Rastaban was my one of my favorite pet's name. He got his name because I was obsessed with Saga Frontier at the time. The character was dumb, but the name was awesome. I was complimented on his name quite a lot. He died last year, so I've been using his name as a tribute. I love my Banny and I miss him. I also go by the name Zozma, Garfakcy, and DXT. ... All right, so Myspace sucks major ass. It took me a long time before I finally went ahead and made one, and sure, most of the time nothing goes on. It's basically an over-glorified email system for me. But ask anyone; it's easier to get ahold of people via myspace. I've found a lot of my new friends via myspace and I've been reunited with old friends via the same old myspace. I know you claim it makes people more antisocial; but let me tell you this. I had only two friends growing up. I was extremely antisocial. I finally gave in and got a myspace after both my close friends and my little sister convinced me to. I hardly did anything with it at first. But then I started to learn how to customize and how to join groups and stuff. I started actually making friends; friends I would later meet. I AM NOT A TWEEN, and I was not looking for sex or anything weird when I met some of these people. Some of the people I met on myspace are now some of my closest friends.
So, it's not THAT freaking bad. I still refuse to make a facebook, though. Because you're right; you can only have so many freaking blogs. ... So, it's not THAT freaking bad. I'm not really into Code Geass. I saw like two episodes, and it just didn't click with me. (But I hate CLAMP and mech shows, put 'em together, and what'dya got?) I just noticed all my favorites are a little older. I haven't seen anything new lately that's caught my eye.

Really? They were told to tone it down? Why? I thought it was a lot better back then... Now it's all dry and boring. I can find more entertaining reviews online... Were they getting a lot of complaints? ... -------------------- ![]() |

X-Play used to be an awesome show, but I think it's lost its edge lately. Not to mention, they have a generally bad attitude to most RPGs, which usually leaves me protesting at the TV. I mean, Final Fantasy is an okay series and all, but jeeez, it's so over-rated! I was semi-happy with their review of Persona 3, and I haven't seen their views on Digital Devil Saga, but why do they have to constantly bag on the Japanese RPGs? "Oh no, not another Japanese RPG!"
I mean, it's not like America's trying--and I bet they could come up with some pretty good stuff if they did. The Japanese's portrayal of female characters usually has me gagging. All the fluorescent colors and high pitched giggles and falling on the ground and weak crybabies. Can you say Colette (of Tales of Symphonia)? I tend to like the females of American cartoons and movies, but the Japanese ones? Rawr. But now I'm bagging on them. Anyway, seeing as RPGs are about all I play with a few exceptions, I tend to get annoyed with them sighing and whining about "yet another one." The last movie I saw was The Dark Knight--my friend took me to see it on my birthday (August 23rd!). It was awesome! Except the fact that we couldn't stop laughing every time Batman spoke with that fake gravelly voice. I blame it on the fact that we had been watching some stuff on youtube that eventually lead to this Dark Knight spoof:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2yv8aT0UFc So when we heard his voice, we thought, "Are you serious?!" I agree that Heath Ledger did a great job on his portrayal of Joker. I expected his performance to be over-rated, due to the fact that he died before it was released; but he actually deserved all the credit he got for it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2yv8aT0UFc So when we heard his voice, we thought, "Are you serious?!" Yep, you saw Disgaea mentioned. My brother is super nerdy when it comes to that game. He's like level 3000 and he's never, ever once used a cheat. I'm sure that's not very impressive to some people... Or maybe I sound like a liar. But he's autistic, and his strange genius comes in the form of video games.
Actually, I do have some questions concerning the files I got for the sim RPG thing. How do I make them usable within the game? I can't figure out how to use the other map options; I can only use the first two it starts with. I'm sorry if that's a noob question. I'm a noob, after all. Our idea is a tactical type game, but it seems our options are limited and many of our lofty plans just aren't possible with what's out there. It's really disappointing. Anyway, I'm the crappy artist and one of the writers for the game. My brother is the guy who works out the stats, creates the maps, and he also writes. And my friend creates the graphic stuff--she turns my drawings into the little characters used on the screen. She and my brother are also doing the whole music thing (I'm not too musically gifted, myself.) I'm pretty sure nobody here would want to jump into our project and help... But we could use somebody who knows what they're doing to at least tutor us a bit. We've been working on characters, stats, and storyline forever, but when it comes down to the actual creation, we pretty much fail. My thoughts on it are fairly simple; given the fact that I too, can be considered at least bi-curious. I mean, I have a boyfriend and all, but there are some serious instances where I wonder. I'm sure everyone does at some point; wonder I mean. If not, well, then, I guess the fact that I wonder about myself answers whether I'm merely bi-curious or actually bi. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it all. Emotions are emotions. If you feel a strong connection; a lot of love and affection, with somebody, why does the fact that they are the same gender have to have a such a big impact? And yet it does. I recently had a conversation of this vein with my own mother the other day, and I can tell you right now: she is not pleased. But she wouldn't deny me as her child if I happened to have a significant other of the same gender. Still, it does sting that something that little would make her see me differently. Much as she denies it, I know it would. -------------------- |

Everything comes to an end, but with all the things I fret about, I certainly don't need the end of the world on my mind. My sister constantly brings it up, because her church is convinced our end is nigh in the next few years. The world is in a constant state of deterioration, so it's one thing I don't worry about; the world will end, sure, but there's not a thing I can do to stop it, so I'm not going to worry myself to death over it. -------------------- |

