Hello,
I recently came back to the site and updated my emulator (Vizzed rgr 2.41) and I'm having issues with audio. The game will play, but the audio gets so glitchy I end up muting the game. This happened on Final Fantasy 1, Breath of Fire 2, and a few others.
My speakers are fine. I've updated Flash. I'm playing on Firefox as recommended.
Ideas???
Thanks,
Astynax

I get the initial justification, but the idea of arming teachers is, in reality, terrible.

The burn-out rate for most teachers is 2 years. Adding to their responsibilities the need to carry a weapon and also do the job of a soldier/cop will just deter people from going into the field. It's not the job of an educator to play soldier. If you want security in schools, divert funding from war, bring soldiers home, put money in education, and hire retired soldiers as security in schools.

Teachers are not soldiers. The argument for training isn't good enough.

Police officers go through extensive training, much of which involves managing focus in stressful situations (so you don't accidentally shoot a civilian) and NOT losing your gun in a struggle (something like 50% of police killed by guns are killed with their own guns in melee struggles).

I'm sorry, but what's the topic? It seems like,.. when a religious person starts talking about "GOD this and GOD that and praying for souls" it's on topic...but when someone doesn't want to talk about God it's off topic? The fact that the shooter should have never had a gun is also off topic? What else is off topic? Besides your preferences, of course.

This is the NEWS section and a discussion on a shooting. If you want to stay on Topic, talk about the shooting instead of just quoting Bible verses and praying. There's a religious part of the boards for that.

This shooting should have never happened. The more we find out about the shooter, the more we find that his parents knew better and should have been far more cautious. Why did he have access to guns? Should teachers be armed? (No... but that's on topic). How can this be prevented in the future? WERE there warnings that went unnoticed? What's being done for the families? These are topics.

God doesn't need to be a part of this discussion.  This is not a religious thread or an anti-religious thread. I'm an atheist, but I'm not complaining about the people who went to a church after the shooting. They're not there looking for God, they're there looking for people they know, family members, and solidarity during a horrible time.

The topic is the shooting. Stick to the topic. We can debate religion in other posts.

Incest? What does that have to do with Jesus being married?

Also, even if it was incestuous (again, I don't know WHY you brought that up) look at Adam, Eve, and their sons... who populated the Earth... >.>

katie.rae : I ran into the same problem when I got Bowser.

Can't equip armor or new weapons, can't watch tutorials, etc.

I love this game... but it's not worth the aggravation!

AuraBlaze : Discussing what should have been done is a way of discussing what should be done in general; and, therefore, what should be done in the future.

Discussing the fact that the man shouldn't have been pushed on to the tracks isn't really a topic of discussion. By that, I mean that unless the man who was killed had previously threatened the life of the man who pushed (which he didn't), there's no justification for pushing him onto the tracks.

To answer your last point, the "pusher" has been arrested and, I believe, charged with murder.

The New York Post recently published a picture taken in a subway. The picture was of a man who had been pushed onto the tracks. He was hit and killed moments after the picture was taken. Criticism has come against the photographer for not trying to save the man, and against The Post for publishing the picture.

Was it wrong for The Post to publish the picture? Or is it simply showing us an ugly reality that we don't want to see?

Was it wrong for the man to take the picture? Weigh in.

I should warn you, it's only about 2 hours long... you get through the first mission and the game ends. I guess that's the "Beta" part of it?

If you're a fan of old school, turn-based RPGs then you should give this one a shot. The story is classic, the characters are likable and, because the translation was well done, display a great mix of humor, courage, and passion.

The game graphics are a little choppy (it's an old game) and the world map is pathetic... but the over all look and feel of the game is great.

Combat is turn-based, and requires thought (if you have a flying enemy and don't use a jumping move, you'll miss). It's a little slow, and "auto" selects the most basic attack (so you'll always miss flyers if you use it). Other than that, it's well done. You can choose which enemy to attack (a HUGE bonus in older games) and the difficulty is well set. My only complaint (and it's not really a complaint, I'm just spoiled by modern games) is that it takes A LOT of fighting to level up -- like... 40 battles to go from level 2 to level 3.

