Hey hey hey! Guess who's not dead! I'm here for a snappy, sassy, and potentially juvenile review! It's time for Catz, with a "z." Because that's kewl. Alright! Lets start this stuff off. I actually owned (and still own) this game as a kid. I also owned Horsez (why not "Horzez" that would be twice teh kewls) which was the glitchiest game and also dumb, hard and kind of boring. But unlike Horsez, Catz is thankfully much more enjoyable. Alright, with drill No.1: the graphics! The graphics are very easy on the eyes and give this game a colorful boost. It's fairly cute and cuddly, but sometimes the art style shifts slightly at certain points, the greatest contrast being the cartoony human portraits and the realistic cat ones. But the difference isn't that jarring, and it's all really nice to look at. This game never really looks bad. I give the graphics a solid 8. And now for the grace of thine ears, the sound rating. The game starts off with a song mostly consisting of cat noises. Well, if you didn't know this was a cat game, now you do. The song's fairly okay, but while to say most of the soundtrack is not exactly outstanding, you hardly ever get annoyed by it. It doesn't hinder the game at all, but it doesn't help much either. The meowing noises and use of sound is pretty good, and the meow noise (or miaou or nya or whatever you prefer) sounds just like a cat would. The sound get a 7, lowered by standard music but heightened by the sheer quality of the noises used. I actually want an electrohouse or happy speedcore remix of the opening theme, though. You know, for meows. Addictiveness is a rather floaty subject for this game. If your into sim games (like me,) you will probably like playing this game. If you like multiple endings (like me,) this game is for you. If you dislike either, or are allergic to cute, well, uh... good luck? I enjoy it in a sort of guilty pleasure way, trying to find as many breeds of cats to raise and getting endings. But the only endings I get when playing normally are either one where it never gets sick or the one where it's more of a friendly stray. Right now I'm playing hoping to get some sort of cat gang leader ending by maxing out Mood and Punch. Yes, cats have "punch." It might be a little boring to some, but there's something just a little charming about taking care of a kitten, or just watching it run all over and take a pee on everything. From the perspective of moi, the addictiveness is a 7 (7.5 if I could) Now, what is the context that you are taking care of a cat under? Let's delve into the story! So you, the player of a limited six character name, are walking through the park after stepping on your friend's, who you later learn is Komugi, cat. Meandering through and fretting over your mistake, you bump into a girl and her cat. After chatting awhile and learning you can't hold cats right, she suggests you get one to help with your understanding of animals. You ask your mom and dad, who surprisingly agree to getting a cat rather quickly and then, well, you get a cat with a similarly restricted name option. It's not much of a story, but there is a bit of appeal to how the story can change depending on how you play. For instance, the park girl will eventually meet up with you to check up on your cat's condition. If you mistreat it, she will take it away. You also have to balance school with cat time. If you go to bed early, you will wake up early. If you're late to school, you come home late. This is a nice touch that makes the clock in the top left corner not only a way of tracking how long it takes for you or your cat to do things, but as to manage when to Hey, see that massive paragraph above? That's the depth of the story. I'll add a bit more, though. You get to choose from a variety of rather cute cats, the different breeds being added upon each time you replay the game. There are the aforementioned endings, which adds more replayability. There are gifts you can get from cats, a different one for each playthrough. This game is surprisingly deep for a cat sim! Depth gets a 10 in my book. Ah, now as we near the finale, the difficulty is the final hurdle to a final rating. Now, most of this game is pure management. You have to manage your cat, its hunger and environment, its stats, the time, the money you get, so many things. For most standard mortals, that shouldn't be too hard, but I'm a scatterbrain. You can also easily screw up in this game, but thankfully you have the option to save in between days, and days go by quite fast. There's also no real guide, so you have to figure out most of it yourself. While it's not hard to play, it can be tricky to get what you want. This snags the game a difficulty of 6(.5), nothing too hard, but you do have to work for your happy (or sad) ending. My final rating, with calculations of my preferred score of each category, is a 7.8, meaning it barely touches the higher ratings. While it's child centric gameplay and story makes the game lag a bit, it's the replayability and cutesy allure that helps it stay afloat. It's a kid friendly cat version of Hatoful Boyfriend. I think. Despite the kiddy aura this game emanates it still can bring fun to the common person. Or maybe I'm just a loser. Hey hey hey! Guess who's not dead! Well! Here's for another review, and a platforming game I've actually beaten! That's rather rare. This game, the first in the two-part Chronicles of Sorrow, is a standout piece in the Metroidvania genre. It also has my favorite protagonist in the series ever and they really need to bring Soma back and oh my god, but I will refrain from gushing over how awesome he is to keep this review clean. Sorta refrain. Yeah. So, first things first, graphics! Graphics shmaphics. I don't care much for graphics, but I cannot deny they can help or hinder a game. I'm a person of style over realistic-ness, but this game blends both together in a mirage of