I know what you mean about the restrictions. A lot of the time, too, it's difficult to come up with good storylines for an RP with the characters that are chosen. Say you have a Jaffar, a Serra, and a Priscilla (from FE7); how would those three characters come up with a feasible storyline? I'm sure they could, but it'd be rather difficult, in my opinion.
I've not found many good original role playing places, though. Everyone wants to be the best character, so they all have far-fetched eye colors and whacked out hair and super-uber-awesome powers and abilities. It feels more like a competition than a character creation to me. I prefer to keep my OCs to my fictional stories instead and RP within fandoms. Some are quite difficult, however. Such as Digital Devil Saga. I RP as Gale, but there aren't many playing along with me. So far, just Bat and Cielo. I have contacted an Admin, but I forgot to mention the gender problem. Will do so now! Thanks! I've not found many good original role playing places, though. Yeah, I know what you mean about the first girl's foot. And I think I know what you mean about how sometimes parts of it look out of place. I was staring at Ruchira's swords, and they look terrible. Let's just keep in mind that I drew all of this with a ballpoint pen and colored pencils. I have a very bad--terrible, in fact--habit of drawing in pen ONLY. I hate pencils so much; they smudge and mess everything up and because I am so used to drawing in pen, I press down kind of hard when I draw, so pencil doesn't even help much, because even when I erase, it's very clear where I messed up. So that would be one reason why there are mess ups and not much I could do about it.
Thank you for the critiques. I'm trying to see if I have anything else that needs a look over. I'm a little afraid to show off the portraits I did for the main character of the game... He's a rather boring, hickish looking kid, so there's really not much I can mess up with him. But still... Thank you for the critiques. I can't answer the question as to why only staff members are replying. I almost expected a flood of other newbies with their one-liners!
But thank you for all the welcomes. I'm generally an active participant in any boards I join, and I'm also an admin on a few of my own (but they're roleplaying boards, so I'm fairly certain you guys wouldn't be interested--unless you like Fire Emblem?) I've also come to realize many of you are creating games of your own, which is awesome. I used to be a member back on the old RPGMaker board for a few years, up until they died and started over or something, and I just never came back. But thank you for all the welcomes. My brother really likes Tengen Toppa, but I have yet to see it. What's it about?
Also, I wanted to make a slight edit to my own list; I know I can go back and edit posts... I guess I mean, I would like to add an addendum. I really like Blood +, so it replaces Naruto on my top 3. I'm not even sure I like Naruto much any more. I've lost faith in it ever since Sasuke became the main character and all Naruto does is train (boring!) But I still love some of the characters; like Deidara and Kisame! And of course, Suigetsu! Since a certain story arc, Suigetsu is my new favorite character~! Yes, I read the rules. I'm not generally much of a rule-breaker, so I like to know what my limits are. I'll see about posting some of my adventures in writing, but I'm in the process of attempting to get published, so what I share probably won't be my best work. Roleplaying is a little dry lately, anyway. There are a good deal more chat speakers in the pool than intelligent types, if you get my drift. And I can't stand one-liners...
I do have a question about the rules, however. I don't recall ever getting a chance to choose my gender, and... I'm not male. However, my profile says that I am, and I cannot change it. What do I do about that? If you like that Tsunami Bomb song in Disgaea, I urge you to listen to some of their other music. I especially like the album titled "The Definitive Act." Argh, I know I suck at hands, but there is one thing I suppose I should have made clear as I posted the pics; my style is very cartoony. I draw skinny bodies and large feet on purpose. It's part of the style. But otherwise, I appreciate the critique. -------------------- |

Yo, there, I'm called Rastaban on this board, and many other places (that or Rastaban the Ninja, or the I'm a Ninja, or what have you!) You can call me Rasty or Ban or Banny for short. I'm 24 years old, I work as a daycare provider--I have no kids of my own, but I've got 2 awesome cats--Azrael and Susumu, as well as 4 awesome guinea pigs--Syris, Cozette, Chevalier, and Greybush. I live in California and I like the state, but honestly, I would rather live in a different city. Bleeeeh!
A lot of my favorite bands come from California! Like Alkaline Trio and Tsunami Bomb! I'm new, and it's been some time since I've been a part of a board that wasn't created solely for roleplaying (I do a lot of roleplaying! It's great practice for my other job--writing!) I joined this board so I can create a game my brothers and friend and I have been planning for years now, but I may just hang around if the atmosphere is friendly enough. Ah, what else? I like to think I'm intelligent, but I can be critical and harsh. My first reaction to most anything is annoyed--so I'm told. I don't get fully angry too easily, but I do seem to be annoyed most of the time! So yeah! That's me! A lot of my favorite bands come from California! Like Alkaline Trio and Tsunami Bomb! I really liked the manga, but oddly, found the anime a little dull in comparison. I was devouring the books! But it took me forever to get through the series. Some things are better read than watched and vice versa, I believe. But the animation was beautiful! I still like the anime, but the manga was better. (Matter of opinion, what can I say?) Plus, things started going downhill after a certain part of the show. I like Near and all, but he's nothing near as cool as L. No, that pun was not intentional, but I didn't know how else to word that. -------------------- |
