Roxanne - 7
Brawly - 7 (-3) He was basically just some filler gym leader in a filler subquest.
Wattson - 9
Flannery - 11
Norman - 11
Winona - 11 (+1) The gym leader had Altaria, which was actually one of my favourite pokemon. Plus, I kinda like her design and everything. It was always refreshing to see her everytime I play Emerald.
Tate and Liza - 8
Juan - 7
Wallace - 11

Since we now have many different varieties of Pokemon now, I don't have a single favourite. In fact, I have more than one favourite pokemon. It seems that I've only played up to Gen III, so don't really know the other generations above that. Anyway, here are my favourites.

ALTARIA. Some people may say it's just some chicken-looking dragon pokemon with clouds, but to me, it really shines in appearance and looks majestic. I love the clouds that surround this blue pokemon, and I just love its artwork.

DEWGONG. It may be just some meh-looking pokemon to many people, but I loved it ever since playing Gen I, so much that I've always had it in my team. I'm also a sucker for defensive pokemon like Dewgong (which is NU), Altaria and Skarmory.

MILOTIC. Its growth and transformation from a dirty feebas is really unique. Plus, it has a very unique evolution compared to anything else in Gen 3. It also has its reputation as the most beautiful pokemon (as implied in the pokedex), and it's beautiful, slender body is a testament to that. It's shiny version also really looks gorgeous.

HONORABLE MENTIONS. Some other pokemon that didn't make it to my personal top 3, but ones I personally adore are Kangaskhan, Nidoqueen and Dragonite. The latter's Gen I design looked really majestic, as a dragon/flying pokemon and really stood out as the final pokemon in the Elite Four challenge (just prior to facing the Champion) used by Lance. Didn't like its Gen II design though, but Gen III was pretty alright.

Looks like I couldn't configure them at all, and it kinda sucks as some of the keys don't work well in my laptop.

I double-clicked and the configure thing showed up, but when I highlight the keys, I couldn't edit them.
Any key I press, it doesn't change the key at all. It just stays highlighted but nothing changes.

Is there any way I could go around this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, thankfully I've managed to resolve it.
Thanks for the thread.

Unfortunately though, I've started to encounter another problem.
It's the fact that my character keeps on going left even though I haven't pressed the left button at all. :/
Is there anything to fix that other than having to edit the emulator controls yet again?

Jesus Christ.. This week isn't lucky at all for me. :/

So the VB emulator finally reverted back to normal today, but now I proceed back to playing where I last saved off, I tried to change the controls of up, down, right and left after seeing one of the pads of my keyboard didn't work, but somehow, I couldn't change the controls.

Is there another way to change the controls?
The double-click way doesn't seem to work at all.

^ Oh I see.

I thought this had something to do with my side, granted that I experienced a black-out 12 hours ago and my laptop automatically had to shut down because of it; and having not remembered anything I done a few years ago to resolve it, it kinda made me nervous somehow.

Anyway, glad it's not anything to do with that black-out incident 12 hours ago. But since I'm quite used to using VBA for the spacebar function though, I'll just refrain from playing until it gets fixed in the end, I guess.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Since this forum doesn't seem to have any sort of search utility function, I have to make a thread on this here.

So I've been playing Pokemon Glazed recently and seems that it was being removed by Nintendo or whatever. But this didn't bother me, as I could still load a previously saved game and I could still play it; but loading it again today, I ended up getting this message:

"Error: Failed to download server file version info"

I've experienced this problem before on a few other games I played a few years ago. and not because it was removed like this one, but I managed to fix it somehow a few years ago, but now I totally forgotten about what I did. Can anyone refresh my memory and tell me how to fix this error? Because seeing this message again, it's seriously starting to piss me off. :/

Too bad the "always Sunday" thing is still there. :/
And the fact that Growl and Leer and other moves similar to that affects both special and non-special attack/defense still puts me off. :/

To be honest, I actually liked the side-quests. In my opinion, they have a lot more interesting appeal and fun in them rather than just the boring old cliche go-to-town-after-TOWN, defeating-gym-leaders, get-their-badges and whatnot. The side quests make the game more realistic and shows that gym leaders don't just sit with their fat a$$es enclosed in their gym waiting for some challenger to come so they could flop their balls about. It somehow reminds me a little bit of Megaman battle network 5 which is really fun imo.

Another element I liked in the game was the trades. You could have low levels of completely evolved forms of pokemon that could evolve only by trading (except of course, machamp). Thus, you could EV train your pokemon from completely low levels, which is nice in a way. Would've been more nice if there was a battle frontier to put them to their use though . Graphics are amazing too. Not what you see everyday in a pokemon game .

But I have to agree with you though, that light platinum does seem overrated. Here are a few issues I really found distasteful:
1. The fact that the creator had to use "Ash Ketchum" .. Come on, why include "Ash Ketchum"'s name in a pokemon game? That name itself, only rightfully belongs to the manga. Ash Ketchup is got to be the most cliched name in the history of pokemon itself. And in a pokemon game, that itself, makes the game uncreative.

2. The fact that almost every single character in every city have the same scripted speeches. Why not make all of them different somehow? That itself, makes the game so repetitive, that it's mediocre and completely harms whatever creativity the creator applied to it. - If you're going to implement something so repetitive like that in a game, why not make your characters identical? - *sarcasm off*

3. The hint guy in every gym.. Even after you win, he somehow doesn't congratulate you. Instead, the guy is unfortunately stuck in a time paradox and still goes on about what type you should use to defeat the said gym leader. The guy's fate just depresses me.