well-put-together stages, excellent character designs, and fun stuff to look at. My only miff is that some of the enemies are just recolors of other enemies, just harder to kill. This is rather evident when you run into a Siren. The Sirens look like Harpies. Which is what they are a recolor of. Yup. My rating for graphics is a 9. Now, the music. This got some gooooood musics. Oh and the sound does its job just fine, but musics!?This stuff is pretty good. Not the best per se, but I like the composition, the remixes, and the boss themes alike. They do their job well. My rating for the sound in this game is a 8. And now, how much fun is the game? Do you take pleasure in beating up mundane monsters, yelling at the screen while your friends sit next to you also yelling at the screen, and finding secrets, and beating things up, and finding secrets, and finding better ways to do things a la beating Skeldrich with the bow and arrows as opposed to using the sand wand? Well, this is a good game for you. It does have those moments where you want to chuck the keyboard/Game Boy Advance/controller at the window (lookin' at you, room full of ghost dancers,) but the overall fun-ness of the game is the much fun. Also, stealing abilities is so much fun.Just make sure to pick up a Zombie soul on the way to the Headhunter. Fun-ness is a 8. Story! I got this game without that pamphlet that tells you you're you-know-what-if-you-beat-the-game, so when I got to that point I was all like whaaaaaaaat. Also, Soma acts like any teenager who suddenly got powers in an abandoned hellhole would. With utter confusion and hacking. And protecting your not-girlfriend is a must. Also, Arikado! Worst disguise, man. Pronouncing your name funny does not count. Relatively good-ish story, has room for work. I give the story a 7. Aaaaaand the depth. Two words, SECRETS ERRYWHERE. I give the depth a 10. Finally, the difficulty. Really ridiculously hard three fourths of the time, somewhat not hard the last one fourth. goshdarn ghost dancers (excuse my language.) I give the difficulty a 9. My final score is, with the power of maths, 8.5. Wow, the calculator actually put it out rather cleanly! I have heard much about Moemon, and look what I find! It's a pretty good hack, even if the only thing that was really modified was the sprites. It also reaches the same level of hilarity when it comes to the genders as Touhoumon (Male women? What?) The sprites are very?well done. I'm not disappointed. But otherwise the game is exactly like Emerald, and will rate it as how I viewed Emerald. The hack is a very visual, so if you don't care for stampeding everything in your path with a team of little girls, then go play Emerald. EDIT: Okay, forget what I said about "no change in game whatsoever." There is a FREAKING TELEPORT HUB hidden in Littleroot. Also, some of the terrain is changed up a bit, i.e. giant puddles & flowers. But otherwise, it is practically the same game. I have heard much about Moemon, and look what I find! @MagmaCube yes I will use GameMaker Also here is currnet game data. Might contain story-ish spoilers, but, hey, I'm working on it so its all due to change. (hijabi chick development) -tunic, hijab w/ hair poking out, aladdin pants, moon/star crest -observant but not really -one track mind -clumsy REALLY REALLY CLUMSY -doesn't like soccer but plays it anyways that's why she has strong legs I guess -low stamina, high durability -a sort of tracking device she has -her dad's an engineer and stuff -"thick" -mother died due to a thing -preferable heroine (impish chick development) -has upside-down hearts as her motif, stripes, hair tied at the front, waist bag pockets, a gun, lolly -kind of pissy -short, wiry body -incredibly agile, but can't take hits -calculating, only cares for herself -can't understand other people's motives -she's an orphan -can double jump even though that's physically impossible -actually a monster *spoiler lol (setting) -alternate dimension thingy -it eats people in a way -anyone who dies here becomes a monster themselves -the sorta big bad controls these monsters -there are, however, friendly/non malevolent creatures living in the dimension -the place looks like an old temple/decaying forest -I SEE DEAD PEOPLE **DEVELOPING GOES UNDER HERE** Kamari (moon variation, arabic) Monsutako (monster child shortened, japanese) False end (when you have the protag act out of character) True end (when you have the protag act within character) Empty end (half and half, stuck in the limbo of character) Shopkeeper (will exchange goods for the (crystals?) you find) Save point (required [duh]) Exposition Fairy (also required for no other reason than because) Reason for being (Kamari is an exchange student while Monsutako is a local) Plot device (GET OUT OF HERE) Big bad..? Daaaaang. A friend of mine and I were planning a Pokemon hack, but we really don't have the time and the equipment to do it. I don't think we'd ever get a thing like that done, though. And we're working on a much bigger project at the same time. This is the perfect chance to make the hack, but I'm swamped in homework. Aggghghghgh Daaaaang. sonicmcmuffin: Oh okayyyy I'll be sure to follow the following things you just said. I'm pretty sure I can be up to the challenge of writing a decent comic. As for the whole complaining thing, I'll just say "hey if you guys keep whining I'm gonna hafta take this down so be nice okay" or something. I also do have a deviantart account. It's EmptyPathOfTheSun and I guess maybe I should stick to doing my thing :T Also I'm gonna change that to "random pony art" so that it's on topic. Also here's a demonstration of how I do some of my art sort of. I do different styles but this is one I like doing for artworks. Also this is some pony I designed one day. IDK what the name will be but I guess this is sort of a dark interpretation of me? ??? Anyway thanks for the notice. I'll