I've actually watched quite a bit of anime but my favorites would have to be:

Yu-gi-oh up to the GX series. (After that the series just becomes bleh.)
Dragon Crisis!

Actually, you don't need HM Cut in this game. In fact, I don't think there is a way to get Cut period.

As far as anime goes I'm going to have to go with Naruto. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge die hard Pokémon Fan, but the anime gets really annoying the same plot in every episode. Ash tries to do something, Team Rocket gets in the way by trying to steal Pikachu, fight scene, and then you hear the same old phrase "Team Rocket is blasting off again!" 

At least with Naruto you have a plot that develops without the same antagonist doing the same old tactics every episode or every other episodes.

Now, if this vote was for everything franchise wise I would definitely side with Pokémon all the way.

I know Fire Emblem is extremely good if you are interested in that.

Also there are some great Pokemon hacks on here that even though you're tired of Pokemon you still want to play through.
I know that the following games are a couple of those hacks:
Any of the Pokemon Ruby Destiny Series (Ruby Destiny Rescue Rangers, Life of Guardians, Reign of Legends)

Pokemon Dark Rising is also an extremely fun but challenging hack that gets your mind away from the general Pokemon standard storyline.

If all else fails definitely try Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, or even Dragon Quest.
