Ideally, we would have a culture where your salary doesn't change the way you are preserved, nor cause you to compare yourself to others. I think a effort to live that way, along with salary transparency, is that way to go.

But how do we accomplish that? I have no idea. Thankfully, I think the younger generations are perhaps less likely to "keep up with the Jones'" than their parents did, but that' only from my limited observation.

As you likely know, Amazon Prime has recently unveiled pics of the lead for their new Tomb Raider series; it's Sophie Turner.

And to no one's surprise, a tremendous amount of feedback has been negative, saying she doesn't look the part, or is "too skinny".

Really?! She looks similar to some of the older designs for the character:
1769087205.jpg
I know no one can compare to Angelina Joli, but Sophie still looks the part. Furthermore, people are obsessing over her weight and breast size. In reality, she's EXTREMELY fit (look at her arms and abs), as Lara should be.

It's part of a very unfortunate trend where people love to hate things, and it seems even more common when people can comment of someone's body.

Personally, I think she looks the part; time will tell if she can act the part.

I think horror is back. Not that it necessarily went anyway, but I find that most horror movies previously were a bit campy, and mostly catered to people who loved horror for the sake of horror (which isn't me).

But have you noticed in the past couple years the amount of "good" horror movies? They now have beautiful cinematography and music, artistic direction, impressive sets, complex screenplays, and award-worthy acting. Here are some horror movies that I've seen that have come out the past two years:
  • Sinners (which is likely going to be nominated for a million oscars)
  • Weapons
  • 28 Years Later (which is a beautiful piece of art, IMO)
  • 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
  • Frankenstein (gorgeous sets, costumes, and colour).
  • The Substance (great screenplay with top acting)
  • Nosferatu (beautiful cinematography and impressive acting)
  • Longlegs (Slightly overrated, IMO, but still impressive)

And that's only the past two years. It's not my favorite genre, usually, but lately, it's delivered some great cinema.

Any more you would add to the list?

EX Palen : The real question is, does your possible fiance know to check Vizzed to see that you are planning on proposing? Or is it not a secret at all?

For me, it's just to become more productive. I have been very lazy this year. I plan on trying to accomplish a hard thing once a day.

This is a delicate topic for sure, and I believe it's important for me to urge you to seek legal and medically advice about dying at all costs.

In Canada, they have recently loosened their laws on it, but it's still restrictive. You must have a "grievous and irremediable medical condition", which must meet these criteria:

  • have a serious illness, disease or disability
  • be in an advanced state of decline that cannot be reversed
  • experience unbearable physical or mental suffering from your illness, disease, disability or state of decline that cannot be relieved under conditions that you consider acceptable

However, Canada has publicly funded healthcare, which is great for the residents, but it means it's hard for visitors to use this service. There may be exceptions, however. You could speak with a lawyer in Canada, it would probably be free to just call them and ask if it's even possible.

Personally, I of course believe as many barriers as possible should be removed for people to have the right to choose their end-of-life when facing serious disease. I don't understand the reluctance the governments have for allowing this.

I don't envy you working in retail. I have never had to, but it seems challenging. People can be rude and stupid.

tornadocam : People do not know the country their city is in?! How often does that happen?

  1. In-game purchases and microtransactions. I just want to buy a whole game and play it.
  2. Tasks or quests that are only designed to be tedious and repetitive without being interesting. Like if someone is like "I lost all my potatoes, help me pick them up" and you have to spend 15 minutes just putting the potatoes back in the cart. It's not challenging or interesting, it's just tedious. Think of something better.

Like tornadocam, I also rarely get bored. If anything, it's the opposite: I find there is just so much amazing things to do and things to discover, I wish I had a hundred lifetimes to do them.

But, occasionally, I do catch myself thinking "man, I don't feel like doing anything, what should I do?" I usually go out. I may go to a bar and bring a book or my switch, or maybe go grocery shopping (I love food), just to see what cool products or fruits there are that I have never had.

It would be Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

It's was the first $70 game from one of Nintendo's IPs. However, I do not think $70 is as outrageous as people say it is. I think the ability to spend hundreds of hours immersed in a game that is beautiful, with carefully balanced mechanics, awesome music, and over 100 quests and adventures to be well worth that price. Hell, I would probably pay $100 for that.

When playing a game, do you tend to favor the main quest mostly, and then work on the side quests afterwards?

Or do you work on side quests as they pop up?

Or do you purposefully keep the main quest for the end?

I typically:

  1. "Get me feel wet" by working on the main quest for a few hours
  2. Try a few side quests, especially the ones I think may give me better items/stats/skills
  3. Work on the main quest until I can tell I'm at the end-game
  4. Work on completing all the side quests I have the patience to (like, 80% completion or so)
  5. Finish the main quest
  6. Check if there's any good post-game content

Note quite technology turning against me, but twice this year, I thought I updated my automatic payments for my phone bill, but I didn't click the "make default payment method" and so randomly, in the middle of the day, my phone data just stopped. They didn't even bother calling to say "hey, you are overdue".

I don't crave specific foods very much. More food in general.

Food is probably my biggest "obsession". I love cooking, eating, review food, talking about food, trying new things, etc. I think about food every minute of the day. So in a way, yes, I have cravings for ALL food that drive me crazy.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
