Random users on a website clicked a button next to your name that made a number go down and you've created an entire narrative about how you're some lone renegade for it. Yeah, man, the Internet just can't handle your opinions but that's too bad for them, right? Come on. You've managed to take "not taking something seriously" too seriously -------------------- |

And that's about the extent of it, really. Resident Evil 4 costs 20 dollars on the steam store page and I'm willing to give someone all my Viz for it. There isn't presently a code on the vizzed market, so I'm offering a deal here that is likely better than anyone will get on the market to get it now. If that sort of thing interests you, then please PM me. -------------------- |

I was a kid once, about 20 years later I came to my senses and decided to go shrieking head first into adulthood. In that time I learned quite a bit, how to not make friends, how to not get a girlfriend, how to perform disappointingly in an academic setting, all sorts of things. I also learned quite a bit about what teenagers go through, being a teenager at the time. The first point doesn't demand much attention. Teenagers are swearing. It's a part of f****** life. Swear words are just nouns, adjectives, and verbs that your teachers would rather you not say. It has absolutely nothing to do with moral standards. Anyone who can keep it in moderation, keeping their composure and allowing proper conversation flow can use as many as they want. You assuming it has something to do with moral standards and saying they should have to wait speaks to a bit of snobbishness on your part, but that is for another day. I care more about kids saying "it brings out the worse in everyone" more than I care about kids saying "Why do I have to take out the f****** trash?". We jumped from swearing to having sex very quickly like a crazy southern couple, not to mention the fact that you said fornicating instead of having sex, implying that it's a problem that 12-14 year olds aren't married. Arguably I would rather have HPV than a wife at 14, at least HPV will let me go out with my buddies and won't pressure me for children. That said I hardly blame kids these days for going at it, if I had a willing partner, which I didn't due to extraordinary social inadequacy, I would have been right there with them. I remember being a kid, that is one of the most confusing times of your life but one thing is very clear whenever you see a member of the opposite sex walk by, and that thing is something I will leave either your parents or porn to explain to you. It should be mentioned though that those kids are in the shocking minority when it comes to having sex at that age, I highly doubt that kids in your school are just going around like rabbits at a singles mixer. The problem of them being unprotected I think says something about the American sex education system, I don't know where you are from but I'm assuming it's America because our sex ed classes are non-existent, wrong, or sound like they are being explained by a second grader who spells out the word S-E-X. Does sex have anything to do with morals? Not if the partner is consenting and alive, so I'll let that part pass by. Does some blame still rest on the kid's side? Probably, chances are they have heard of condoms and they aren't the most complicated things in the world, but the fact that tons of kids today still aren't getting proper education is the real problem here. My take on this post is the ramblings of an outsider of his own culture looking in. Make a friend, talk about girls (or boys if that's your thing), say a swear word, it won't kill you. Once you get them out of the way you'll realize what they really are, a part of life. The first point doesn't demand much attention. Teenagers are swearing. It's a part of f****** life. legacyme3 : I think if anyone did something that should bar them from the position, it should have been reported by someone. Realistically, I don't see a situation where someone capable of the position is completely missed by the globals. Even if, I don't think it's necessary to change the entire system, especially to something like elections, which just sounds like such an annoying process to me. The forums being filled with different posts about "hey, hire me, I'm way better than all those guys" -------------------- |

Staff members do campaign to the only people that matter in this situation, the admins and globals. Why bother mucking up the new posts with "vote for ender! He's the attractive, cynical red-head that this site needs!"? Why bog down the site with reality show BS as people get offended, people lie, and people parade themselves around like peacocks for the sake of an election? Vizzed doesn't need this -------------------- |

