It's a difficult call, and one I'd have to make on a case by case basis. Generally speaking, I'd say that the video games tend to be better than the manga or comics.




Both Sonic and Mega man have had fantastic Archie Comic runs, and I think that I prefer them to the games. Clannad had a very good manga as well.




On the other side of the spectrum, Digimon had some fair manga series, but they were nowhere near as good as the Digimon World games.

Those were manga based off of games, but there are many more games based off of manga, and for the most part they are piles of garbage.




Pretty much the only ones you should play are the Jump Stars series and the Naruto Ninja Storm series.




Jump (super and ultimate) Stars are Japan-only brawling games. They each feature a massive roster of Jump characters (Jump, referring to the series of manga magazines) duking it out in a Smash Bros style arena. It isn't quite Smash Bros, but it's the only place to see Goku, Bobobo, and Luffi fight.




The Nartuo Ninja Storm series is a surprisingly competent fighting series. It's fairly simplistic, but the more recent entries feature massive rosters, and pretty good visuals. The fact that it uses the original voice actors, and has several sound/subtitle options is a plus too.




Maybe also check out the Dynasty Warriors Gundam series and Dot Hack games, but that's only if you already really like those franchises. Dynasty Warriors Gundam just shoehorns Gundams in to the DW formula. Dot Hack can be a fairly compelling series, but the games can be a real grind. Also, the games are numerous, scattered across several consoles, and are considered quite rare/expensive.

I'm gonna go with the Atari 2600 port of Pacman. It is inferior to the arcade version (and all future ports) in every way. The sound was awful. The graphics were just similar enough that you'd know you were playing Pac-Man, but you'd think that it was a cheap replica. First off, the ghosts weren't the right color, secondly,they flicker enough to make your head hurt. The gameplay was janky as well, I remember more than a few times where a ghost would kill me from several pellets away.

There are few (if any) games which I think were more sullied than Atari 2600 Pac-Man.

Beyond that, have you ever used those "101 games in 1" plug and play systems that they sell at the mall? *shudder*

They're mostly clones of old 8-bit titles like Excitebike, Super Mario, and Duck Hunt, but it's so poorly done that the experience is ruined. The controllers feel like they could disintegrate in your hands, the games were filled with glitches, and graphics were often of poor quality.

Something something Windows NT Kernel something something.

Seriously though, I've heard that the Xbox runs on an X86 CPU and was poorly documented, so creating a working emulator is difficult, if not impossible. I'd imagine that programmers either couldn't figure it out or didn't think it was worth the effort.

For what it's worth, softmodding an original Xbox is a pretty easy thing to do provided you own the appropriate game to unlock the exploit.

At the time I was both reading HP Lovecraft and watching Doctor Who. I noticed that Cthulhu, when read like a normal person, sounds like it has "who" in it. During my next account creation (I forgot what site at this point) I punched it in and saw that it wasn't taken. Some time later I was looking for a profile picture on a site where I used the name. To my surprise, there are a number of pictures of Cthulhu wearing a fez. I'd set one here, but I haven't figured out how to use a profile picture yet.

I'm not sure what's up with your black screen. Have you changed OBS' video or encoding settings from the default? When you go to your twitch dashboard what does it say under "Stream configuration quality"? I can give you my settings, which haven't let me down up to now.

Options which I don't list are either grayed out, unused, default values, or I believe that they are of little consequence in your case. If you would still like to see them then let me know and I'll post them as well.

I take it that you're using wifi instead of ethernet. Using an ethernet cable could drastically improve your stream, possibly completely eliminating lag/stutter. This, of course, depends on your internet speed. If you have poor internet speed then this won't help either way.

I normally keep my titles simple as well. "Passing time while playing X" has been my default for a while.

Voiceover and webcam overlays are super easy! For the audio go to you audio settings in OBS. Under Microphone/auxiliary device just pick your microphone. This will cause OBS to pick up everything your microphone does, so you might want to add a push to talk hotkey. To do this go to the hotkey settings, check off "use push-to-talk," then click on one of the two empty push to talk fields to assign a button.

For the webcam: To add a webcam you need to edit your sources. Connect your webcam then right click on the sources box (at the bottom of the main OBS window)>add>video capture device. Name it whatever you like, "webcam" is probably best just so you know what it is. In the new window that pops up click on the dropdown menu at the very top, one of the options (probably the only option) should be your webcam. The rest can pretty much be left as is unless you have some sort of issue. Click "OK" at the bottom right. You should now see the new video source listed. Make sure that the webcam source appears above your game source in the list or it will be hidden.

Now if you preview your stream you should be able to see your webcam. To readjust and move the webcam around just click the "edit scene" button in the bottom right. In the preview you should see a red box appear around your webcam stream. You can now move it around and resize it. I recommend keeping the webcam in one of the corners since that'll probably be the least obtrusive place to put it.

The first that I can remember was Ghouls 'N Ghosts. I don't think that I ever got past the first level as a kid. Years later, one of my cousins ended up getting Super Ghouls n Ghosts on GBA and for the next 3 summers we would pass it back and forth in the car on the ~20 hour ride to Florida. I think that after all of that we managed to make it to the final boss only a handful of times. Today, Ghouls 'N Ghosts for the Genesis is the first ROM I put on every device capable of using emulators. It's kind of the measuring stick which I use for all 2D games I play.

Okami sticks out in my mind. It's probably my favorite game, and it's the prettiest I've ever seen. There's a lot of joy to be derived from the game, and the lore is really interesting. Because of Okami I ended up doing a lot of wikipedia searches, and when i replay it again I'm sure that I'll be doing further research.

The way that the town changes depending on whether or not you do certain side-quests, and the way that those quests are interwoven. When I originally played the game I thought that stuff like the Anju love quest was a hassle, but now that I've replayed the game on the 3DS (and I 100% completed it, woot woot!) I've gained a new appreciation for it.

Believe it or not, video games helped me learn English. When I was young my parents refused to speak English around the house, so school was a real struggle when I started learning. Lucky for me, my cousin had just gotten a PSX and I played through FF7, 8, and 9, all of which have a lot of dialog. There was a lot of it that I didn't understand at the time, and it took me forever to beat them, but I think that it helped a lot.

As for what it means to me now, it's just a way to pass the time. I enjoy them, and while I once wanted to make a career out of it, I realized that I would probably get much more joy out of it by just playing them.

Exclusives?

3) Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - I've put in 70 hours and I'm still considered a casual. The amount of content (and grinding) in the game is crazy.

2) Super Mario 3d World - It's pretty good. It was the first game that my brother, sister, and I have played together in a while.

1) Super Smash Bros. - I'm not sure if this is my favorite Smash game, but I like it a lot. The fact that they're continuing to add content to it is also nice.

Probably August. It's super hot, my friends start leaving for college, and I need to start prepping for my own semester to start. Mostly though, it's just really hot. I can't stand getting all sweaty.

1) The local public library - seriously, there's so much good stuff to be had in there. More books than you can ever read, films, music, and computer access (if for whatever reason mine was out of commission,) and a whole slew of live events.

2) My past experiences - seriously, I've screwed up so many times throughout high school that if I had to make them all again I might literally die.

3) My Steam account - 600 games. If I lose that then that's thousands of dollars down the tubes. I probably have more money in my Steam library than I do in my bank account.

4) My family - I give them a lot of crap, but at the end of the day I really rely on them.

5) My car - I don't have any affinity for my specific car, but the freedom it gives is pretty valuable to me, even if I don't always use it.

Probably peaches and cream, but it's a tough call. Key Lime comes in at a close second.