Money is a bit weird in this game, as you can find it... but killing enemies won't bring you cash.

I only have one complaint about this hack -- movement speed. It's a HACK, the hacker should have worked in the ability to hold B and allow for faster walking. Getting from point A-B takes forever because of this. It's part of the reason I gave it a 4 for addictiveness. The main reason, however, is that RPGs RARELY have replay value unless there are a ton of side-quests (requiring a walk-through) or alternate endings.

That's it though. Great old game, GREAT job on translation (seriously, very impressed -- almost no mistakes, and you really captured character personalities). If you like old school, turn-based RPGs, and can tolerate some of the older mechanics and graphics, this is a great game to play.

Hi,

Not sure if this is the area where you post glitch issues but I figured the "help" section was a good bet. If I'm wrong, move it please.

Anyway, one of the new Sega CD games, Lunar: Eternal Blue, is awesome... but I can't save. Can someone check this out please? Let me know if you can save and how? The other comments on the game say the same thing... so either the game has a glitch, or there's a new way of saving (beyond F2) for Sega CD and I don't know what it is.

Cheers,
Astynax

It could be that it was left out because it didn't help the church. To see Jesus as the "son of God" is, perhaps, more difficult when you see him with a wife and kids.

I'm going to try to find primary sources for you, as I don't regard this as a great source. However, the explanation is given again and again... and one of the answers links bible study pages for more details, so this is a place for you to start.

"It seems a little silly that the Church would want the lands of a priest when he died" -- why? Many clergy members came from wealthy families and often joined the upper levels of the church for political reasons. When the "priest" is also the son of a Duke or Earl (and entitled to a great deal of land) -- WHY wouldn't the church want to increase it's wealth and holdings by getting the priest's inheritance?

I speak of the past, of course. Like I said, it's hardly an explanation for current practice.

I'll work on finding you better historical references that yahoo answers.

You should read "El Libro de Buen Amor" or "The Book of Good Love" in English.

The real reason for banning marriage in the past, was that much of the clergy came from wealthy families, and the church wanted their land when the priest died. A married priest would leave the land to the wife/children.

However, that doesn't explain the current practice.

I tried to like this, I honestly did... but there's just so much that should have been better.

The game starts out, and the first thing you notice is -- it looks awful. The colors are all too similar and the general look of the game is very very grainy. The color schemes of the characters are also very strange.

Looking past that, I visited the town (which I only discovered was a town on accident, as it looks like a black circle). The spells were very over-priced and had no descriptions... I bought weapons and armor and figured I'd grind a bit and buy the spells.

Right off the bat, the first battle out of town is against five enemies. Three of these, NONE of my characters could even hit (even after multiple rounds of attack). They, on the other hand, could hit me without issue. Who makes a game where you can't even hit the first enemy?

There is no description on weapons or stats while buying. There is no back story... but random people just some how "know" that a king you've never met expects great things. The writing is terrible... as if it's been put through Google-translate two or three times.

I could go on, but the bottom line is this: what started as a great concept ended as a train wreck. I loved the idea of a new FFI based on strategy. What I got was a hideous looking world with unacceptable flaws and nonsensical dialog.

It got a 7 for music because it's the same as the original, and 8 for depth because (though I hated it) the creator DID re-do the whole world, and a 10 for difficulty b/c it's frickin' impossible.

The reason ancient documents are just appearing now is a valid point of discussion. As I understand it, there are multiple possibilities:

1) It was being kept as part of a private collection (by someone who may or may not have known the true significance).

2) It was being kept in a massive archive by people who stored it to keep it safe and never got around to cataloging (for fun, picture the last scene of "Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark" -- I said "for fun", stay calm, people).

3) There is always the possibility that the documents were stored somewhere remote and then forgotten. I think, but can't recall, that the Dead Sea Scrolls were in a cave?

4) It was suppressed as heretical and only recently surfaced (There were many gospels, and many were discarded for various reasons). Ask one of the bible scholars about the history -- I honestly only care about religion when it infringes on non-believers, so I've not dedicated a great deal of my time to religious history.

5) It's fake, and someone is deliberately deceiving people.
