I'm single because I'm a bit different I suppose.

I'm a sort of complicated person, my past is complicated and so is my present. I've also always been a person that's more mature than other people my age which makes it hard to find people that actually understand me. Most people my age has always thought that I'm a bit weird because I'm deep and likes to analyze things.
Apart from that I'm also quite picky when it comes to boys. I want someone that can "tame" me, and someone who doesn't get "tamed" by me instead, I'm a rather strong willed person. All boyfriends I ever had has always been to easily changed. I don't want someone who always does what I want them to, I want a little challenge. Sigh, it's so hard to find the right person.... Maybe I never will.

I'm working on a bad habit I have.

Sometimes it's like I "disappear". It's like all my emotions and everything that defines me as a person just vanishes and I become "empty". Other people finds this strange of course because they get the impression that I'm offended, which I'm not. These situations tend to turn into arguments, because it happens very sudden and I don't even realize it. I'm working on this, and I'm trying to find a way to "reach" myself when it's like that. But it's really hard, how am I supposed to realize what I'm doing if I can't think? I finally managed to accept that this is a part of my personality and hopefully that will help me to move on and learn to handle it.

Alright the title kind of speaks for itself here.

Has anyone ever read any of H.P Lovecraft's works?
In case you're not sure who he is, he's the person behind the Cthulhu mythos. He was and American (I think) horror/sci-fi writer in the early 1900's. I just started reading his books and I just want to know what you guys think of his work. If you haven't read any of his books, why not start now? I found a good link to where you can download all his works as eBooks for free here.

Hello everyone!

I don't know how many of you that actually remembers me but, I'm 0ddie. I think it's been, like, almost two years since I've been online now.

Almost two years ago I was diagnosed with leukemia. Back then I had dropped out of school and was heading down a dark path. Lot's of partying and bad things happened. Nothing that I am proud of today, I feel like I wasted three years of my life doing absolutely nothing.

When I was diagnosed my life changed entirely. I fully realized what I was doing to myself and everyone around me. The cancer helped me to break free from all my "friends" and from the life I was living. I'm certain that if it wasn't for the cancer I would have been dead today. Sometimes tragedies turn into miracles.

Since I was diagnosed I've gone through numerous treatments and had a lot of chemotherapy, and I'm still not finished. In November will my treatments be finished and I will know for certain if the cancer is really gone. Today I'm studying again and enjoying life to the fullest. I've found myself again and since I've always wanted to be a scientist, that's what I'm aiming for.

I'm glad to reunite with this awesome community and find new and old friends here! If anyone have any questions or would like someone to talk to about anything, feel free to PM me! I hope y'all have a great day/night and I'll see you around. <3

Greetings friend!! *hands you homemade cookies*
Welcome to Vizzed! Hope you'll have a good time on here, and enjoy all the wonderful forums!
I'm thinking of studying as a nurse aswell, but I'm more into treating cancer patients since I've fallen ill myself. It really seems like a wonderful job if you want to help people!

Have a great day! C:

I feel you, kind of. I fully understand that your situation is really though, it puts you under a lot of pressure, which causes you to become both stressed and depressed.
I myself have had a few extremely hard years and right now I'm in a situation that is kind of similar to yours actually (even though it's totally different). I'll just go through my story the short version since this post is meant to help you and not to talk about my problems.

For the past two and a half years I've been a horrible person. Not only to my family (which is just me and my mum) but to myself as well. I've not been going to school, I've been using drugs, stealing things, fighting, not been at home most of the time causing my mother to worry herself sick. I've been to a rehab and not to long ago a reformatory. A month ago I was diagnosed with leukemia, blood cancer. I finally got to move back home and my whole life has changed, I have changed. I want to have a meaningful life, earn honest money, get a job and an education. No words can describe how bad I feel about the things I've done, and the only thing I want is to get back to who I was before and be able to live a normal life.
There is an 86% chance of survival with my illness and the treatment will be going on for two and a half years. During this time, I'll be sick a lot, and planning things is almost impossible. Since I'm only at the beginning of the treatment I don't really know what it will be like later on but at the moment it's really though and I'm at the hospital 2-3 days a week.