4. The rivals.. Not complaining about the too many rivals because that's pretty much an ok thing imo. But like the guy above me said, they have no personalities whasoever. Like Silver, for example. In Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, he's basically the jerk-off kid who just had his period and goes ranting about how he's going to be no. 1, but always fails. While that personality gives it a nice feel to the original games itself, unfortunately you don't get to see that here. Instead, he turns... NICE?!?! So he basically shares the same personality trait as all the other rivals you're facing. It's like.. you're facing against twins, ffs.

5. The difficulty is also refreshing in the game. Unfortunately, it only gets difficult in the beginning. As you progress more, the game becomes considerably easier, and here's the irony: The game says "Lauren" elite four is more difficult than the Zhery one, but when I faced the elite four in Lauren, it's actually much easier than the Zhery one. Here's more irony: The world championships are much easier too.. I was able to beat Ash Ketchum with pokemon in their lv 70's -.-" .

6. There's not much pokemon in this game. Yes, it's ironic as it is. This game is said to include all pokemon from "Gen 1 to Gen V", but the problem is.. It includes only "a little bit of everything". I've completed the pokedex, completed the trades, completed basically everything.. But I still yet to see pokemon like ditto and rattata around, if there's any pokemon like that at all in the game. :/ Not sure if it's due to the limit in hacking the game (I'm not a hacker, soo I'm pretty much ignorant with this stuff) or something that's completely overlooked by the creator.

7. The fact that you basically receive mostly uber pre-evolved pokemon in every city from the start, like larvitar and dratini for instance. This completely reduces the challenge aspect of the game and makes it considerably easier to beat. Indeed, some people may argue that it "balances the game". But imo, that's not balance. Why? Because it makes the game so disappointingly easily later on that there's no point in even continuing the long playthrough. I only hope this was just a beta for the real release, otherwise.. No, just no. Thus, for the sake of satisfying my thirst for challenges, I had to avoid them.

8. Basically everything else that's been said on this thread.

The only thing I can say about this game is that.. It's Ironic.

EDIT: Almost forgot one more thing; the fact that you cannot fly to some of the cities in the lauren map is just annoying.. Okay, rant over. I'm done.

EDIT2: Well, sh*t. I seem to have too many complaints about this game o.O .. Another thing I find annoying, is that before you enter most of the gyms, there is no indication of what you should after that, if there's something you should do at all. For instance, how am I going to know which area I should explore to look for the gym leader in that particular town? Or that I should look for yet ANOTHER rival to fight with inside the bloody Drakebreath market before heading to the Elite four? Ffs, I wasted so much time having to catch a goldeen and train it to learn "waterfall" naturally, as I couldn't find the HM for waterfall and in the end, ANOTHER rival blocks my way to the cave leading to the elite four and says "I have to battle someone" .. Doesn't tell me the exact place, so I have to waste time yet again, trying to snoop out this "rival" that's supposed to be fighting me.. Gosh, there should be some clear indication. Jesus Christ.

Take pokemon crystal for instance:
- when you enter Jasmine's gym, the hint guy says she's at the lighthouse.. Even the rival says it too. Thus, it's been mentioned twice where we should go, in any case we've missed that once..
- After you beat the ice gym, Prof. Elm calls you after you exit mahogany gym and tells you that team rocket infiltrated the radio tower. Thus, acting as a guide to the storyline diversion itself.

That's the indication I should expect with a finished hacked game such as this. How am I supposed to know what sequence I'm supposed to follow unless there's a CLEAR indication? Okay.. Rant over, NOW I'm done. *takes deep breath and walks away*.

I have a few favourites

1. Ludicolo. A mexican pineapple pokemon with a sunbrero up his head. Tell me, what is more AWESOME than that?! And also to top it off, a cool moveset too Get a rain dish ability and give it rain dance, leech seed, giga drain/surf, protect/toxic with leftovers and watch every single attack your opponent is desperately hurling onto it and him going "Nope, I'mma sit here and watch you die, while I relax and get healthy".

2. Gorebyss. A pink dolphin pokemon. Beautiful must I say?! Oh yeah <3 . I really love how well this pokemon is designed. In battle, you could use it as a sort of defense/sp. defense passer (despite it's crappy HP stat) or, make it a rain dance sweeper. Really nice pokemon.

3. Altaria AKA the chicken dragon pokemon. In every Gen III pokemon game I play, this little guy just keeps screaming at me saying "Have me baby! You know you love me <3" Oh yeah Altaria, you know I do <3 .

Hi,

Whilst playing Pokemon Liquid Crystal for 3 days now, I've only just noticed now that the day (Sunday) doesn't change at all. Thus, I couldn't access more of the game's features. I've searched for this problem and one solution was to use VBA 1.8.0 and this changes day and time as "an older version couldn't change the day".

But the only access to this game I have is through here only so I don't really know what to do, to be honest .
Can this problem be repaired? Is there any other solution other than that?
I've got the latest vizzed plugin but that didn't seem to change day and time for this game. Don't want to quit now as I've already gotten far enough in progress in this game already .

If this problem can't be fixed, will playing the game on Mednafen change the day?
If yes, can the game be sped up on mednafen as the spacebar doesn't seem to work there.

This is literally the message I got when I tried playing Pokemon Liquid Crystal beta 3.3
Thus, I couldn't play it. Am I the only one who couldn't play it or something?
Is there a way I could bypass this error?