This, this is perfect. Final Fantasy is a series based around complete lack of care for what the player wants to do in order for them to follow the very linear path the game wants them to, and not a single story they have written in the past 15 years has been any good. Mass Effect 1 was a barely competent RPG that had no idea how to tutorialize or keep the player at all invested in what is going on. Nearly every single nintendo game now is a cynical cash in from loyal fans by selling them what is basically the same game over and over and over and over and over again. They also haven't made a good console since the gamecube because they keep shoe horning gimmicks into their systems when they aren't necessary making them about as friendly to third parties as a Venus fly trap is to a fly Bastion had lackluster gameplay and a story that had more holes than swiss cheese. Shadow of Mordor was so easy it could be played by a toddler without hands and it's story failed so badly it couldn't even manage to tell it's incredibly simple story without filling it with plot holes. Dark Souls 2 is the worst sequel ever made, somehow managing to understand the lore of it's own universe less than someone who just played the game a lot, in this case me. With a plot that can be summed up in the words "and then it happened again", you'd think there wouldn't be all that much you could get wrong, but somehow they managed to do it. They completely spit in the face of those who liked the first game by making the plot of the first game trivial with it's new found plot device of cycles, thereby showing them that not a single thing they did matters. The artstyle was changed making the game look childish and nothing like a souls game should. The gameplay was slowed and glitchy at times, resulting in so many unfair deaths that I could only count by looking at the holes in my wall. People who still buy sonic the hedgehog games have a horrible memory, unwarranted optimism, an age under 10 years old, or a dreadfully small IQ. Even the best games have all the appeal of riding down a difficult to control roller coaster, but the awful stories and complete lack of care for their own franchise in every single other game shows that everyone from sonic team needs to go back to kindergarten. Super smash brothers games haven't been good since melee. If I were to compare them to food they would be the gluten-free, allergen-free, fat-free, sugar-free, nut-free foods that are made for kids who have allergies to everything. Anyone can eat them, but nobody gets anything special from a food or game that widespread. The newer games are an examples of the participation medal generation where everyone can play and nobody is really challenged. Did you know I've been on this site for three years? No? Well, I've been on this site for three years. I started out on this site as a boorish, cynical 27 year old, and look at me now, I've made it all the way to being a boorish, cynical 30 year old. Funny how time causes change. See, I figured once this time came that I would have something else to say for the occasion, but I guess the real gist of this is that I have been on this site for 3 years. I've been nobody, I've been staff, I've been a mod, and I'm back to nobody. So that's where we are. Jordanv78 : Totally forgot that the people of vizzed knew it was my birthday. Just got on for a sec and saw 11 notifications lol. Maybe because I didn't have all that many good birthdays as a kid, I never really was big on making a big fuss of a birthday. My policy is if you want to come over or something to celebrate, cool, if you want to give me a present, even cooler, but I don't really care either way. My older brother insisted I go out for a little while so we went around to see the things Florida has to see, although it is Florida so mostly you see sweaty people, and tourists taking pictures of other sweaty people so they can post them to Instagram with the tag #VacationFun. There isn't much to do here, despite what you might think, so eventually we said screw it and played a round of mini-golf, and you learn certain things playing old child-hood games as a 30 year old, one that they are extremely expensive, and two that they aren't as hard as you remember, as I was able to laugh in the face of all those silly little sixth graders struggling to make par. Ha! What losers. This is somewhat unique of a birthday though, as my age now has a zero at the end of it, which is a new benchmark on the way from cradle to grave. Some people I know aren't excited to be 30 but I don't see much of a problem with it. Yeah, I'm closer to dying and people in clubs and bars will start to give me more and more looks that translate to "shouldn't you be watching your kids?", but as someone who isn't married and hasn't created another human, I still have quite a bit of life I can be living. I'm free to travel and play video games all the time and as a financially stable individual I have the means. I've always wanted to visit Norway, I think I might do that sometime. Plus, 15 days from now will be my three year anniversary, so I got that going for me. Congrats on the new PlayStation, this will bring you new and exciting opportunities to play great games like... ... ... Well, I hear Toyota is bringing out a new marketing strategy where they sell you the steering wheel for 30,000 dollars and show you some cool pre-rendered videos about how cool the rest of the car will be when it is released. Or perhaps that's a better metaphor for early access.... just remember to pre-order the rest and they'll throw in a free paint job and