As you probably see our situations are completely different but I feel like we, at the same time, have a lot of similarities.
I don't have any friends either, I do but I don't want to contact anyone of the "friends" I had before I moved back home. They are all either fake, addicts, people who used me in different ways or just what you consider "bad people". I never want to see them again. I have one friend though, a girl I was really close to before everything went wrong, but she has moved to Dubai so I can't really meet her...
I'm not a shy person like you, but the situation I'm in is keeping me from going to social events, joining a sports team or other things where I can make friends. My illness and the adverse of all my medicines causes me to (like you) become tired really quickly and I also have various weird side-effects which would take way to long to describe on here.
Also I would like to work this summer but it's not possible since I'm so tired and also my past is making it almost impossible for me to get a real job for the next five years. When the summer ends I'll be going to a new school and I just pray I'll be well enough to be able to at all.
Then there is this horrible situation with the economy. My behavior and other things have caused my mum to be unable to work for over three years, the government is paying almost everything for us too. We're really living "on the edge" and every time we walk into a grocery store there is the same discussions about which the cheapest alternatives are.

My advice to you is to try my method to keep on fighting:

Try to see the good things, they may be few and they may be small. Maybe it's things like homemade cookies, an old toy that brings back good memories, good weather or an anime, they may be small but as long as they make you feel better it's great.

Family! Your mother, show her how much you lover her, and you will get so much in return, she is the most important person in your life and she will always be by your side if you treat her with love and respect.

Don't be afraid of life, know that nothing can break you unless you let it break you!

What are your talents? Try to come up with a list of what your special abilities are and I promise you there is a way to earn money or gain something in life from these. Your stamina and phobias can't keep you from living!

You seem like a nice person and I hope you send me a reply to this post, PM me if you wish to talk about anything, I don't judge. I'll try to give you good advice to anything you tell me so feel free to ask whatever you want. Remember to stay strong, always!

Yes I do! Most of the time I don't talk out loud I just have this, sometimes really deep, conversations with my self in my head. When I'm sure I'm alone I sometimes actually speak but mostly I don't.
When I clean my room for example I tend to say things like: "I'll place you there" or "This one goes here" and when I crochet, draw, make polymer clay charms or other creative stuff I always make up stories or deep conversations with mystical creatures/people in my head.
When doing things like riding a bus though I sometimes think of conversations I'll have with someone later, but that's not really talking to myself I guess...

Right now I'm trying to re watch the whole Bleach series, a huge project but I'll make it, I have lots of free time right now so it's the perfect opportunity!
When I'm tired of Bleach and feel like a break, I watch one or two episodes of Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna, it's not that interesting but it's alright I guess ^^

I've been, for a looong time, paranoid about sleeping with my back to a door or a window.
I don't know for how long this paranoia has been going on, but I think it's four to five years at least.
I think it started after a horrible nightmare I had where some kind of really creepy cat-like animal with ENORMOUS eyes stalked me in every window close to me. The animal just sat there, watching me with those huge eyes, never blinking, not even moving, just sitting on the windowsill. The scariest thing about the dream was that I live on the 10th floor but still the cat, or whatever it was, had jumped up and sat there...

That's my silly paranoia, what's yours?
Please note: I love cats, they're the cutest thing ever, but the thing in my dream was NOT a cat, just some creepy cat-like monster.

No, I would certainly not want to know the time of my death.
First of all, if I knew that I only had , for example, one week left to live then I would probably do all kinds of crazy stuff and spend all my money. But what if the prediction was wrong, and I didn't die, then I'd be standing there, without money and no goals in life.
Secondly, if I knew when I was going to die and if it was going to happen in a really long time, it just wouldn't feel right. What should I do? Plan my entire life? Plan my last moments? Aren't life supposed to be full of surprises?

I just finished watching Danganronpa, an anime that I recommend to everyone interested in mystery/horror, it was extremely well made and I just loved the style. Epic characters and the plot was perfect, WATCH IT NOW (or I will consume your brain >)

No I wouldn't say I hate them and I don't dislike them either, I might actually like some of them, they tend to be really boring sometimes, but sometimes I actually find them quite interesting.
