Background: This game happens to named "Pooyan". This was a game licensed by Stern Electronics and developed by Konami. It was released in early 1982 and ported to many gaming platforms, such as Atari 2600, Atari 8-bit computers, the NES, Commodore 64, Apple II, MSX, and Tomy Tutor.
 

Story: This game's plot is very basic. The player controls a pig named "Mama", who is out to rescue her children from wolves. 


Gameplay: Mama Pig combats the wolves using an elevator shaft operated by the "Buuyan". Her job is to use arrows and meat to snipe the wolves. In the first level, the wolves use balloons to lower themselves down the horizon to capture the "Pooyan". If not defeated immediately, they will climb up your ladder and eat your young. If successful, a short intermission plays and you are sent to the next level. The reverse is now in effect, as now the wolves are rising to the top abruptly. If enough wolves reach the top, they will push down a boulder that will flatten you. This level cannot end until you defeat the boss wolf, who is usually pink, with a meat  slab. If left alive, more wolves will keep coming. The same rules certainly apply here, If you win this next round, the game suddenly ends. There is also a bonus round, which involves shooting wolves with meat and using arrows to shoot fruit. Your reward for beating this restarts the game on a higher difficulty.

Music: This game has wonderful 8-bit renditions of classic folk songs like "The Other Day I Met a Bear" and "Oh! Susanna" among other nods. Otherwise, it has bleeps and bloops.

Graphics: For a game released in 1982, it has above average graphical capabilities. The pigs and wolves are very noticeably animated.
 

Difficulty & Game Depth: The game is not too difficult. Just a bit tricky. After getting used to the controls, you probably won't have any problems with the game accept with your sub-par elevator aim. The game isn't all too deep, you're mostly just shooting ascending wolves.  
 
Interesting Note: In Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, there are a set of extra missions called "Pooyan Missions". In them, you are plucking off abducted soldiers using balloons reliant on the Fulton surface-to-air recovery system, who are suspended in the air using fragile balloons. You are able to pop their frantic balloons, while to the tune of Pooyan's sound effects and music. It's truly a delight to see, and an interesting nod to an oft-forgotten arcade game.
  
Overall: I think Pooyan is at least a decent game. It's not very special, or overwhelmingly amazing video game perfection, but its a simple and fun little game that will give you at least a little meaningful investment. It's at least worth playing once if you happen to be a Konami fan, or a fan of retro gaming in general. Peace Walker's reference to this game should also be checked out soon. It's not perfect, but its worth a bang for your buck. Give it a play for some balloon bursting, quarter popping fun!

Execution is the inevitable death sentence, sanctioned by the government. Countries have different viewpoints regarding it. Thirty-six countries actively practice capital penalization, 103 countries have consummately abolished it for all malefactions, six have abolished it for mundane malefactions (while maintaining it for special circumstances such as heinous war malefactions), and 50 have abolished it on a customary substratum. I’d like to discuss the effects of government capital punishment, and how it might affect us as people, regarding our moral values.  


Should we continue to hastily execute or should we give life sentences instead? What should be the defining criteria for strict capital punishment? I'd like to hear your thoughts. Share if you will.