accountant to make sure you never do something like that again. All cynicisms aside I'm sure batman is really fun. Never was my kind of thing but I struggle to find things I like. ... ... play4fun : Sure, let's move to another thread. Also, whatever resemblance between my arguments and another is not intentional. I think we atheists make a lot of the same arguments, because there are a lot of parts of the bible and the Christian mentality that we all believe need to be argued. I'm not sure what you mean about me being the primary responder, perhaps just that I'm posting a lot in this thread. It just started with me talking with ahkarate and then mrfe jumped in and now I'm talking with a bunch of people. I believe I've said in the past that I truly believe you are a very intelligent person, and this is something I would love to talk out with you. If you want to do apologetics for the old testament, or want to talk about the Bible vs Science, that sort of thing, summon me and I'll try to give my take on the matter. -------------------- |

As Eirinn will recall, I once said I would sacrifice a child if The Last Guardian were released, and two great things happened, The Last Guardian was shown at E3 and the police haven't yet shown up at my door. I was quite disappointed though. Team Ico have two games they can really draw inspiration from, and they decided to draw it from the one that wasn't as good as the other. It seems to take after Ico like a child taking after it's abusive father, and I don't think that is all that good. Ico was fine, but The Last Guardian just looks boring. It's beautiful, yes, but calling a Team Ico game pretty is like reiterating that Donald Trump is ugly, everybody knew that before going in. They didn't show off any interesting new mechanics besides that giant-dog-griffin thing, but everything shown in the trailer looked incredibly choreographed, so I don't see any opportunity for unique experiences. No epic music, no cool boss battles to justify me being excited over the game, just a giant-dog-griffin that will inevitably used to make me cry like a big baby later on in the game, because team ico treat companions like flies, they swat them the second they get comfortable. As for the Final Fantasy 7 remake, I'm watching it like a tiger petting zoo, I'm very intrigued but I see many ways it could end badly. Square have changed a lot over the years, mostly for the worse, sorry, entirely for the worse, and I worry about the effect they'll have on this new remake. And I like to imagine you left Dark Souls 3 just for me like tossing a slab of meat into the Rancor Pit so it can be torn apart. Here's my problem with it: THE TRAILER WAS BASICALLY THEM TALKING ABOUT DARK SOULS 1! You are walking through the remains of a once great civilization? Yeah, I'm basically a tour guide of once great civilizations, I've been walking around in them since Dark Souls 1. The problem with the cycles device they have written for themselves is that they are basically going to advertise the same game over and over again. Seriously, if I didn't know any better I would think they were talking about a Dark Souls remake. That said, I see opportunity in Dark Souls 3 like I see opportunity in the rifle at the end of Old Yeller. Let this be the final bullet in the skull of my beloved franchise, let it ascend to heaven as a reminder of how not to make sequels. Game looks alright, though. And for honor looks pretty cool. SoL@R : I use "Christ" because I was raised in a Catholic household, so that word used to have quite a bit of weight for me, now it doesn't but the word still sticks in my mind, secondly I used it because I was talking about Darwin being a social Christian, and the word seemed to fit. I didn't seek to offend anybody. Also, it's kind of rude that you ask me to demean somebody Else's religion instead of your own, but just to prove a point, even though many Buddhists don't see Buddha as a deity, here we go. Mohammad, it's like 90 degrees in Florida right now. And for the love of Buddha, David (my brother) would you turn the Buddha-damn music down? There is a lot of confusion on the term agnostic-atheist. In fact I'm not entirely sure if I made it up or not, I heard it used and kind of crafted it to my own definition. What it means to me is that I don't believe there is a god, that said, I don't deny that there could be because we don't know yet, I don't think it's likely but it could happen. And I just want to get this part out of the way before I continue real quick play4fun : I completely agree. Very few things are without faith. Sometimes, faith leads to great discovery, but I think faith has its place and discovery has its. Faith may lead to a discovery or an idea but after that you need to leave it at the door and start providing evidence. Also, and I can't find where someone in this thread said this, but I feel like I remember someone in this thread saying it, I hate it when atheists say "I believe there is no God", that goes against this whole thing. Atheism is about saying "I don't believe there is a God". Saying the former statement does require some faith, I agree on that. My problem is not with faith, my problem is with