo...if you want to, you can go and reply to my thread ) Now, go ahead and tell me everything about AoT from your point of view. You may write spoilers (I still haven't watched AoT ) and discuss the good things and the bad things about it. Make sure you check my next thread! (it was a pleasant surprise I must say, hehe! ) the thread title is: Is Sword Art Online a good anime to watch? MoblinGardens : I want to ask you a question:When you said"the definition of mainstream - the ideas, attitudes,or activities that are regarded as normal or conventional;the dominant trend in opinion, fashion, or the arts"you meant to say that mainstream equals popularity, right? (sorry if I stated the obvious but I just had to ask lol) (sorry if I stated the obvious but I just had to ask lol)-------------------- |

I am not an anime fan like you man BUT I've read a lot about anime history lol (Ufff, your post sure was long ) but still, my answer is: I won't mind it IF it became mainstream in the west. Why? Well, sure it has been more popular than it ever has been, and there are some pretty big genre directors whose movies have clear anime influences (a good example in this case would be the strong influence from Mamory Oshii's Ghost in the Shell to the Wachowskis Brothers The Matrix. Mitsuhisa Ishikawa of Production I.G stated that since Ghost in the Shell had gained recognition in America, the Wachowskis used it as a ''promotional tool'') but aside from the occasional global phenomenon (I'm gonna mention Pokémon here, since that is the anime I'm most familiar with ) it's still very much a niche fan base, within an already niche part of nerd culture (like you said)However, thanks to the work of Studio Ghibli, (Spirited Away, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke etc) anime has indeed earned a lot of respect in the west. I wouldn't called it ''popularity'', but more like something along the lines of acknowledgement and general acceptance. Films like Akira, (btw I still haven't watched that movie BUT I will someday soon) and the work of Hayao Miyazaki, have had an enormous affect on how the western mainstream views anime.Akira and Miyazaki films prove that there's more to anime than just fan service, moe and shows based around cool card games aimed at seven-year-olds (I'm looking at you Yu-Gi-Oh! ) Miyazaki (from what I've heard) proved that anime is an art form, and a ''home'' for mature, thoughtful storytelling: as Akira did before Miyazaki.Anime studios seem to have shifted their focus as to how they should be making shows and Studio Ghibli is going through some tough times at the moment (Miyazaki is officially retired) but I can tell you anime is not about to become mainstream through film. You mentioned Attack on Titan, didn't you? Well, I agree with you about that anime not being enough to change mass opinion alone. That show has caught on immensely with western audiences and has definitely been providing anime with more respect and popularity than any other non-Ghibli production. I think more mature, dark, and (why not?) edgy shows like AoT have a good shot at making anime mainstream in the west, whether otakus like it or not. Anime is not likely to earn any new fans through new films. I also agree with you on anime having proved time and again that it can tell a mature story as well as having some of the most mature animation out there. Berserk and Evangelion could get rid of the idea of anime being childish. The Kara no Kyoukai movies would be perfect as well since (from what I've seen) they are really bloody and smart. Hmm...Actually, if a series on the level of Kara no Kyoukai would be taken seriously then, just maybe the image of anime would change. However, since adults are less likely to adopt at new things I doubt anime will be taken seriously by anyone over 20 anytime soon. There is a problem: Disney is the one defining the standard for animation in the west. As you know, for most westerners an animated movie is characterized as being targeted specifically to the 'the family segment'' with a simple unoffensive plot and clear distinctions between good and evil. Another issue is that when people watch an anime for the first time, is the quality of the animation. Once again, Disney has had a severe impact on the way people see things in the west. Disney is far superior on the technical level. Do you remember you replied to my thread about SAO being a good anime to watch or not? Well, I'm going to use SAO in order to prove you that Disney is way better than some of the best animation Japan has to offer today: Apparently, an episode of SAO has a budget of less than $300.000 and Disney spent a cool $260.000.000 on Tangled 0.0. No wonder there is a slight difference. Disney is the Microsoft of animation and their influence on the market is impossible to ignore. Like I said, unless there is more animes like AoT then I doubt anime will become mainstream in the west. ![]() ) but still, my answer is: I won't mind it IF it became mainstream in the west. Why? xxdougiexxfreshx : Oh yeah! Neon Genesis Evangelion, baby! lol Kidding aside,I've considered myself a mecha fan since I started watching the Gundam metaseries and Macross aka Robotech franchise.I heard that Evangelion is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed anime television series of the 1990s.It was THE anime that serve the purpose of reviving the anime industry both artistically and technically after the economy crisis in Japan during the 80s and towards the beginning of the 90s,which greatly affected the performance of many anime companies and their respective business models.Of course, midway through production, the creator Hideaki Anno made it into a heavy critique of the culture and a deconstruction of the mecha genre(it was different from the Real robot mecha subgenre, animes like Gundam and Macross are good examples in this case )since it was influenced by it.I will watch the anime TV series plus the anime films before this year is over, that's for sure![]() Kidding aside,I've considered myself a mecha fan since I started watching the Gundam metaseries and Macross aka Robotech franchise.I heard that Evangelion is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed anime television series of the 1990s.It was THE anime that serve the purpose of reviving the anime industry both artistically and technically after the economy crisis in Japan during the 80s and towards the beginning of the 90s,which greatly affected the performance of many anime companies and their respective business models.Of course, midway through production, the creator Hideaki Anno made it into a heavy critique of the culture and a deconstruction of the mecha genre(it was different from the Real robot mecha subgenre, animes like Gundam and Macross are good examples in this case )since it was influenced by it.I will watch the anime TV series plus the anime films before this year is over, that's for sure![]() -------------------- |

