FaithFighter : You're the one who's eating chocolate cake semi regularly and you're talking about being overweight.  It may have something to do with it..  I'll play the game.  I'll post what I ate and my weight.

Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled + bowl of shredded wheat and skim milk.

Lunch: 1 orange, 1 banana, 1 cup of Greek yogurt with strawberries, one sandwich on whole wheat bread, turkey meat, lettuce, yellow mustard, one slice of munster cheese.

Dinner: Sage and garlic roasted salmon, parmesan couscous, skim milk, caesar salad.

I also threw in a four mile run, some push ups and pull ups.

I weight 160 lbs of rough and tumble, hard charging, physically fit, high performance body.

No cake last night.  Or the night before.

So, I'll bail out of the conversation.  I don't know what you're objective is on here.  Just post food and weight?

FaithFighter : Education is what you need.  If you expect any changes while eating chocolate cake regularly, you're not going to succeed.

I am a personal trainer and the food element is about 65% of weight loss.  Don't think of it as a diet, think of it as a lifestyle change.  You'll want to really examine what you're eating and find better alternatives.

I suggest going to the library and getting books on how food works in the body.  Education is a powerful tool and you'll understand how and why all this works.  The internet is not a strong resource because you have unlimited opinions without citation and any clown online can post what they think is a good idea and it's a terrible idea.

Don't rely on us.  Do educate yourself.

Also, it's good to avoid sugar as much as you can.  Do that and you'll see results no matter what else you do.

Luigi, good for you for thinking and examining this sort of thing.

It is tough for us to think about how some guy walked around 2,000 years ago in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, and other Middle Eastern countries and now Americans, and others around the world, worship him as the son of God.  It's also interesting to think that he's portrayed in many churches to be white, or very light skinned.

There are a variety of reasons to question and look at Christianity and other religions.  The easy answer is "You're having your faith tested."

Do I 100% believe everything in the Bible?  No.  It's been written, rewritten, counter-written, and changed to suit political and social goals.  No one spoke English in 3,000 BC, so there's no way the translation is perfect.  And some of the stories are easy to understand as stories but tough to follow as the literal truth.

And the whole thing about science really bothers me.

I like the idea.  Jesus said, "Let's love one another and be nice."  If that's the takeaway from religion, great.  If it turns into Westboro Baptist Church, or people who kill abortion clinic workers, or all the other wars fought over religion, people miss the point.  And that's what leads me to question it all, too.

I don't 100% believe in religion.

Some differences are good and two people having different skill sets while managing a relationship is important.  My wife is good at paying bills on time and I'm good at fixing things.

But we have a ton in common.  Two people have to.  I imagine a perfect girl, in shape, big boobs, pretty face, smart, but she doesn't:

(A) Drink alcohol or like bars
(B) Like dancing
(C) Like watching sports
(D) Laugh at the same dumb jokes I do
(E) Enjoy the same values I do

And I'm outta there.  That sort of relationship is going to fail no matter how hard you work at it because you don't have similar tastes and preferences, food, religion, etc.

You can name any game and find people who hate it.  They won't like the combat system, they won't like the story, they won't like the music, they think the weapons are unpowered or overpowered and they hated the art and the scenery and the cities.  Or the story was terrible and they could do it better themselves.

Every game is going to have people who don't like it.  Every game is going to be hated on by a group of people for sins real or imagined.  You'll hear some negative comments but you can find good stuff too.

Get the game, enjoy the game with an open mind and make your own opinion on how much you like it.  There are games universally hated that I really enjoy and I don't care what others think.  If I'm entertained, it's a great game.  That's it.

I always move forward, I always attack jobs and go after the things in life I really want.  I don't let anything get in my way, I perservere, I continue on, I stand after I fall.

My personal theme song is the theme song from Terminator 2: Judgement Day

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQGCxAa8gs8

There's the beat that continues that mechanical and will not stop.  There's the intro of the synthesizer that gives hope and support to the driving force.  And it will never end.

That's what I have going on.

Also the underwater music from Super Mario 3.

Hoochman : I disagree.

Opinions that do not take respect of others' rights, like the right to life, have no business being tolerated.

Imagine a group of people who feel everyone with a certain religion, ethnicity, or are from a particular place should be dead.  It's offensive to my God, my political leader, or my ideology that you even exist.  My life mission is to kill you and wipe your culture off the face of the earth.

That is not an opinion that should be respected.

Opinions that lump everyone together like, "People who like wrestling all have autism" or "Any males over 8 years of age who like My Little Pony are gay" shouldn't be respected, appreciated, or tolerated in any sense of the words.

There's no room on this planet for that sort of thing.  I don't have any tolerance to the Westboro Baptist Church because they lead hate.  Hate should never be tolerated.

I read threads about bullying, I hear about bullying online or in the news.

Can someone actually describe something that happened to them that consider bullying?  When I was going to middle school, in the early 90s, you'd get punched in the back of the head and a bully would take your money and throw your backpack on the roof of the school.

What is bullying now?  I've read enough threads and heard enough people say they get bullied.