religion. I don't think it's relevant in today's society. I think a problem with creationism and those that follow it is the way they go throughout their logic. What they think is "I want to believe in a God, so here are things I will find to support it", not "Here are the facts, let's see what they support". I highly HIGHLY doubt in this day and age we would come to the conclusion that a God created the Earth. The people who wrote the Bible were looking for meaning in an age where they knew very little about the universe. Much like the Greeks and the Romans they had no explanation so they created their own that in a way united them as a people. Back to SoL@R, sorry, I am very bad at organizing my thoughts and I need to put them out once they come to mind. The problem I have with you saying that deep down everybody knows there is a creator God is that there really isn't a way for me to disprove it. When I still believed in God, which I believe stopped when I was about nine, I treated God as basically an imaginary friend. My other imaginary friend was a dragon, and they held about the same weight. I feel like this assumption is you not wanting to believe that there are people out there who may have substantiated claims against your deity. Now allow me to go claim by claim here As for the first claim, I wouldn't really call that science. Similar to the people who wrote the bible, very few societies then had taken the time to explore the world. I honestly can't blame them for thinking that. But the cool part about science is that we learned, when we found the evidence we accepted it. And let's not forget a very big problem with religion that Galileo had to deal with Church: The Earth is the center of the Solar System Galileo: The Sun is the center of the Solar System Church: Rescind everything you just said, you're under house arrest. Looks like the church isn't always right. As for the bible verse from what I see here it says the Earth is a circle, which is flat, not a sphere. There is nothing here to say that they knew it was a sphere. As for the second claim, the cool part about science is that we learn things! One of my favorite parts about science is that we went from knowing nothing to knowing so much about the world around us! I don't know how this quote puts points in the favor of religion, all you are saying is that at first we didn't know something and now we do. And it isn't even like the Bible was proven right on that one, as we don't know if that was God or not that made them. As for the third, the bible verse I got was this, not sure if it was the one you got “What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside? Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings?" I don't know how this implies that light moves... And as for the last claim, again I don't see how this implies that the Bible was right. This quote only seems to imply that channels appeared, which doesn't translate to mountains and valleys. A channel is just a strait. I also don't really know that the scientific community as a whole or at least as a majority believed that the ocean floor was flat, but for the sake of argument I'll say they did, even so, the cool part about science is that we are learning. When we get something wrong we learn more. Judging from that last quote Yes, you can choose whether or not to act on those feelings, but who's to say they shouldn't? Child Molesters cause extraordinary emotional and physical damage to those they affect, that's why we punish them. Two gay guys going at it under the watch gaze of God doesn't affect anybody but you guys because you insist on shaking your fists at them. Why stop at homosexuality? Maybe because we don't want to bang horses. I'm an atheist and I'm quite content with underwhelming women, and I have no desire to add men or goats to that list. What is the notion that Christians have that we will immediately all go out and shag a sheep like a Welshman on a lively Saturday evening the second we have the Okay? You guys think atheists have no morals because we have no god? How about the people who have a god, like the crusaders? Let's look at a few bible quotes here Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT) "If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB) Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB) They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB) If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT) Judging from that last quote you should now be trying to find my address so you can put an end to me. Plus, you cheated on your wife, your own god wants you dead. You believe so readily in the morals of the Bible do you? Looks like you were willing to skip out on that part. You call this stuff morals? Let's not forget only what God's followers do, but what God himself apparently has done. Like when he sicked she-bears on children for calling a man bald. Really? That's all it takes? You guys are worried about two men hooking up, but you are okay with your God murdering children with a bear?! This was of course (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB). Let's also remember the flood, which of course didn't happen, but those of this religion