Yes,I go to the gym 2-3 times every week and I love it sooo much so I end up training at home which is just as effective for me.I played sports too like football and basketball.I did ice skating and ski a couple of times before here in Sweden.I used to run long distances as part of my last training program but I eventually quit.I took judo, boxing and kickboxing classes a long time ago,as well.Hmmm yeah....I think that's about it.You could say that I got a lot of experience and knowledge about different things when it comes to health and fitness.Sure,I've gotten lazy now but that doesn't mean that I can't start doing sports, combat sports or martial arts once again.I'm still young, after all![]() so I end up training at home which is just as effective for me.I played sports too like football and basketball.I did ice skating and ski a couple of times before here in Sweden.I used to run long distances as part of my last training program but I eventually quit.I took judo, boxing and kickboxing classes a long time ago,as well.Hmmm yeah....I think that's about it.You could say that I got a lot of experience and knowledge about different things when it comes to health and fitness.Sure,I've gotten lazy now but that doesn't mean that I can't start doing sports, combat sports or martial arts once again.I'm still young, after all![]() -------------------- |

I think Jim Carrey is the funniest actor but I am not 100% sure. There are other great actors on my personal list of the funniest actors of all time like Eddy Murphy,Jim Carrey,Will Smith,Rowan Atkinson and to some extent:Robin Williams I will always keep that man in my thoughts and in my heart. He was THE actor of my childhood because of Hook,Flubber,What Dreams May Come and Bicentennial Man.He may not had been the funniest actor ever known to mankind but still...he deserves to be mentioned, nonetheless Rest in peace,my idol. Someone already said it for me,haha! xP.The answer is School Days, without a doubt(:I mean....Nah,never mind.I think the best thing for those of you who don't know anything about the anime or the VN is to just go and check it out via Wikipedia and then and ONLY then you WILL understand why this is my least favorite anime ...Actually,School Days is probably the WORST anime I've seen in my life![]() ...Actually,School Days is probably the WORST anime I've seen in my life![]() -------------------- |

Sorry (in case there is already a thread like this one xP) but I had been wondering recently about this: I love the Walking Dead TV series with a passion (probably on the same level as Doctor Who) AND I like watching anime soooooo...How about starting watching zombie animes? -------------------- |

Best game anime? Hmmm....Well, I'll go ahead and narrow down the ones off the top of my head: Pokémon, Steins;Gate and Tales of Symphonia:The Animation. I haven't played Steins;Gate (visual novel) but I've played many Pokémon games before and I will play Tales of Symphonia, sometime in the future. I was gonna say Steins:Gate. However, thinking about how the anime executed its story elements, I must say that there are some things that needed more influence from the cultural genre "fantasy". I mean, Pokémon and Tales of Symphonia could offer with much more consistency and gratification the overused anime plot formula "Let's go on a journey, overcome many hardships, make friends and allies and save the day" which has been appealing to me. You couldn't notice what was the elemental drive of the story (for a while, at least) since Steins;Gate invested a lot of time in the introduction of characters, John Titor, the Phone Microwave and stuff. On the other hand, the premises of Pokémon and ToS were stereotypical, plain and simple. xP Both stories could be explained with magic and science unlike Steins;Gate. They were predictable BUT creative, nonetheless. So yeaaaah...As you can see it's impossible for me to choose between all of them. They are all great ![]() I haven't played Steins;Gate (visual novel) but I've played many Pokémon games before and I will play Tales of Symphonia, sometime in the future. I was gonna say Steins:Gate. I apologize in advance(once again)if there is already a thread similar to this one BUT I'm curious about this.I would like know which are the best anime series of all time according to you guys and your reasons for those animes to be regarded as masterpieces in the industry. In my case,I think Steins;Gate is one of the best animes for various reasons:The outstanding character development, solid scientific theories about time travelling and its subsequent effect, the drama, the action, the romance..Uff,I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about that anime .Now,with that said,go ahead and tell me which do you think are the best animes ever and why. .Now,with that said,go ahead and tell me which do you think are the best animes ever and why.-------------------- |

After all, wasn't it thanks to games like Super Mario Bros and the home console NES, that made it possible for the crashed American video game market of the 1980s to be resurrected?.

The list goes on.
I did some paragraph grouping to my reply in your last thread. That way,it should be easier for you to read it.I wasn't considerate enough.Shame on me.From now on,I'll always do more extra work for my readers
Plus,I should stop being so stubborn and use sentence spacing.Like this: Hello, how are you? and not this:Hello, how are you? Do you see the difference? Although, I know there are some people who claimed there is no point in using one, two or three spaces after comas or full stops lol That's why I've never used spaces too often. However, I must do it when I write essays and other school stuff.
) and discuss the good things and the bad things about it. Make sure you check my next thread! (it was a pleasant surprise I must say, hehe!
) but still, my answer is:

I will always keep that man in my thoughts and in my heart. He was THE actor of my childhood because of Hook,Flubber,What Dreams May Come and Bicentennial Man.He may not had been the funniest actor ever known to mankind but still...he deserves to be mentioned, nonetheless