What happens?

You have 32 conferences in Division 1 and each team plays about 30 games a year.  So, if you have ten teams in a conference, you're talking about 9600 games in a NCAA basketball season.

Football has 124 teams and they play 12 games, so you have about 1400 games.  That's one sixth the number of games basketball guys play.  And hoops is only 40 minutes.

Of course there are more upsets in basketball.

I like football more because it's a spectacle to play only one day a week.  Teams with rivalries play only one place each other and they go back and forth.  I don't mind the home and home series but it detracts from "We won in your house."

I like football more but I enjoy both college football and basketball much more than NFL or NBA.

I read some of the novel and I do not expect to see the movie.

The book is good because it can open up discussions with couples and people about their relationships and their fantasies.  It's something meant to engage couples.  Maybe the book depicts abuse or violence but that doesn't mean something more vanilla and satisfying can come out of a conversation between people in relationships.

I heard the movie was terrible and there's more titillating sex scenes in your average HBO movie.  I wouldn't see it for the sex because the Internet is readily available.  I'd see it for the relationship building and the discussion of how to get from point A to point B with another person.

If more people are getting hurt that means they're trying new things out.  Hopefully they are happy and they're enjoying themselves.  I get hurt playing soccer on occasion.  It doesn't mean I stop playing soccer.

A quick google search popped up several notable news sources for your New York City inquiry.  I have USA Today, NY Times, and NBC for you.  These are from years ago and things have progressed.  It's an interesting read to see the domino effect and it's a microcosm for what could happen around the country.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/06/nyregion/06fat.html?_r=0

http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/health/2006-12-04-trans-fat-ban_x.htm

http://www.nbcnews.com/id/16051436/ns/health-diet_and_nutrition/t/new-york-city-passes-trans-fat-ban/#.VOSMePnF8rU

And of course we make laws to protect people from other people.  The seat belt laws in some states are meant to protect insurance payees and the state from shelling out extra money to those who kill themselves because they don't want to wear seatbelts.  Helmet laws on motorcycles are for the same reason.  It's money, not safety of a rider that motivates law makers to do these kinds of things.

So, the question really becomes where the line is drawn.  Mandatory vaccinations at hospitals as soon as kids are born?  And how does freedom of religion fit in?  The easy answer is: Don't go to public places if you're not vaccinated.  I'm sure civil rights groups will love that to happen.

Myelin : If you start doing that, you start forcing all sorts of government control over citizens.  Safety is important and kids should not be allowed in public schools or daycares if they don't have vaccinations.

However, forcing everyone to vaccinate because it's good is the first step of.... what?  Now we ban cigarettes because they're bad.  New York City has banned saturated fat or something like that because it is unhealthy.  Ooops, you can't play video games any more because people think game play leads to violence.  Or no one can run now because you'll trip and fall and get hurt.  And cars kill a thousands of people all the time.  We should get rid of those.

Yes, that is all silly to read but when the government lets themselves in on the decision making process of every day life, they'll start to do more and more.  I'm more a Libertarian than anything.  People can choose what they want.  My kid is vaccinated out the wazoo because I understand the science.

The best you can do is educate, teach, and educate more.  And don't let people who aren't vaccinated into public spaces.

I'm only curious as to half your scores come in at 5 or lower and you still rate the game 9.9.

Let's be honest folks, Super Mario sucks if you didn't grow up with it.  I did grow up with it and there is way better stuff out there.

I don't know why it's a conversation at all.  If someone wants to be called a certain name, like Jim or Chrissy or whatever, we call them that.  That's their name and what they identify to.

If someone wants to be called he or she or it or they make something else up, that's fine.  I believe for legal documents, like driver's licensure, or other federal or medical documents, they're identified by their current physical gender.

I can want to be a male all I wish but when I go to a doctor and I have a uterus, I'm dealing with a different set of problems.

I'll call people whatever they want because (a) it usually means a lot of them and (b) it means nothing to me.  I don't care.  It's not that I'm pro or anti anyone.  I just don't give a crap.  I'll respect the person, though, and call them he, she, it, whatever.

I don't know what you're talking about with the Hetalia.  I took some quiz and it said American, Alfred Jones, without a doubt.

That makes sense to me.  I was born in the U.S. and I am everything the country represents.  I like explosions, women, beer, guns, and I was in the Marine Corps for six years.  I believe in capitalism and earning everything.  I believe in the free market economy, Pepsi, Hollywood, and my culture spreads around the world.

I'd sing the national anthem but I would tear up and get emotional.  I love football, military fly overs, and the stars and stripes make me proud.

Bread has many colors.  You are asking us "Is a car white or black?" or "Is a dog white or black?"

Wonder bread is a style of bread that is pure white.  The crust is a light brown color.  It is popular because it is very easy to feed to children.  There is no taste and it goes well with many sandwiches.

Rye bread is baked different and is black.  Sometimes it will have some lighter colors in it because of the ingredients.

Each style of bread has its own name and its own color.  The pastry products have their names specific names too.
