As I look around, I see a country firmly based in consumerism. I don't have a problem with that, what I do have a problem with is how game makers feel it necessary to make a so-so game that they can turn out quickly and earn a quick buck, instead of making a truely worthwhile game that will inspire future gamers, game makers, and future nerds of the world, they would rather make a run of the mill videogame, that doesn't have anything new, nor does it hold the same allure every time you play it. That's what makes a truely good video game: one that is completely new, contains material that has not ever been tried and tested, a good game is usually a leap of faith into the abyss. A great game also holds the same allure every time you play it. I know I get a certain sense of gratification every time I play certian games, even if I don't get anywhere at all(Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 64, certain final fantasies, and original zelda games).

Yes, but are you taking into consideration every possible upgrade in mario's arsenel. Big, tiny, etc.

Put yourself in the shoes of a game designer. YOU ARE the game designer for this hypothetical expedtion into your mind. Take your favorite game, the game you have memorized EVERY cheat, secret, and the whole game, you know all of the lines of the text. How would you change it? If you were the boss, what would you do? Anything's game, from the most plain and unimaganitive (frowned upon), to the wild, crazy, and imaginative (good). Would you make mario, say a electirician instead? What would you do to your LEAST favorite game? The game you simply hate with every fiber of your being, the game you attend communal burnings of. Would you make Sonic run in slow motion instead of hyper speed? This is simply for me to see how imaginative you really are, as opposed to how imaginative you think you are. I would like to see how the collective mind of the gamer community works, because I know when i play games, i have myself seen minor tweaks that could have been made. I will not share any of mine,not because I'm being selfish,rather because I want you to think for yourself, to be imaginative, i won't be (too) hard on your brilliant, well thought out plans for changes to games.

I fully agree with you that the wii is under rated. Sadly, in my expeirences in life, i have seen that oftentimes nintendo games are stereotyped as being "kiddy". Just like rpg games are oftentimes associated with utter nerdiness, mario and the gang, along with pokemon and many others are thought of as kiddy. I have no idea where this idea came along, but it is completely false, there are plenty of adults who play and enjoy mario games. The people (adults or kids, doesn't matter) who consider themselves gamers, but refuse to pick up a mario game, or even a final fantasy game make me angry. To me, a gamer is a person who loves to play a wide variety of games. NOT JUST FPS. Am i right?

I have been coming up with numerous ideas for gaming universe battles. So, i thought what better place to tell about these than a gaming forum. Okay, first up: magickarp vs. starman. Claire redfield vs. zero suit samus. Megaman vs. Nemisis. Sonic vs. cactuar. Mario vs. master chief. Okay, so let your imagination run wild! Weigh in on the battles i have come up with, and i'll tell you who i would think after some people have given their ideas. Also, feel free to make up your own battles. I would no way want to be responsible for inhibiting your imagination, possibly resulting in the explosion of the melon that is the head that contains your brain.

What are you're fondest memories of videogaming. Is it your first game you ever played/bought? The first console you bought, or you're absolute realization that you have joined the infinitely growing amounts of video game addicts. Or discuss you're worst nightmares in video gaming. Video games that gave you nightmares as a youngster (resident evil for me), saddest point in a game you've played, reducing you to tears, or did a task force of ninjas destroy your favorite console, or *gasp*, did you break both hands, or loose both hands, making gaming impossible?

sadly, the only i have left is a n64. atari broke, lost hook up cords for SNES, and was for some reason tossed to the curb, like a half eaten pickle.

I don't really have a favorite villian, rather i have villians i hate the most. More accurately, i believe the title of the thread should be: final fantasy villians who have brought you down on your knees begging for mercy (with tears in your eyes, holding your broken body parts together after he gave you a good butt woopin). Well, the only villian i really despise is seymour from X. Seymour has this thing he does, he pops up when you least expect it. So far, i have fought him twice, with two battles still looming on the horizon. I am right now trying to kill him (or rather defeat him, considering he's already dead....) but he kills all my people with one hit apice, and banishes my aeons right after i have them use overdrive. *sobs* It's not fair!

Personally, i believe the first two of the series to be hands down, the most white knuckling, tear inducing, fetal position ensuring games of the series, maybe of even any game i have ever played. I'm not sure what it is, maybe lack of knowledge as to where to go, or the fact that if you go the wrong way on the world map, you get owned by enemies far stronger than you. Which one is the hardest for you, explain.

my first zelda game was ocarina of time for N64. After i played that, i have been going back and playing all the older ones, while keeping up on playing the new ones.

Who plans on buying heart gold or soul silver? Is it just veterans who remember playing the original and want to try this remake out? What do newcomers to pokemon think about this game? What do pokemon veterans think?

I am not making this a poll, but i would like to know which you prefer, classic megaman or network transmission games. in my opinion, both are fun. i think that network transmission is not as hard as the original ones. what do you think?