at least believe it did. God decided to murder 99% of the world's populous because people were being evil. Really? Bit of an overreaction don't we think? God loves all of his creatures, yes, but apparently he didn't care about all of the creatures he killed. I imagine a wolf that overslept and missed a spot on the ark and drowned, all because God decided he wanted a swimming pool. Then we have the benevolent and omnipotent being that for unexplained reasons decided that he couldn't forgive our sins unless someone died, a "good" person no less. This reminds me of whipping boys, he punished a good person for no reason and expected us to learn a lesson. I'm not trying to be funny either, all of this stuff is in the Bible. I would find it funny if so many people didn't accept it. Even if there was a God, look at all this stuff listed here. If you believe he actually did this stuff, then why would you want to spend eternity with him? Here is a link to a wikipedia page on Lymphatic Filariasis, a disease caused by parasitic worms that leads to tons of horrible pain and deformities. Why did God have to make that? What did the young children of those tropical continents do to deserve something like that? Before God sends me down to the lake of fire I'm going to ask him why this stuff had to exist, and he better have a good answer for me. Now that I am at about 1700 words I think we can stop. This was quite the long post. This is longer than any review I've ever done I think. I know I'm not going to change any of you guys' beliefs, but I hope someone out there who is starting to think like I do can see it and have something to say when people call them out for what they think. mrfe : While it is true that many scientists are Christians, Christ, even Darwin was at the very least a social Christian, the defining difference between them and somebody who argues as a Christian are what they use. When Darwin was talking about evolution he didn't say that it didn't happen because this is what the bible says, Darwin said that evolution happened because this is the evidence he has. I'm not saying that Christians can't be scientists, I'm saying that science isn't Christian. Science, at least when used well should be apart from the concept of faith, when that is what religion bases itself of it. The Bible doesn't seek to prove anything that it says, and it baffles me greatly that people still believe a book written thousands of years ago has any standing today. You can be a Christian and provide points against it, but arguing the points of Christianity doesn't get us anywhere, because the Bible hasn't changed in years, and science is always changing as we discover new things. Don't take me for a stubborn man, I'm willing to accept things that have evidence, that's why I'm an agnostic-atheist. My opinions follow the evidence, and the evidence is bringing us to the conclusion that homosexuality is not a choice. That is the simple fact of the matter. Don't for a second believe that I think we have proven it, because we haven't. We haven't completely proven there isn't a god, that's why I consider myself an agnostic-atheist. It certainly isn't the Christian God, but there could have possibly been something of a higher power that created us. Not that it's likely, just that it could have happened. You're right, science hasn't explained everything, but religion seeks to explain nothing. It is an entirely faith based belief system. There is a world, and we have a lot of theories as to what happened to create it. Not a single one of which involves a guy taking a week long holiday and making a universe. Also, I see this far too often. "Evolution is just a theory", yeah it is a theory, but it is a scientific theory. Police officers talk about theories they have on cases, a theory in that context is just something you think could be an answer. A scientific theory is much more complex, it is tested and tested and tested and tested and tested and tested and tested. Just about every scientist in the world will agree that evolution happened, it is happening, and it will continue to happen over the years. Those that don't agree with evolution, I'm of course willing to hear out but I'm also willing to bet that they're wrong. As for Ron Gold, I think he is actually going for a Bronze on this one. There is a genetic difference in homosexuals, all of the articles I have provided thus far has stated that. Secondly, it's true that people change who they are for a society, but they never change who they are inside. Conversion therapies have been shown time and again to work about as well as Jurassic parks, and tend to inflict the people that go to them with very intense psychological problems. This actually makes me laugh, they change "culturally (as in virulently homophobic societies)". Yeah, I'm sure in an incredibly homophobic society, perhaps like the ones that exist today that are very vocal and violent towards them, a lot of gay people will say "Yeah, I'm gay, and I'm not changing!". Maybe there is a small bit of fear that comes into play on that one. Don't take me for a stubborn man, I'm willing to accept things that have evidence, that's why I'm an agnostic-atheist.
