well i am playing anthology and also it is happening on parasite eve it says that i am saving during the game but when i exit the game and try to go back it will not let me

when i save a game with final fantasy or parasit eve 2 and then shut the game off and when i go back to play it again it says there is no saved game on file how do i fix that i am slightly stupid and have not figured it out yet please help