try putting up the first comic tomorrow/day after. Touhoumon World Link and Touhoumon Another World. Preferably Another World because it's built from the ground up and is quite the adventure. It's a Pokémon hack with dolls/puppets instead of animals. I also like playing Earthbound and Mother 3 from time to time. Persona 2 isn't too great gameplay-wise but has a storyline you do NOT wanna miss out on. Every one except for the Persona one is on Vizzed. Now go out there and play some games bro. Image upload: 411x372 totaling 21 KB's. Touhoumon World Link and Touhoumon Another World. Yume Nikki, brah. It's like LSD Emulator's little sister. And this time it has symbolism. This game gave me more nightmares than them creepypasta pictures (whoever draws those is insane) It's still a very fun game with a sense of exploration, but why is the there bird people and blood and freaky cyclops thingies and a screaming thingy that gets upset if you decide to throw a rave party ER MAI GAWD Also the Persona series is kind of weird but not really. Persona 2 still has best characters though: Yep. Yume Nikki, brah. It's like LSD Emulator's little sister. And this time it has symbolism. Alright! You can use this thread forum thing to post whatever you want about PL vs PW. Want to rant about how this game isn't localized? Want to chat about how exciting this game will be? Want to post pictures of Luke and Maya? (You know you want to see pictures of Luke and Maya fighting over food) Want to randomly post references from both series? Want to just sit and read? Then this is the place for YOUUUUUuuuuuuuu okay I'm done. Just do whatever you want as long as it's on topic. Want to rant about how this game isn't localized? I think I would most typically be either Electric or Normal. I tend to focus on Speed, Attack and Sp. Attack above all, but I do like having one or two walls in my party. I guess Normal would give me more versatility and have a team consisting of all of the Normal types from my past teams. That's Togetic, Furret, Snorlax, Wigglytuff, Audino, and Unfezant. I never had many Electric types and one of the ones a had was Zapdos so yeah I think I'm sticking with Normal. I also like using Hyper Voice and Steel Wing/Tail so ehhhhhhhh. I harness the power of TMs! Go, use Hyper Beam! *bzzzzzszszszzs* I harness the power of TMs! Go, use Hyper Beam! *bzzzzzszszszzs* |

LOL it's probably Chrysalis because she needs back story, brah. I mean why did she want to totally anialate everyone "ever sind she was small?" What happened when she was small? And I'm waiting for the day that there's a rebellious changling that don't wanna hurt nobody. I'd probably want to see more Discord too as I wanna know of what use he would be of (chocolate rain cafe, maybe?) And (maybe) more of Sombra. Hey, actually all the villans need a sort of backstory episode. Ehhh, I'll just stick around and wait for part 5/4 of Turnabout Storm. Castform, brah. And don't point out it's chest thing I think of them as arms. Besides there's always his other forms. This guy is a great staple in my party. He's often my Ice-type, since I usually don't find many good ones. Weather Ball is also a really fun move cuz you can even use it during Sandstorm. I just really like this guy. I mean we all have our favorites, right? Right? Oh hey it has a butt oh never mind Just I like this guy regardless of anatomy. (Insert picture of Castform here cause I'm not allowed to out any up until I rank up or something) Oh hey it has a butt oh never mind Just I like this guy regardless of anatomy. FunnyFurret : There are actually an awful lot on Vizzed. Try typing "touhou" in the search and you'll get a hunk of results including several Touhoumon games. Each one is different, but the ones I play are Touhoumon Another World and Touhoumon World Link. The former is completely from scratch and while a bit buggy is a terrific game. The latter is a R/S/E hack that is just so much fun! Oh and if you run into that wild CKogasa (sort of replaces Zigzagoon in attacking Birch) in World Link I can tell you that it's ghost type for sure, so don't go trying no normal attacks on that thing. |

So this is going to be my super lame attempt at posting a decent thread lol Touhoumon is a modified Pokémon game where instead of little animals you have dolls and/or puppets. It's like a new Pokémon game; all one bijillion Touhou (also called Bonéka and Puppets) have specific types, some which have not been used yet (I.e. Flying/Ground) so it's like getting a new Pokemon game to memorize what all the freaking types are for the guys. There are the games where they take place in the pre-set maps of Kanto and Hoenn, so you know what to do but have an entirely new set of Pokemon, or the built-from-the-ground-up games which feels like a new adventure to enjoy with your team of six creatures. If you like Pokemon then these games will not dissapoint. The graphics for the new Touhou/Pokemon things are pretty well done and the satisfaction of crushing everyone you see with an army of little girls feels so good. The Touhou have a diverse typing right from the get-go so you can build a balanced team very early in the game. It feels different from Pokemon, but it's still the same game, just with little girls with gatling guns. Eirinn : Thanks for the tips! I already figured out some of the works just by poking around, but this helps me even more I guess I gotta start putting up random posts about stuff people would read There are some random obscure Pokémon hack games I can ramble on about (Touhoumon) in the forums and stuff, like how there's a hilariously glitchy beheaded shrine maiden that replaces the Poke ball things for a second. Pfft that's enough for some random dumb creepypasta lol. Anyway it's nice to meet you good sir/madam (lol I don't know your gender xD) and I hope I randomly run in to you in some random thread-post-thing someday.
